ESXi 3.5 Update 4-64 bit support

Could someone confirm that the following is correct:

ESXi 3.5 Update 4 can be installed on hardware 32 or 64 bits.

In order to support 64-bit clients, the processor must be 64-bit and must have VT technology.

ESXi 4 can be installed on 64-bit hardware and support 64-bit clients.

Thank you Sam

Property to true.

In order to support 64-bit clients, the processor must be 64-bit and must have VT technology.

Or the CPU must be a Rev. D or later processor AMD64.  See KB 1901.

ESXi 4 can be installed on 64-bit hardware and support 64-bit clients.

ESXi 4 can be installed on 64-bit hardware.  To support 64-bit clients, it has the same requirements of hardware/firmware that ESXi 3.5.  (Of course, it can still support 32-bit clients.)

How to install esxi 4.0 Update 1 on Dell PE 710 R? on esxi, we want to create virtual machines for windows 2008 r2.

We can use Dell Open manage and it gives options to use esxi 4.0 or we need to start directly from esxi 4.0 Update 1 CD and run the installer.

Please suggest the best way to configure esxi 4.0 on dell 710R server.

If you are on the Dell hardware, you need at least generation 9 material, for example, a Dell PE 1850 or 2850 will not support a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit o/s. If you're on a material later, where the processor supports the technology of Intel Virtualization (VT), you can enable it in the BIOS of the host.

Please note that R2 support is "experimental" - you will need to ESXi 4.0 Update 1 installed full support.

I installed ESXi 4.1 update 01 on 2 servers.  Then I updated the hardware version of all servers in version 4 to 7.  Now the vCenter has no network adapters!  Research in the Windows Device Manager indicates Intel E1000 adapters with a yellow exclaimation point.  Try updating the drivers doesn't produce a message that says that the drivers are up to date.  All other Windows servers work correctly with their network cards, just the Windows 2008 R2 64-bit vCenter server is not able to connect to a network.

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.

I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

    Hello

I have an Adobe Air based application which I previously downloaded using the iTunes connect application loader.

Today, I get the error: ERROR ITMS-90086 'Missing Support 64-bit' iOS apps submitted to the App Store must include 64-bit support and built with iOS SDK 8 or later.

It's weird because the 64-bit requirement has existed for some time and I use the same build method has been accepted previously.

I tried the building without the extensions to exclude third party extensions. I have updated to the latest version of the Air SDK and use new certificate/provisioning profiles.

    Any ideas, what has changed?

We get a new DELL server to run ESXi 5.5 update 3.

Just find out there is an embedded version of ESXi 5.5 update 3 on a USB is connected.

We would like to know what meaning it is best to run ESXi - USB or Local HARD disk?  I think that if she runs on the Local HARD disk, we can remote access via DRAC card.   In addition, we do not use any local HD (i.e. no VSAN) and so there is no loss if VMware runs on the HD.

    Your opinion is requested.

    Hello.

With ESXi on USB/SD is supported by VMware, so no problem here. Remember that if you use these devices, you'd probably set the partition scratching at some storage 'persistent '. I personally use one of the data stores for all guests, I have it in one place.

I don't understand why you assuming that through a port USB as a boot device will not provide access to DCUI via the DRAC? Boot device has no importance here...

  • Update Server VC and 5.5 ESXi hosts to update 3 b (Build 3248547)

I'm in vCenter Server 5.5 and 5.5 ESXi hosts.  Both are updated 3A, patched to version 201510001, which is the build 3116895.  I plan the upgrade of update 3 b (Build 3248547) and I'm a little confused on the question of SSLv3.

I wonder if this point below ESXi55 U3b & VC 55U3b Known Issues applies to my config:

ESXi does not automatically added to the inventory of the vCenter servers
If you install an earlier version of vCenter Server and vSphere Update Manager for ESXi 5.5 updated 3B, then after the task of sanitation, ESXi does not automatically added to the VC inventory. Remediation process never gets done and ESXi State of connection in the VC inventory is presented as disconnected. Solution: When you restart ESXi after reorganization process is started, enable SSLv3 on ESXi (which is disabled by default). This will ensure that ESXi is added to the VC inventory automatically in minutes and sanitation as completed.

If I'm reading things correctly, upgrade to vCenter Server to 3 b first and then upgrade the ESXi hosts, will avoid lost communication problems.  Can anyone confirm?

It should be good if you update vCenter first.

The problem is that pre - U3b vCenter 5.5 forces an SSLv3 connection when connecting to an ESXi host on port 443 (not the reverse). It does this, even if the host ESXi and vCenter SSL/TLS libraries actually support TLS 1.0 + since at least vSphere 4.0.

So when you update one host to 5.5 U3b, the oldest vCenter again will try to force a connection SSLv3 that will fail, since SSLv3 has been disabled to the host. If you're updating vCenter, first of all, it will initiate a good TLS 1.0 + connection to more similar and updated hosts.

Here is an explanation of the (pre - U3b) vCenter SSLv3 handshake behavior:

  • Only Indesign and DPS support 64-bit support required apples as Apple announced is required as of February 1, 2015?

I got this email from Apple.  I use Xcode to build, I only use InDesign. InDesign and DPS will meet the requirements of Apple?

    It's the email:

    Dear developer,

As we announced in October, beginning February 1, 2015 new iOS apps submitted to the App Store must include 64-bit support and built with iOS SDK 8. Beginning June 1, 2015 app updates will also have to follow the same requirements. To enable 64-bit in your project, we recommend using the default Xcode build the 'Standard architectures' setting to build a single binary with 32-bit and 64-bit code.

If you do not use VUM you must start with the installation of VMware 5 CD. It might be interesting to do a backup configuration before installation. With a backup of the configuration, you can do a new installation that can eliminate installation issues if you have everything installed drivers not supported. Make sure that validate you the HCL before any upgrade to ensure that all your hardware is supported. http://VMware.com/go/HCL
