  Hi, I'm new to blackberry. What I want is I want to take a key event (green or red button) when the device is locked and do specific tasks in my application that runs in the background if this button is pressed. Is this possible? How can I do?

  Just to be 100% accurate, it is possible for a keyListener (look to the top of the class) to pick up some events even when running in the background.  It can be different events when the device is locked.  Indeed, the events may be different depending on whether the "locked" screen is currently displayed or not. And the entire lot is dependent on operating system level, in other words, the same device running two different levels of OS will possess differently in terms of what keys can detect a listener in the background.

  So if you have a BONE and a specific device, so it might be something you can do, especially if it is an older operating system.  However if you try to create something that works generically, then know that I've tried and failed!.

• Awkward mouse event code

  I did this code clumsy to activate the dial pointer when the mouse is held down a button using two functions - with the mouse down and the other on the mouse upward...

  Don't know why you think that your code is "awkward" If you want to shorten your code, then you can combine the two functions in one like this:

• Satellite P100-10U preinstalled Vista cannot read DVD - event code 11

  I m really surprised because such error problem should be resolved after the installation of the new operating system.
  More as you already suggested the filter upstream and downstream in the registry key are mainly responsible for these strange drive problems.

  In any case, I recommend to remove the drive from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the CD/DVD drive again. You should see a message as new device has been installed or something like that

  In addition, it would be desirable to use a system like CCleaner repair program. It s freeware!

  Finally, you should check the registry again if the upper and lower filter exists and delete it.
  Don t forget to reboot the device.

  I am trying to build a program runs on a windows CE of touch screen system and tested the majority of individual components to see that they work on the system and they have all been successful, however when I build and try to run the entire program, I am presented with a popup box saying:

  App failed. Error code 70897003. Cannot lock the memory segment.

  The program then stops completely. I tried to search the web and the forums, but this specific error code is not mentioned anywhere, and the information that I have known impossible to segment errors memory locking has not been very useful and how to solve this problem.

  Any suggestion or help would be very appreciated.

  OK, so I solved the problem myself, it turns out that's not at all a problem of backend, in my front panel I accidentally overlapped 2 resulting in a being placed inside the other tab controls. Move them so they are not stacked and the problem is solved.

  So moral of the story if someone gets this error in the future, check your tab controls are not overlapping / stacked.

  Yes, there could be situations where you can not apply a State locked in a pageItem.
  We need to know what exactly is this causing.

  PageItems anchored in overset text, perhaps?
  PageItems anchored in the tables?
  Graphic images in the graphics cells?

  Locks are available in blocks that contain the data. To clear the locks Oracle will have to return on each block. This can be a very expensive operation - even equivalent to a full table scan. Because Oracle knows that no other session can access data, he also knows that he can ignore this potentially expensive operation.

  In short, there is NOTHING to be gained by releasing the locks but a lot to lose.

  Regarding the answer to why Oracle that bothers to put the locks? Temporary tables have no line when the session begins and if all lines are created locks can be placed at the same time, the data is added to the block using the normal code of the Oracles path.

  In short, there is NO COST to add the locks using the path of the normal code. Then what good creating a new path of code to avoid adding locks?

  Procedure P1 updates table t4 == put the lock on the table, and then calls the procedure P2.
  Procedure P2 tries to update the table t4, but it is locked by the P1 procedure.
  P2 will have to wait for P1 to unlock procedure (commit or rollback) table t4, but...
  This would never happen, that P2 is called from P1 before validation - where a Dead lock...
