• Essbase Cluster node not get is expanding in the Regional service console

  Dear all,

  We use version Hyperion 11.1.2.1. I faced a new problem in Regional service console. The Essbase Cluster-1 node in the service console Regional expanding not when I tied to drilled her. For this reason, I am unable to view the applications, calculation scripts, etc. We need to run calc scripts and to add new members in the application.  Any body experienced this before? Kindly guide me to solve this problem issue.

  If you use the web console EAS, then make sure you are using a supported Java version, if it is supported, and then try adding the server essbase with the hostname instead of cluster.

• Creating a new Essbase Cluster on the same Solaris Server

  I have two servers:

  Server1: Services Foundation, APS, EAS
  Server2: Essbase server, Essbase Studio on epminstance_1

  Due to the needs of the company, I need to "Rename" pole Essbase "EssbaseCluster-1"to something else... I know that this is not possible and the below document, I understand that I need to create a new instance on server Server2 and configure Essbase and Essbase Studio on it.

  Aim: In the version of the EMP 11.1.2.x system, is it possible to rename the Essbase instance and cluster names once they are configured?

  Solution: No, it is not possible to rename cluster or Essbase instance names after the initial Setup. If you must change the instance names and cluster, create the cluster and the new instance. Applications for the export of the old cluster and import them into the new cluster.

  My doubt lies with the 2nd Essbase server configuration as I'm not clear how a unique environment with two standalone instances on the same physical Solaris Essbase server, with each owned their own cluster will behave. I know that they are independent groups and the notion of active/passive and active/active clusters are for part instances Essbase in the same cluster.

  I intend to create a new instance of epminstance_2 on Server2 and configure the 2nd Essbase server as follows: give it a * new * cluster name and not assign to Essbase existing cluster and deploy it in stand-alone mode.

  
  1. now I intend to use the 1st instance only as a backup option. In a case where the new instance should fail for some reason, I would like to start services on the old instance of essbase. Is this possible without any additional configuration or changes to the OPMN?

  2. in the alternative, say we want to remove the old instance. Please suggest ways in which I can surely 'delete' the older cluster (other than uninstall). Also, when users connect using SmartView, they would see the old cluster and new... Is there anyway that I can get rid of the older cluster without having to uninstall everthing on Server2 and start over?

  It should not be a problem by adding additional instances of Essbase on the same server, it is documented - configuration and start-up additional Essbase Server Instances

• Essbase Cluster - how to restore any cluster

  I have the following plan to make (let me know if there is an error in this scenario)

  Essbase itself should be active / passive clustering on the windows cluster.

  Installation:

  Node 1: Foundation Services, reporting and analysis, Essbase Admin Services, Essbase provider Services, Essbase Integration Services, Essbase Studio Server, Essbase

  Node 2: even

  The Foundation Services, Reporting and analysis, Essbase Admin Services, Essbase service provider could me clustered using Weblogic Admin Server

  So I have

  Node 1: Instance epmsystem1

  Node 2: Instance epmsystem2

  OSH has been configured on the two afters of nodes that vertical scale was over for the Java Web Applications.

  Essbase Integration Services and Essbase Studio Server are configured on each case separately.

  So I started to configure the Essbase Server on node 1 (Instance epmsystem1)

  After I have configures Essbase Server on node 2. With the error that I use epmsystem2 as instance name.

  After the necessary manual changes of opmn.xml and essbase.cfg I could manually start und stop essbase on both nodes.

  but because the deployment were the name of the different bodies and different windows service names I could not create a unique service name to go with the windows Failover Manager.

  When I start to try on node 2 configure a Cluster on the epmsystem1 (@node2) of the cluster instance Configuration of EMP tool seems to be "full" with 2 existing knots.

  (a) could 1 remove node2 (epmsystem2) of the Essbase Cluster configuration? How?

  (b) is it possible after remove it to configure epmsystem1@node2 for essbase clustering while epmsystem2@node2 (including foundation) are still here?

  You can try to uninstall Essbase and it should remove the registry entries, if on 11.1.2.3 there is the option to delete the instance of full EMP without uninstalling.

  Hi tinnitus,

  I can't open your vi for the moment, but maybe I can help without it. You can use a reference to it to make it visible or invisible. If you want to hide to element, you must then two references. You can get the refernce right-clicking in the mode of development, or search during the race.

• Essbase cluster without stopping

  Hello

  I have implemented an active-passive cluster of Essbase via OPMN with (restart death = false) on v11.1.2.3.506

  However when I want to stop the Essbase agent on the Active Server using stopall opmnctl, the Essbase agent stops but then it starts on the passive server!

  So, I have to perform stopall opmnctl firstly on the passive server then on the Active Server to stop Essbase.

  = > Is this the right way? Since this is the user requesting the closure, it is not as a failure?

  I installed Essbase and I think I have cluster1 essbase and essbase cluster2 when I look at HSS. There should be only one cluster law Essbase? I did something wrong?

  Could have configured essbase on multiple servers, you must check and start the Configurator on each server to see what has been configured or run a registry report, although generally you install only essbase on the server you would deploy on.
  You could create EMP multi-instance oracle on the essbase server and configured to both essbase.

