ESXi 5.5 NIC not detected

I have an ASUS M4N68T-M V2 with built in network card, while I'm installing eSXI 5.5, I get an error of not detected NETWORK card. an advise please. Thanks in advance :-)

I can't tell you if the NETWORK card works with older versions of ESXi as he is not on the list of supported network cards. You can try if.

Anyway, other users on the forum succeeded with an adapter Intel Pro/1000 GT desktop, you may be able to get at a lower cost. From what I have found, your motherboard has two PCI slots, so it could be something to consider.

  • Bug? NIC not detected under Win8 preview.

I installed recently released 'Windows 8 consumer overview' to a virtual machine. No 'Windows 8' option is available (natch), so I had to choose 'Other' for the operating system.

Installation went well, but the operating system could not detect my Ethernet port (built-in) and therefore could not detect my Internet connection.

'Player' detects my NIC very well with other operating systems using the Presets of Instaler, but not when you select 'Other' for the operating system.

It's probably more a bug on a part of MS with Win8 preview, but the 'Device Manager' of Win8 says that the card is properly installed. It is not a problem of "pilot". For some reason, 'Player' just does not connect (logically).

Just report something that I think should be looked for in. Does anyone else have this problem?

    THX.

Is using "Other" be described as "Easy Install"?

N ° when you create the virtual machine, select "I will install the operating system later", then select "Windows 7" as the guest operating system.

  • ESXi 4.0 does not detect new NIC Intel 1000/PRO MT Dual Port

Recently, I upgraded my ESXi 4.0. Now I come to install a card Intel 1000/PRO MT Dual Port NIC and EXSi does not recognize. It does not appear in the list of available adapters. I restarted the ESXi twice but still the NETWORK map is not displayed.

I saw another post about this problem. They suggest to re - install ESXi 4.0 from scratch. It there a way to force ESXi to detect the card without starting from scratch.

    Hi all

I try to install ESXI on a HP ML350 G6.  When I configure the table as a RAID 5, ESXI detects the logical drive, but watch used and 0 bytes of free space I would install it.  If I reformat the table to a RAID 10, ESXI it detects perfectly.  I really need to have it configured as a RAID 5.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

  • NETWORK card not detected after installing ESXi 4.1?

    Hi all

I installed the ESXi Server 4.1 on a single server with the following configurations,

    CPU = Intel (R) CPU Xeon X 3430 @ 2.40 GHz

    Memory = 16GB

    NIC = Intel 82574 L Gigabit Network connection-2 no

After that ESXi installation a NIC card not detected. But two cards network is the same configuration. Due to this problem, I can not configure grouping of NETWORK cards. Please suggest me. Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

On the screenshot that you are using a motherboard Intel S3420GP. Just a NETWORK card is 82574L, the other on board is a 82578DM, which is not supported. So you will need additional network cards.

  • ESXi 5.5 U1 does not detect to install local drives on HP DL380 G7 during

    Hello

I am new to testing with vmware ESXi 5.5.

I did an instalation on the old server (DL380 G5), which was fine (I didn't add drivers to monitor health P400 control).

I'm now trying to intall ESXi 5.5. U1 on HP DL380 G7 with HP Smart Array P410i controller and attached is a HP StorageWorks NAS too.

I'm having a problem where my local drives are not detected during installation. NAS logical drives are detected.

    The processor is E5620.

I first tried with the image not specified for HP, then also that I found good site HP, two ESX 5.5 U1. Same behavior.

I have still a start-up Win 2 K 3 R2 on the server and the array controller works fine, there are 3 SAS RAID1 + spare drives. A logical drive.

I updated FW P410i version 6.00 - 2. I ran 8.7 B PSP update which can be updated. Still no effect. I even tested it on its host (without updateing) 2nd future cluster, but it does the same thing.

I pressume I do something wrong maybe, because it detects old Array P400 controllers on other places, so should it also the new.

Can't really change the controller of Bay physically, as I do remotely.

Tips are welcome. If more information is needed, I'll be happy to add it.

    Thank you

    Karl

I don't know why... but the local drive was there, it was only listed as a remote control.

  • RHEL 4.6 4.7 upgrade on ESXi 3.5 NOT detect existing RHEL AS 4.6

I'm trying to upgrade a RHEL on ESXi 3.5 to 4.6 RHEL 4.6.  It's 32-bit VERSION of RHEL.  I mounted the DVD (I also mounted the ISO) and when starting of the machine, the upgrade option is never presented.  Its like the existing RHEL 4.6 is not detected and therefore the upgrade option is NOT show.  The only option is to do a fresh install.

Not sure if this is a problem of Red Hat or a problem of EXSi 3.5.  But I thought I'd post here in case there is a known issue.

Also, I thought that I would also like to try this with rhe RHEL 5.4 DVD.  Same thing.  No upgrade option is presented.

I did the upgrade from 4.6 to 4.7 on another machine with a different client (where I actually did the RHEL 4.6 installation original) and the upgrade option was introduced immediately after hitting enter in the initial character base RHEL screen that displays when you start.  The upgrade went flawessly.  For this attempt, I also used a different, no vmware virtualization product.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Well, it's a matter of redhat.  the VM obvioiusly boots, so if you can boot from the DVD and clearly, it does not recognize the existing operating system, I would call Redhat to find out why...

