Examples of Bluetooth

Hello

Since I'm totally new to the BB10 experience, this could be an easy one.

I need a code example in support of three different scenarios.

1. a configuration screen where you can analyze and detect BT remote devices in the vicinity, pair it with a device and store its friendly name.

2. a monitor routine (hang) in order to run each time that the remote device is automatically associated with later (with consumption of low battery as possible)

3. a routine of monitor to be able to run whenever the BT connection is losted.

Can you please help me with how this is done in C++ and through waterfalls or native?

Thanks in advance.

/ Jorgen

  • Can I change the names of the devices connected by Bluetooth to make them more recognizable?

I have a number of devices that can be connected by Bluetooth, for example, speakers, keyboards, etc. It is often difficult to remember the descriptive name that many of them are similar, for example "keyboard Bluetooth."

These names can be changed so that they are easily recognizable, for example of a number/letter combination to tell LG amplifier?

Right click on the device in the Bluetooth system preferences and select Rename.

  • Bluetooth using RFCOMM Sockets

    Hello

I'm working on a project that requires LabVIEW communicate with a raspberry Bluetooth Pi. The Pi is running Python and using PyBluez to the side of Bluetooth.

Preference LabVIEW will connect to IP using a Socket Bluetooth on RFCOMM, however I can't find a way to open a socket in LabVIEW, only one channel. With the help of the RFCOMM VI build LabVIEW, I am able to see the IP (the name of the device and MAC themselves) but not connect to it.

Does anyone know if this is even possible? I am currently using LabVIEW 2013 but the upgrade to a later version is an option if this support is included.

    See you soon,.

    Darren.

    Hi DazzaNL,

You try to use LabVIEW as a server or a Client? If you use LabVIEW as a customer, you should be able to use the open connection VI Bluetooth to connect to a server.

The examples for Bluetooth with LabVIEW locations are given in this paper and include an example of using LabVIEW as a server:

  • To automatically reconnect Bluetooth

Hi, I have a vi that connects to a Bluetooth transceiver and collects and plots / stores incoming data. The connection is initiated by the user on the front panel.  However, sometimes LabVIEW gives me a connection error, sometimes it's once an hour, sometimes it's once every 24 hours, and I have to manually start the connection.  I was wondering if there is a way to design a vi that is always looking for a connection, so if the connection is lost it reconnects automatically.  I see that there is no sample Bluetooth screws that come with LabVIEW (2010), would one of these work?

    Hi baseball07,

The example of "Advanced Blueooth Server.vi" (go to help > examples > Search bluetooth and it should appear in the list) should be a good place to start. It shows how to connect to several headphones at the same time, using the listener to create function.

Thus, it shows how to use the Bluetooth to waiting on the listener function. In this example, VI, if you catch an error Connection Timed Out or connection closed, you stop the loop and close. You can change this so that if you receive this error message create you a flag to show that a shift has occurred, but rather to stop, continue the loop outside while Cook waiting for Bluetooth on the State of the listener. As long the device he always tries to connect, you should be able to reconnect automatically on the bluetooth device.

    I hope this helps!

  • How to prioritize the connection of the PHONE in CAR Bluetooth system / device on SmartBand talk SWR30

After reviewing on this device for over a month I asked my wife to gift me for Christmas. For 3 days I really liked, but then a critical flaw is apparent

Having not driven for several days because of the holidays, I'm leaving in my car, only to realize that I wasn't getting phone calls, text Messages and other notifications on my car bluetooth system integrated (Ford Sync of Sony / Microsoft), only on the talk Smartband. Doing some research, it became clear that if my SWR30 was already connected with my Xperia (Z2) my Ford Sync could not connect!

I realize the limitations of Bluetooth technology (for example, you can not simultaneous connections using the same Bluetooth profile) and the workaround is to manually turn off the Audio from the phone (hands-free) for SWR30 in Z2 Bluetooth profile. Don't forget to turn off off / return turns out to be irritating and too much effort. I thought I might be able to create a (macro) event in app of Smart Connect from Sony to do this automatically, but this can be done that the app is rather limited!

It is more important for my car system works with my Z2 that I use frequently and is quite a safer and more average legal to answering calls etc.

