ESXi 5.5 Windows 10 VM Crash daily
We started to deploy Windows 10 VMs in our environment, and we have a really weird question with them. Every 24 hours, since the last start of the system, the virtual machine will crash. Even more strange is that the time increases by 15 minutes each time. If a virtual machine crashes at 10:00, the next day, he would break right around 10:15, constantly growing for about 15 minutes. Event Viewer Windows shows only the following event.
Update to the latest version of ESXi tried and updated tools and it still occurs. I also disabled the automatic restart in case of failure in Windows system cooled a BSOD, but always just, it freezes and boots to the top. Google has given virtually nothing for it. An overview of this would be surprising.
Versions:
vCenter 5.5.0 - 3252642
5.5.0 - 3343343 and 5.5.0 - 3116895 ESXi
It turns out that what was happening because of some sort of bug with windows 10 using a sata cd drive device. Change the cd drive to use IDE it is resolved.

Last updated on Windows 7 cause "Crash Dump" on my computer.
Last updated on Windows 7 cause "Crash Dump" on my computer. Watch journal update KB2264107 and KB2454826 will not settle. I do a system restore to get back. I tried the "auto update" three times.
KB2454826 was fired shortly after its initial release, January 11, 2011. Revised (for example, fixed) versions of KB2454826 have been re-published February 8, 2011.NB: KB2454826 is an update Important/recommended, it's always an option, not the security update (from this edition). That being said, we now know that KB2454826 is a prerequisite for the update for IE9. As it will probably be a prerequisite update for SP1 of Win7, too, you probably don't want to hide.
KB2264107 is an option, not the security update. Feel free to hide it.

Windows Media Center crashes on Vista when you try to play Netflix
I can connect to Netflix and discover my queue and all the rest. I can view the details of the episodes and so forth, but when I click on 'Play', Windows Media Center crashes and restarts itself - every time.
There are other problems in Windows Media Center. Sometimes it freezes during the display of other media, such as Internet TV. I had my computer more than a year, and this is the first time I tried to use Windows Media Center, so I don't know if it worked before.
I tried to find an update for it, but all that I've tried say that it applies to my system. (I always install the automatic updates). I also ran the Fix It program, which says it completed, but which did not help.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi farrelldoc,
1. What is the error message you receive library breaks down?
2. did you of recent changes on the computer?
3. what Microsoft fixit did you run on the computer?
There is a known issue on some computers that have a chain very long user agent in Windows Internet Explorer. This problem occurs when the user-agent string exceeds 260 characters. There is currently no work around supported for that matter.
For more information, see the Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned below.
Known issues and limitations of Netflix on Windows Media Center for Windows Vista
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/972496
For the Windows media center crashes when viewing other media issue try the following procedure.
It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
I hope this helps!

Windows XP, SP3, it worked fine. Suddenly Windows/Microsoft Update crashes and uses all the CPU while trying to assess what needs to be updated. The only way to stop him is to kill the process.
A ran Fixit from Microsoft (support.microsoft.com/kb949104), who said that he repaired the window update, but could not fix "problems installing the recent updates. Nothing else was not fixed.

If I look at the properties of the de...\System32\wuaueng.dll I have the most recent version for XP (7.6.7600.256).
I know that the support for XP will end this year, but I want to Microsoft Update to work down there.
Any help appreciated. Thank you
You are welcome.
How about that. Don't you love it when a plan comes together? Windows updates only or material for pilots also and then update windows is good, but for a more broad ability of other applications Microsoft, then Microsoft Update and Office update is good for a shopping for updates of every Microsoft product you have.
You suppose wrongly, and I thought I answered this before. Technically, you can re-enable the automatic updates but that will require you disabling updates every Monday just before black Tuesday and then manually download and install the cumulative security update newly released and restart before you activate the updates automatic (or notifications only) once more. It is more reliable just disable automatic updates and do not have the headache. Disable the horse of notification that is displayed in the status bar, and that you don't mind.
Please mark this thread as a response. Thank you.
To not argue the point, but XP users required the kind of brilliant 'support' who gave XP since the time of the IE7 to IE8 'false upgrade' users XP need like a hole in the head.

My windows photo gallery crashes - which means closing. I need to copy photos from the Gallery to another folder. It crashed almost seconds after I opened the program. How can I move the photos to the photo gallery to another folder without opening the application of photo gallery. I want to do this before you have to fix the app, just in case - so I do not lose my photos. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for your response. I will try the solution in the article, but I can't always find where photos are archived. I tried to look in the folder as you suggested, but my photos are not there. Other thoughts? I'm scouring the reader to find it but no luck so far...

right click on windows Explorer causes crash! Sometimes when I try to empty the trash, it also blocks? I use windows 7?
Right-click accidents are caused by third-party shell extensions. To identify the culprit, you must use a utility like ShellExView and disable context menus not Microsoft managers one by one (or disable items in a batch) and observe.

Windows 7: Windows Explorer keeps crashing and restarting
Hi all
I've had the problem for a few weeks now and it's really annoying. As the title says windows guard Explorer crashing, then restarting itself. In general seems to happen when I am clicking on my files. When I try to rename a file or folder, then it happens a lot. Less when the opening everything.
I'm using a relatively old Samsung laptop. Probably had around ish 2009. Don't know what other info can be useful. Let me know and I'll do my best to find out.
I did not do anything to try to remedy the situation that I didn't know what to do. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help
To solve most computer problems, it allows to watch the evidence available in the system information file and Event Viewer logs. An experienced eye can choose needles in a haystack and see more clearly the precise nature of the problem or problems.
Please provide a copy of your system information file. Type the system information in the search box above the Start button and press the ENTER key (alternative is select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, system information). Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Not to place the cursor in the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new information file system each time system information is available. You must allow a minute or two before the file is completely filled before exporting a copy. Please download to your OneDrive (formerly Sky Drive), share with everyone and post a link here. Normal mode preferred report. Please say if the report was obtained in safe mode.
Please download and share with everybody fresh copies of your System and your event viewer on your Player Application logs One (formerly Sky Drive) and post a link here. You can delete the earlier copy of your OneDrive records.
To access the system, log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window, expand Windows logs and select System. Place the cursor on the system, select the Action in the Menu and record all events like (the evtx default file type) and give a name to the file. Do the same for the application log. Do not offer not filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting the Action from the menu. Do not clear the logs so that you have a persistent problem.