• Project HSS Server export Essbase of access control information

  I used the import/export successfully HSS 9.3.1 utility to export and import configuration for our HSS configuration information.
  
  but I want to be able to export and import information access as well as for a server control Essbase 9.3.1 and filters and Calc etc that can be used by groups that I've configured with the tool.

  HSS the hub for the supply of all so maybe not quite true, it is I think I understand that the information you're after is still detained in the essbase security file and the hss export utility does not go down to that level.
  I think you need to use another method to obtain this information, perhaps maxl essbase utility of Advanced Security Manager or simply export dry.

• Single point of failure/Cluster/high availability on Essbase 11.1.2

  The project I am currently working has only one Version of Unix 11.1.2 Essbase server that's threat as a single Point of failure. Management thinking to upgrade the Essbase to superior verion 11.1.2.1 to achieve clustering & high availability and to overcome the situation of single Point of failure by having just a server unique essbase.

  My concerns here are;

  Note: Essbase in this project is used to generate reports only, write back data is not allowed.

  (1) not supported of the Essbase Version 11.1.2 Cluster / HA / failover to the other node?

  (2) if it is Yes, can you please share the link to the documentation for this version 11.1.2.

  There are other components of Hyperion as HFM, FDM used the same version in this project. If the failover is not supported in the version of Essbase 11.1.2 we need upgrade other components as well as the Essbase or just Essbase upgrade upgrade to version 11.1.2.x is sufficient.

  Please share your valuable thoughts on that.

  Found the reason why Essbase Cluster does not work when implemented with failover / high availability when Essbase Analytics link (EAL) used in the project. Due to these facts, we have stopped application Essbase Cluster and the Essbase in my project remains SPOF (Single Point of Failure).

  Not sure if Oracle Corp. comes with EAL product improvements that can take over for Essbase Failover.

  1. Essbase Analytics link (EAL release 11.1.1.4) does not support high availability facilities. This means that EAL cannot connect to a cluster of Essbase, always happens only connections to a server regular Essbase through the Regional service console. Although we can define availability high for Essbase, EAL will use a single Essbase server. If it breaks down another Essbase server is used, we must manually redefine the EAL bridges on the new Essbase server and re-create the database Essbase. It is not considered high availability in this case.
  2. There is no technical mechanism to link point to a Cluster Essbase-Essbase analytics. EAL is supported only to connect to a single named Essbase Server.
  3. Transparent partitions can support when configured Essbase as component availability high when EAL is used. EAL bridges in the active project uses Transparent partition.

  I have a problem to access smartview applications. The user is to have admin access to Essbase and planning, but still when you're trying to connect to smartview, it throws the following error:

  As previously indicated by the Amith, try to refresh the security filters and check if it works. If this is not the case, the other reason could be that the user is not having access to essbase, i.e. a permissions problem with the permissions of the user access control. Follow these steps to make your thing work:

  1. connect to Shared Services with administrator credentials.

  2. expand the Application node group

  3. right click on the Essbase Cluster

  4. Select assign access control

  5. Select the user who has questions

  6 give access to Essbase and planning.

  I would write a Subvi, which takes a dynamic cluster, accesses his property of [control] and acting on the results.  I don't know if this is possible, or at least have not thought a viable option.  If anyone has any ideas, I like to hear them.  Let me know if I have defined my problem well enough.

  I work in the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 version. When I tried it at the disposal of the user using Maxl Script, I get the error message - "the user does not exist".

  MAXL > change user 'Test' add to group 'Test_Group ';

  Error - 1051012 - Test user does not exist.

  I tried below. But still get the error.

  MAXL > change user 'Test' Add application_access_type Essbase;

  Error - 1051012 - Test user does not exist.

  I am able to manually add groups to this user to test through shared services. But I want to many users and need help to make the delivery by MAXL.

  OK, there are some rules when you use Maxl to supply users of the AD, I'll go through with images, as if all goes well it will make sense to

  EssbaseOTN user AD sees recovered in Shared Services

  

  Aboriginal group essgroupOTN exists in Shared Services

  

  Make sure that the Group has some sort of essbase, put in service, for example against server or application level access

  Now maxl, create or replace the AD user.

  

  This puts into service the user with walk-in essbase server access so they can be added to the Group

  

  Now you should be able to add the AD user group

  

  

  If a user exists in native and external, then you will need to use the format. 'essbaseOTN@EPMAD '.

  We strive to put our Essbase cubes on a NFS file system shared for our Essbase cluster

  Performance is weaker than expected (2 x slower than our current configuration)

  I saw on internet that NFS is not recommended for Essbase 9 but nothing for Essbase 11.1.2.3.x on the doc of the EMP.

  -Are you using NFS for your Essbase data? What version of v3, v4?

  -What type of FS do you recommend (for linux)

• Essbase server URL of the SSP sub-folder of application groups can not see...

  I installed successfully hyperion EPMA 11.1.2.3 on windows server 2008 R2. I can connect to all the components hyperion essbase except succussfully. While trying to connect to essbase by EAS it gives me below error.

  "Error: 103: error unexpected Essbase 1051293 Error: 1051293: connection fails due to invalid credentials".

  In shared services, I do not see essbase cluster while the other components are visible.

  Please suggest...

  Try this stop essbase, rename the essbase.sec, essbase start-up, check the essbase.log to see if it registers properly with Shared Services.