A no matter what you have no idea or suggestion? I love this SmartBand (its a lot smoother and lighter than the real smartwatches) and I really want the talk function, but if I can't solve the problem of car bluetooth (and this will affect probably all other car systems Bluetooth / devices) easily and smoothly, with regret, the SWR30 will go back to the seller

As already said, I really like the SmartBand and was very disappointed to learn that he could not coexist with a Bluetooth car system! Having had a few days between Christmas and new year I was determined to solve this "loophole" and I'm happy to announce that I have and somehow smooth!

Suggestion widget-driven "ensaro", unfortunately, I didn't a rocker who was to be executed manually, it should be automatic. So I carefully studied the Google game shop, try a large number and ended up with 2 applications that were real contenders: Trigger (by Egomotion) and Automagic (by Gridvision).

Both apps will basically allow you to create a trigger (for example the Bluetooth car radio wants to connect to the phone) followed by an action (for example disconnect connection phone Bluetooth to SmartBand, followed by switch on Bluetooth car audio connection). Trigger calls this task automation a trigger, Automagic calls that a Flow.Trigger is fairly intuitive, visually, but unfortunately support for this supposedly highly rated app seems to no longer exist! It became very frustrating for me because sometimes it would not run (However, it allows also a widget manually run the task manually)... so I dug for the heavier weight Automagic!

AUTOMAGIC uses a dynamic flowchart, where you add a trigger, optional condition (true / false) and finally one or more actions. The style reminded me of my days of programming many years ago and logical nature excited me. The possibilities are huge and can scare some users looking for a quick result, but it's really very easy to use, especially when you have some of the somewhat "obscure" terms used (after all this, a German programmer of labour and some suggestions of translation may be required).

At the end of the day, I created 2 stream, connect to car via (SmartBand disconnect) system and then connection towards my car and the other to reconnect to the SmartBand not drive (the trigger being the car Bluetooth is is disconnected / unplugged). These flows is passive and apparently uses very little battery energy, execution when a trigger condition is matched, and so far, works well.

If someone wants to see how my stream are built, I'll be happy to email them. You open them directly in Automagic (go to their website allows you to download a 9 day trial version with up to 3 workflow)... my stream are embellished by additional measures, like turn off WiFi and play a sound when a connection took place... and most important of all there is a forum with a lot of help and examples and I was really happy when the progaming author , Martin, in fact, responded to a query...

    Problem sorted...! AUTOMAGIC worth £ 2.40 ...

I followed this post to another thread and it works:

I chose to upgrade my Sony Viao VPCJ12LPOE (desktop all-in-one computer) from Windows 7 to Windows 8.  The compatibility of Windows 8 Checker advised that I should I uninstall the drviers of Bluetooth of Broadcom (Widcomm) Windows 7 because they are incompatible.

After the upgrade to Windows 8, while the rest worked fine but I was left without means to connect Bluetooth devices to my PC. (a problem reported elsewhere in these forums.

I applied the following fix today and everything now works fine.

Bluetooth is an on-board unit that need compatible drivers Windows 8.

To repeat: I've updated two days ago and suffered the loss of my Bluetooth after having been advised to uninstall the driver Broadcom (Widdcomm) before the upgrade.

Today I installed Windows 8 compatible Broadcom Bluetooth driver from Lenovo web page (see link below) and since, I've added the following blue tooth devices successfully to my PC which is now running Windows 8 (all now the connection): my IPhone 4s, my IPad 3, my Panasonic music with IPod/IPhone docking station Center and my Lumia 800 Windows Phone works.

Copy and paste this link into your browser and download and install the Bluetooth Driver for Broadcom (R) s1blt3us17.exe listed.

You will then see the icon Bluetooth appears in your task bar in the lower right of the desktop you after a reboot.  Right click and select "add a Bluetooth device".  This will take you to the page of 'Device' in Windows 8.  Turn the unit that you wish to be added in the coupling mode and click on the + button of the unit.

Once added, stay patient and not go clicking around until windows has installed device drivers (progress bar blue small will appear under the name of the device).

Once completed, you find a new TILE will add on Windows 8 "splash screen" for each unit added.  Click on the tile for the device and the "set Bluetooth will start and appear on your screen.  From there, you will see the device you just added, and you can click on 'connect' (to link) and "disconnect" (to disconnect once connected).

I know that it works and my instructions here can trust completely.

    Good luck.  Trevor.

    Hello

I installed the Version of Enterprise 8.1 Win on my P70 - A Satellite. All devices in addition to ACPI\TOS620A\2 & DABA3FF & 2 are supported with the right drivers.

