  Words Glenn is correct, even if I'm still confused.... from your description, it seems like you're moving data from an OSB application on a single server to an application of OSI... on another server.

  My comment on there is not not a mistake was not being facetious. (Why would you need one) a column to the format export or b) a rule of load? There must be something more to what I don't get...

  For the extraction of data by using CalcScript, ODI Agent must be running on the same server as the Essbase server.
  
  Anyone know if there is a need for ODI Agent on the Essbase machine if we use the method of MDX query for the extraction of the data?

  It's just for the Calc script method because it has access to the exported file, you should be fine with the other methods.

• Simple question on Essbase Server security settings

  I have a question on the essbase Server security settings. There are three values that I can put here the connection attempts, password and inactive days discount days. My server is not in safety mode of Shared Services. However, the authentication of users is even outsourced. that is, when you create a new user, I select the "use external authentication.

• How Essbase treats nets of the CPU?

  In our environment, we have the following Solaris machine:

  Computer type: T4 - 1 8 Core SPARC SUN

  CPU speed: 2 850 MHz

  UC: 1

  Cores/CPU: 8

  Total number of cores: 8

  Memory: 32 GB

  Of these resources, 3 cores are available for Essbase 11.1.2.4. As we know from the material administrator, each kernel has 8 wires, so in total for Essbase, we have 3 cores x 8 = 24 son son. And now the question is, how Essbase treats these wires? Separated from central units 'virtual '? In other words, we can for example set of CALCPARALLEL 8 in our environment, and these 8 wires will be used by Essbase (of course, assuming it's possible)?

  If it is SPARC T4, then you should have 8 threads by heart, calcparallel must set the number of threads to use.

• Hyperion Planning and Essbase

  I have a question about how essbase is related to hyperion planning.  specifically, I would like to know if you can vectorize in essbase and then associate them with or have them cross to a hyperion planning an application.  I read that if you make a change to an essbase outline, and then refresh the hyperion application applications settings, including an outline, will be replaced.  It seems that master control is integrated with EPMA or hyperion planning because all the dimension and the main lines of work needs to be done here.  However, it seems to me that there may be times where you want everything works on and change the contour in essabase and have changes go through the application of EPMA, because it's maybe easier.  Is this true and if so, how do the changes so that they appear in the hyperion application that was created by EPMA.

• Facing a weird problem in Essbase 7 x

  We are facing one of the strangest questions associated with Essbase. We have an application in Essbase 7 x, we strive to connect through Excel add-in. Excel is in client server, Essbase is in the application server and we opened the port 1423 between two. When you try to connect to DBS in this application, we get the following error message. The same mistake that we know when we create new app and try to connect. Strangest thing, is that all existing applications work well without any problems. We are also able to work on this APP/DB of the administration COnsole.
  
  "Network error [10060]: unable to connect to [Hqipwcpdap01:1423]." The customer has timed out waiting to connect to the Agent of Essbase using the TCP/IP protocol. Check your network connections. Also, make sure the values of server and port are correct. »

  We don t be able to migrate the applications to our Essbase 11.1.1.3 environment, so I need to know if the old version works with the new windows and office.

  Why don't test you the upgrade of the complement for a more recent version that is supported with windows 7 and excel 2010, the add-in must be backward compatible.

• Essbase Cache

  I'm new to network54. I have a question on the Essbase Data Cache.

  If recover us data for the first time, the data will be will deposit in the data cache. Now if we try to access the same data, the data will be extracted from the data cache, but if the data has been changed in the database, how it reflected in the cache? The cache will provide updated values or the old values?

  I too used the word flush, but I was not technical. I really wanted to tell blocks are replaced as others have said. In any case, the line at the bottom is the cache will have the most recent data, do not worry about this being stale. There is nothing you need to do to ensure that.

• Essbase calc dense dimension creates not values

  I have a weird scenario
  
  On the accounts a dense dimension.
  
  If I type at the entrances to the calc calc works. The calc does not work if I load the data.
  
  I did a bunch of tests, for example if I load the data and run the calc it does not work. If I come and crush the same load number calc works. Again, this is not a dimension of sparse, I am writing to (so it isn't a problem of block to create).
  
  It is even on simple rules of BR as Acc1 * Acc2 = Acc3. I type in Acc1 it work. I charge Acc1 it does not work.

  Hmm, this sounds exactly like a problem of creation of block. But it is impossible, that all the members in the game are in the dimension of accounts. Once you have a cell in charge block, this block is created.

  What it looks like is a "smart" calc question That is, Essbase blocks clean and dirty and then only calcs those that are dirty. Is it possible that you use smart calc as a database property or that there is code that is set the status of the blocks (SET CLEARUPDATESTATUS AFTER or ONLY) to clean and you know it?

  Try this:

  without changing anything the user is implemented successfully.

• The cube update fails with an error below

  We are facing this problem below when planning application database update. We've been refreshing the database daily, but all of a sudden the error below appeared in the newspaper. The error is something like below:
  
  
  The cube refresh failed with the error: java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error demarshalling return; nested exception is:
  java.io.EOFException

• Planning of EPMA or classic?