BTW, if you call Redhat they have no need to know this is a virtual machine, cordially.  WHAT you should know is that you can't do a upgrade... Because it's 100% a Redhat issue.

  • Reinstalled Windows Vista 32 bit on my 64-bit computer. Does not detect not NIC

I was running a Windows 7 on a 64-bit computer. A Lenovo Thinkpad, due to some strange reason, that my computer has started to slow down and suspended. I ran all kinds of tests to see if it was a virus, but the computer is clean as a whistle.

I decided to reinstall the operating system to see if it was a HARD drive problem or just software. I couldn't find my windows 7 ultimate DVD so I installed the Vista 32 bit and it works fine. The only problem that I face, it's that his does not detect does not the wireless network card. I went to control panel > Device Manager > network adapters and can't find LAN options.
I'm sure that the wireless adapter exists because I used it for more than 6 months.

  • Designjet 110Plus NR: HP Designjet 110 Plus NR Maintenance Utility does not detect printer

    Hello

I have a Designjet 110 Plus NR printer that prints, but when you use the maintenance utility, it does not detect printer. I downloaded the latest version H.06.0 and am able to install it. but when the search for the printer it will not find it, and I have no way to pinpoint it too my printer. I have the printer connected to my computer via the USB port on a docking station HP residing in my laptop (Elitebook 800 G1 win 7 pro x 64). Also, it is connected via a parallel to the NIC dongle to make it available on the network for everyone to print too so. All can print, I can print but the Cyan is not always print and before you buy new print heads, I would like to clean and align with the Maintenance Utility. I tried to use the printer in the dock station, plugging directly into the laptop and the network to connect, but won't find printer. I tried the alignment of the front that I found in other forums, and it did not work. Whenever I went to the printer, I uninstalled all drivers and and the computer and rebooted system maintenance utilities. I installed the drivers from the HP website, from the disc initially supplied with the printer and our network, still no change print server. Am still able to print but not to run diagnostics or alignments. I've scoured the forums HP and all the "recommended" patches have never someone who in fact confirms the
'Fix' worked. Can someone help with this problem? It has been about 4 days that I'm looking into this and frankly it's kinda ridicolous saw that it's a plug-and-play printer. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

Well, the network adapter has failed. I managed to install the software, but he gave a generic IP address of the printer and gave me the same mistake of not being able to communicate with the printer. So, I pulled up an old laptop XP downloaded the drivers from the HP site, rebooted, printed the test page with success and installed the system maintenance utility. And WHOLA, I saw the printer immediately in the USB of Maintenance section and was able to run the diagnostic page and determine our problem. Thanks again for your help Mike!

  • Qosmio G10-133 - battery not detected after upgrading to Windows 7

Hello, I hope someone can help my frustrations here.

In recent weeks, I successfully upgraded my laptop to Windows 7, an increase of memory to 2 GB, bought new power cord for laptop, new battery and resolved all the issues that Windows 7 has cast on me. The laptop and runs like one dream other than a question that seems to have had worse.

The laptop no longer recognizes the new battery. (battery with a cross through it and a photo of current) For about a week after installing the battery, this has worked fine but now does not detect everything. I don't have any errors in Device Manager and windows recognized the ACPI etc battery inputs and has no problem. I also loaded the package of Toshiba value added that Windows 7 has found for me but still nothing. Battery not charge even though sometimes the battery works for about 30 seconds to start up if the battery is back removed and implemented, then stops again (once Windows loaded) I tried many things like the disabling of the driver, reinstall battery etc, but nothing. I tried the iniitally of battery with Windows XP and worked well.

I have also searched the web and saw that many other laptops with Windows 7 have had this problem, including Toshibas. Some say update the BIOS, but Toshiba have not released an upgrade from the original in 2004 (which is for WIn XP Media Center), and there is no settings in my BIOS for ACPI etc.

In addition, I can not calibrate the battery because I can't do anything with it. I don't think it's a question though.

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it or all the links to the drivers etc.

If this is sorted my laptop should last for 5 years!

    Thanks for reading this.

    Dickie

    Hello

First of all, I doubt that many other laptops equipped with Windows 7 have this problem. I've never heard of this and normally charge the battery will not be controlled of the OS. It happens automatically and your battery will be charged if the AC/DC is plugged. If the OS doesn't affect it!

To be honest, I also don t know why your battery isn't detected, but what happens if you turn off the laptop and let the AC/DC adapter plugged in for 24 hours? After that, it should be possible to work on the minute of the battery for 1 hour or more.

If this isn't the case, it seems to be a hardware problem, maybe the battery doesn t work correctly and should be replaced. You should contact the retailer where you bought

By the way: some nice and interesting tips on battery:

    Hello!

You will find hundreds of discussions here in the forum about this, if you install Windows XP and Vista from a Microsoft disc and the HARD drive can't be detected... So he s strange to read these questions again and again.

However, to install Windows, you need the SATA drivers or let's say the Intel Storage Manager package. It contains the driver you need. You can then create a new installation using nLite [www.nliteos.com]
Or look you at this Toshiba document: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm
