  "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

  In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

  This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

  most counsumer laptop touchpad leftside corner has for the touchpad toggle switch. If you tap on this area, it will be enable and disable the touchpad. Once disabled, you get the hand with the red line.

  Please avoid pressing on the area on the side right touchpad upper-left that turned on like a light switch.

  Try the following steps to start a process of the Windows Explorer and check the result.
  a. start your computer and boot to the desktop.
  b. press CTRL + ALT + DELETE, and then click Manager tasks.
  c. click on the file menu, click New task (run...).
  d. type % windir%\explorer.exe, and then click ok.

• When I restarted the computer, all the icons and the Start button are left so far I don't see more than words stretched far to the left

  The screen is stretched so far left start button and most of the icons are off the screen.  I clicked blindly off the screen until I found the internet E. I found no where to find help for this problem. When I arrived at my home page I tried to move around the screen using the top bar... which did not work.   I've seen that happen periodically, but it is easy enough to fix. Simply remove the icon from your dock. Then re-create by dragging the Firefox icon in the doc from the applications folder.

  Firefox is designated as my default browser. When I go to Options/advanced/system default Options in Firefox, "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup" is checked. When I click on the button "Check now", he confirms that "Firefox is already set as the default browser".   May be connected (who knows?): when I click on a link on a Web page to download a file (perhaps the latest version of Firefox), the Save dialog box that appears almost always displays the name of the file without the extension. For example, I tried just to download the installer of Firefox. Rather than display the name as Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe, it displays Firefox Setup 13.0.1. The file type is listed as "binary". Every once in a while (maybe one in ten trials), if I leave then relaunch Firefox, immediately return to the download page and click again on the link of the file, the file name and the file type will be displayed correctly. Almost always, I have to resort to using some other browser to download the file.

  I tried to clear the cache of the browser; Firefox reset of the about: support page; install a new copy by downloading the installer from the Mozilla site. None of that helped him.
