Event ID 1003

Hello. I have a laptop more under XP SP3 with 2 GB RAM max. Once in awhile, he will restart spontaneously and when it is started, it will say that Windows has recovered from a serious error, and I send the error report.  I go into the event viewer and the error has event ID 1003. Google said that it is a driver problem and try and update all device drivers. Well, it's an old system and there is no update driver. Have also checked for virus/malware and chkdsk, but they have no problem. Thought it might be a heating problem or a memory problem, but that seems to be normal as well. Is there anything else that could be recommended to track down the problem? It seems to run OK afterwards, but only I was wondering if I'm heading to a serious system failure. Thanks in advance.

t can help watch files minidump against accidents with a debugger.

Can you zip the minidump in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder files and (provide link) available via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

The following link has information about the use of Windows Live SkyDrive:

http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02dB-4665-993a-08d865088d65

If you have problems to compress the minidump files copy the minidump files to another location such as a folder on the desktop

In addition, you do not necessarily have compress the minidump files, you can download one at a time.

  • error code 1003 and 1015 computer keeps freezing upwards

Hi, I'm on a computer Athlon 2000 + and Windows XP SP3. For these months, my computer kept freezing up and I can only reset it. It happens constantly and resets a half-dozen arrived on the internet, where I can get 5 minutes or 2 hours before it stops again. I've included a few events (see below) copied from the Clipboard. My Event Viewer is full of them, always the same two events. Seems to be something in the registry, but I really don't know enough to do something about it. Can you help me please?

    Event type: WARNING
    Event source: EvntAgnt

    Event type: WARNING

    Event ID: 1003
    Date: 2010-11-18
    Duration: 03:07:46
    User: n/a
    Computer: ATHLON
    Description:
TraceFileName parameter not found in the registry. Default trace file used is.

Here is information on the events, but maybe it's not your only question... Start with that and then view the side of things:

The messages mean that components of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) are installed on your system, but have not been fully configured.

Here's the warning messages and no errors (Event Type: warning).

When SNMP tries to start with no details of the configuration, it tries to inform you the settings he needs are not in the registry where one would expect to find the information and he complains.  When SNMP tries to start with no parameters, it displays messages similar to this:

    Event type: WARNING
    Event source: EvntAgnt
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 1003

    Description:
TraceFileName parameter not found in the registry. Default trace file used is.

She is usually accompanied by an another warning message that looks like this:

    Event type: WARNING
    Event source: EvntAgnt
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 1015

    Description:
TraceLevel parameter not found in the registry. Trace default level used is 32.

Using SNMP services in your environment?  Most unique computer systems in a domestic environment don't use SNMP but sometimes it gets installed or activated by accident ot trying to solve another network or Internet related issue.
    .
If you don't use SNMP, just uninstall it because it is a waste of CPU cycles otherwise productive.  If you are using SNMP, you must configure it to have valid startup parameters.

You will find Simple Network Management Protocol in apotheosis of Add/Remove Programs, add/remove components Windows, the option of management and monitoring tools, and then click details...

Uncheck SNMP (and the WMI component) If you are not using them and very well your way out and then reboot your system and check the event viewer.

Some warning in Event Viewer messages are excusable when the system boots place... as other services depend on each other to run.  Continuous (same warnings) messages in the event viewer are annoying, if you hope that you would see only the White type 'i' of information messages when things are well experienced.

No messages in the event viewer should never defy reasonable explanation.

If your event (s) does not resemble those from above, maybe we should see what looks like your event (s).

Here is how to post an event to the event viewer in a message:

When you double-click on an event, it will open a window of properties with more information.  On the right are black up and down arrow keys to scroll through the open events. The third button that looks like two overlapping pages is used to copy the details of the event in your Windows Clipboard.

When you find an interesting event that occurred at the time of your question, click on the third button at the top and arrows to copy the details and then you can paste the details (right click, paste or CTRL-V) the text in detail here for analysis.

If it is your desire, remove any personal information attached (such as user, computer).

To get a fresh start on any log of the event viewer, you can choose to clear the log (the log backup is available), then reproduce your problem, then view only the events at the time of your problem.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

    RADO

    Hey Rado

    > Can you clarify what you mean by getting the system to install after formatting the drive?
I think the Macdreamy means that you must use the original Toshiba Recovery CD to reinstall the system on your laptop.
The point is that this error could occur if some system files needed and indispensable are damage/deleted/changed.

    > the first time I have install my XP Toshiba no key was necessary, but I don't know about the second formatting and I have Vista key on the bottom of the laptop. Do you know how is the situation with the XP key in this case?
AFAIK the image of Toshiba (on the Toshiba Recovery CD) is already activated and you n t need no key to activation of the OS.
The key at the bottom of the device belongs to the image installed and it cannot be used with the second operating system of Windows XP!
If you want to use and install XP on this machine need you an original MS Windows XP CD with the right key!

    However, the recovery procedure;
Simply put the recovery CD in the CD drive / DVD-> recovery CD boot-> follow the instructions and shortly after, the new operating system with all Toshiba drivers and tools must be installed correctly.

But note; As Macdreamy said that the data backup may be necessary because the recovery CD formats the entire HARD drive.

    Good luck

Looks like the new HARD drive may be defective sectors
You should check the disk with Drive Fitness Test for example or another tool.

S most BSOD are related to faulty RAM memory or HARD drive modules

System Restore work? If so, then use a created point restoration before the attempted update 09/01/2011.
The restore points created by Windows Update will be called Software Distribution 3.0.
If there are restore points, use the one created just before the restore point of Software Distribution 1/9.

If the system restore does not work or there is no restore point created before the preceding, since you have the XP CD, you can try a repair Installation.
But, access denied errors, caused by inadequate security settings, can prevent the repair.
We can try to reset the security settings, but the paths showing the log event are strange, to say the least-

  • Get BSOD, Bad Pool Header with Mass Effect and Batman AA

The problem I have is that whenever I play Mass Effect or Batman Arkhum Asylum, they tend to crash randomly during the game with a BSOD saying Bad_Pool_Header. The games would be fine for awhile, then it would break any chance to this BSOD screen. I tried to figure if these 2 games is in conflict with something, but I'm having a hard time to do this. Those are the only 2 games that cause this problem. I can't understand why.

    Hello.

This error code and the behavior you describe tells me you have a hardware problem with your machine.  With time to amend the BSOD, I would say the problem is a problem of overheating.  Take the machine to a service centre/repairman good reputation.

  • System shuts down randomly.

    Hello

1 have you done with the hardware changes to your computer lately?

I think it's an IRQL not less than or equal stop error, it is usually a device driver that requires.

I suggest that you follow these steps and check to see if they help.

    Step 1:

Disable the automatic restart in case of system error:

    a. restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    b. use the arrows to choose to disable automatic reboot failure system to the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.

    Step 2:

Although the error code cannot be bound, you can follow all the measures applicable from this article and see if the problem still occurs.

First you need to set up your system (if it isn't already) to do not automatically restart on system failure and generate a crash dump file that can be analyzed to focus on the problem.  Which will remove the maybe, perhaps, could be, probably a few pilot... ideas.

If you can make it fail when you want while playing your game, which should make things easier.

You are unlikely to find enough clues in case the viewer connects to understand what is happening.

Configure your system does not automatically restart on system failure (this is what he wants to do):

Right click my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery settings.

    In the system failure section:

Put a check mark in the box "write an event to the system log.

Put a check mark in the box "send an administrative alert.

    Uncheck 'automatically restart '.

In the Write debugging information section select:

    Partial dump (64 KB)

    Set the directory small dumpster:

    %SystemRoot%\Minidump

    Click OK, OK.

    Restart your computer.

