Even-odd rule of compound

Hi all

Is there a way to change the rule of footsteps transparent in Photoshop?  I'm basically, creating a unique shape and try to avoid this type of exclusion, where intersect subtract filling:

Screen Shot 2016-05-23 at 11.44.47 AM.png

Some people have suggested creating a new anchor point to the intersection, but makes it more difficult to create a smoother curve.  I have constantly been researching online and have only with solutions for Illustrator, such as articles like this (unfortunately I am not Illustrator).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Karen

In fact, thanks to this suggestion and Trevor, I fell really on a solution similar/alternative which is not completely smooth, but:

I select the points of a part of a form that crosses another, surrounded by green.

Then, I hit Cmd + J, shape through copy layer (or Shift + Cmd + J to shape via Cut layer - I will explain why the lowest difference).

I make sure that I do this for all areas of this form that crosses, which, for me, these two points:

If I hide the main layer 'W', the form elements look like this (layers ' copy w 2 "and"copy w 3 "):

Then, I select all layers of shape and press Cmd + E to merge the layers.

Now, all of them are in a single form.

On why I have to do a shape via Cut layer, some via Copy - I did not understand why, but...

Case 1: I "shape layer by copying" for both and merged.  Somehow, after that I selected all the points and click "merge elements of form", I had as a vector for a hundred points to the right intersection but got only four at the intersection of left.

Case #2: I "shape layer by copying" for the intersection left (because it worked), but "layer via cut shape" for the right intersection.  Instead of using "merge components", I chose "combine shapes' somehow it gave me what I wanted:

I do this in other areas vectorized and honestly it was a hit or miss, when I copy vs. cut or if I use combining forms vs. merge elements of form.

Thank you @R_Kelly and @Trevor.Dennis for your help, it was incredibly informative and useful!

  • page numbering even/odd

Help I have a 100 page pdf document

    I need the odd page numbers 1A, 2A, 3A...

    and even page numbers 1 b, 2 b, 3 b...

Basically all the front sides are a number with 'a '.

and on the rear side with 'b '.

    but they all have both need to be the same number: 1a & 1B, 2A & 2B, 3A & 3B

    I hope that makes sense.

You can do this by using tools > Pages > order header & footer. First, add the page number for the odd pages and then use the update feature to add page numbers. This is a reference to screen capture.

  • Placement of different object for even\odd importing PDF pages

I've been to import multiple PDF files (each file has from 100 to 650 pages) and I'm a complete newbie to Indesign.

When I import a file (using the super cool Script of MulipageImporter) I can put all the pages with the same offset (tell-0.7-0.7) which places the odd pages in the correct location, but the pages should be placed in (1, -0.7).  (shifts will vary according to the size of the pdf page)

  • Bleed custom page even/odd numbers

    Hello

I rarely use InDesign, so that might be a noob question!

I print my portfolio, much like a book with a binding German.

The printer told me to 1/8 inch of the purge on each side of the pages and 1/4 inch on the side of the link.

It will be that both sides printed, so I guess that my 1/4 inch alternates from left to right, depending on whether the page is same or od numbered, right?

But in InDesign when I change the purge it changes for the whole document, all pages.

Is it possible to apply a bleeding customized on each page, or at least a different value for the odd pages?

    Thank you very much!

    Carl

Set up your document as facing Pages, and then set the bleed for inside a.25 and other a.125.

If you have images that are dying in the link to the page, but do not exceed, you will need to "split" the spread. "" See InDesignSecrets "Blog Archive" breaking Pages hand to bleed off the coast of a thorn

  • format changes and odd on the insertion of page

    Hello

I'm carrying a book. I have facing pages set up in my model. The even pages and odd pages each have different formats, with a larger inside margin to allow the link.

Insertion of a single page of new forces all even pages become odd pages and even odd all odd to become that breaks the formatting.

    How can I fix?

    Thank you very much!

If you use facing pages, you add pages in multiples of two. If necessary, use a blank page.

I started on Illustrator and I have your opinion on the best way to reproduce this game of concentric circles... Under I am CS6!

    Thank you pour your advice!

    Robin

    Robin,

If I (put) understand (you want cuts in parts of the shown circles and you want to change the color of these environments), you can fix both if you:

    (1) select the clipping mask and object > clipping mask > release.

    (2) select the circles and change the color (you can select them with the direct Selection tool without letting go of the mask, but you will need to release anyroad);

    (3) create the cuts as described in the first post, in the last paragraph (see below), and then select the entire document and opposition > clipping mask > make to reapply.

Once you have the circles, you can create the circle (or if she) path to the related to them, select all and opposition > clipping mask > make. If you need cutouts like the circle and the e, you can start creating those on top of the track and object encompassing > compound path > make (if you have indications of the exact path, you can correct in the attributes palette if necessary (use Even-Odd winding rule)), or you can window > Pathfinder (pallet) > less front

    Wim,

You can describe the Type, check use even - Odd fill rule, select all and oppose > compound path > Make (transparent white).

  • Tracks composed vs transparent forms

    Hi all

I have to do a presentation on the paths and the pathfinder, and one of the themes I would like to cover are composed of paths/compound forms. Myself I do not really know the fundamental difference. I searched all over the Internet for a fundamental difference between these two, but I can't seem to find a solid answer.

Can anyone clarify this a little better for me?

How these same would be useful when you work in Illustrator?

I am running Illustrator CS4 on Mac.

    Thanks in advance.

Transparent traces are a fairly old method to combine two or more paths. After combining them, they act as a single path (and are listed as a path in the layer panel). Will they build a hole or are combined in other ways is defined by the fill rule, you choose in the attribute palette: not zero or even-odd (you will find a lot of material on the single fill rule, since it is a common concept in vector graphics).

Compound shape are an Illustrator-idea to combine two or more paths using patterns of the form. The form mode, you choose defines the shape which is built. Compound forms may have a hierarchy, in other words, there may be forms as children of forms. You can choose different shape inside a compound complex shape modes.

Compound shapes can be transferred between Illustrator and Photoshop. Photoshop uses them as well.