As Gerry C J Cornell says, you can post your dumps up to your SkyDrive and I (or someone else) will be pleased to hear, but that may not be necessary for to do you the following things.  Well... I'll be happy to do so, I can't speak for everyone!

Now, follow these instructions...  One day, maybe the "ask a question" of forums XP dialog box will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.
Please provide additional information on your system:
What is your system brand and model?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
Can you make the system crash when you want
?  For example, you would say that there is no specific system activity that coincides with the accidents (like watching videos, playing games, etc.).
The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Now provide more information about your system and data against more recent accidents.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
    Msinfo32
Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.
For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.
There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.
This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.
    Download BlueScreenView here:
Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files.
If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).
Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files.  Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).
Click on file, save selected items and save information from the dumps to a text file on your desktop called BSOD.txt
.  Open BSOD.txt with a text editor, copy the text and paste it in your next reply.
Here's an example of report ASB to a single BSOD I initiated on purpose that indicates the cause of the accident as the pilot i8042prt.sys belonging to Microsoft Corporation:

  • Activation of Windows 8 on the domain network with the VAMT 3 (v6.2.9200.0) tool hosted on Server 2008 R2.

    Hello

I am trying to activate a Windows 8 Pro machine on the network of our field.
In preparation to win 8, I had already discovered the obligation to upgrade VAMT 2 to 3 and I downloaded the ADK and installed 3 VAMT (v6.2.9200.0) on the necessary 2008 R2 server with SQL 2008.
It's a simple process and the service of the VAMT tool is running. I have installed all required keys, whose VAMT is quite satisfied.
I also installed KB2757817, which is required when you run VAMT 3 tool on 2008 R2.
I run slmgr /dlv to verify that the server is functioning properly and that he got an active response.
VAMT found many existing PC to Windows 7 and Office 14, which have been established against the keys KMS we received an envelope. That tells me that the KMS service is running with happiness.

To make sure I looked at the Server Manager event logs. KMS watch log many event 12290, where the server is conclusion machines on the network, however the PC Windows 8 in these events will return an 0xC004F042 error code in their data, but Windows 7 PCs return 0x0 in their data.
The VAMT tool on the server log shows an error event 1000 VAMT Runtime.
To do this, the data are:
Error when update products: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800706BA): the RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA) at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal (Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo) at System.Management.ManagementScope.InitializeGuts (Object o) at System.Management.ManagementScope.Initialize () at System.Management.ManagementScope.Connect () at Microsoft.Licensing.VolumeActivation.WmiConnection.Connect () at Microsoft.Licensing.VolumeActivation.UpdateProductsProvider.RefreshMachineGenericInformation () at Microsoft.Licensing.VolumeActivation.UpdateProductsProvider.UpdateProducts () on the machine using credentials
On the pc of Windows 8, I ran the slmgr /dlv, that tells me as the ends of product key: J8CK4, however my KMS - keys on the ends of the server: FKQW7. This report also says that I need to run slmgr /ato to activate the machine? (Isn't this defeat the point of a KMS server if each machine must be activated in the personalized decoration?)
The KMS on the PC log is empty. The application log howerver, contains the following: -.
Information event ID 12288 - the client sent an activation request. (The data for this show the IP address of the server VAMT, so his attempts to connect with the right server.)
Information event ID 1003 - software protection service has completed to verify the license status.
ID 8198 error event - Activation of licenses (slui.exe) failed with the following error code: hr = 0xC004F074.
As our network has its own firewall, I have disabled the firewall on all internal machines on the field so there should not be any restrictions on network services or protocols.
The RPC service is running on the server and the computer of Windows 8.
As you can see, this becomes a bit frustrating, especially as the server of the VAMT tool works very well with all Windows 7 and 2008 machines on the field.
I looked on the internet for all existing media or documents in this regard, but most point to upgrade to the 6.2.9200 version of the VAMT tool, which I am already running.
You may be able to offer any assistance would be much appreciated.
    Thank you
    Barry.