Does anyone know which device is, for example the Bluetooth Driver?
The Device Manager confirms that I have Bluetooth for Andoid, generic Bluetooth and Microsoft Bluetooth devices.

I have downloaded bfdp - 20131011113844.zip and run the exe file. I wonder this exe is not shows something like "Installed successfully" or more.

So I don't really know if Bluetooth is really installed and if Bluetooth is the question.

  • Using Apple Watch - how do I constantly monitor my heart rate during exercise

Using Apple Watch - how do I constantly monitor my heart rate during a workout?

Your heart rate. What it means, and where on Apple Watch you will find. -Apple Support

According to this link, it should be available - but I can't find it on my Apple Watch?

Is there a setting that needs to be enabled on it somewhere? The only place where I can see the heart rate is in the menu looks and there are only a few seconds? and takes awhile to show the heart rate.

    Hello

When you save a workout using integrated workout app, your heart rate will be measured continuously throughout the workout. During training, you can also choose what primary metric is shown on your dial, with choices including heart rate. At the end of the workout, the results include the heart rate data. Training sessions are also recorded in the implementation of the activity on your iPhone.

During the workout, to change the main metric indicated on the dial of the watch, slide on the side on this subject. Depending on your type of activity, the choice may include: time, active calories, total calories, heart rate, rhythm, speed and distance.

    More information:

Health and fitness data from other sources, iPhone, and Apple Watch are also aggregated within the health on iPhone app. Combined data is reflected in the application of health dashboard, which adjusts the results to avoid any double counting of data from different sources.

To see Apple Watch heart rate data and other sources (for example a Bluetooth chest monitor strap):

-On your iPhone, in the application of health (icon has a red heart on a white background), go to: data on health (tab) > Vitals > heart rate.

Data are displayed in graphical form (this can be added to the application of Health Dashboard by activating the setting here) as well as individual data points (via display all data).

See, for example: interference Bluetooth - iPhone and Apple Watch 6

A workaround is to place your watch in Airplane Mode for the duration of your drive:

  • BtCoreIf.dll

Instructions for use Bluetooth Broadcom Bluetooth enabled PDA is the following:

If your device uses Broadcom Bluetooth driver, install the driver Bluetooth WIDCOMM LabVIEW by manually copying LVBtw.dll from the labview\PDA\Utilities\Bluetooth directory to the Windows directory. Do not run Setup.exe and do not copy BtCoreIf.dll or BtSdkCE30.dll, if they already exist on the device.

I have two old Windows mobile 2003 PDA that will not run if I followed the above instructions to the letter. They will work however if I replace the BtCoreIf.dll existing with the last provided with LabVIEW.

My question is this: what is the effect to overwrite the old file and why OR that it should not be replaced?

    Thank you

    SSK

    Hi ssk

I discovered some information which I think will be useful to you. The DLL that "crash you" is, indeed, the Bluetooth connection wizard. It would seem that the DLL does not have to be crushed, because usually the DLL that exists on the device will be that corresponding to the current version of the associated driver. However in cases like yours, where the device does not work, it probably means that the DLL does not match the version of the driver available. By overwriting the existing DLL with one provided alongside the WIDCOMM LabVIEW driver, it is likely that the DLL versions and drivers were so compatible.

In general, the reason why OR recommend that the DLL cannot be replaced is because if pilots work anyway there is no need to replace the driver components (for example, the Bluetooth Connection Wizard). Instead we want to do is just copy over the DLL LVBtw, who provides the 'hooks' for LabVIEW communicate via Bluetooth using the current driver. Because in your case the drivers did not work in all cases, there should be no adverse replace the DLL in the manner described.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards

    Hello...

New user here just got the Acer Iconia W4-820 and love. Have a few questions

(1.) where I would buy a Micro HDMI Cable for use with the device to connect to a HDMI TV Source IE? I've been following loooking cable http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10253&cs_id=1025301&p_id=7556&seq=1&format=2 would this work for unity? 2.) where can I get a decent case with screen protector or one you would recommend?

3.) can I buy example external Bluetooth keyboard for unity and that you recommend?

4.), I have a spare MicroSDHC UHS-1 32 GB can I use this card with the tablet or I have to buy another card?

Yes, the Evo would be a better deal if you plan to use in the W4. This is probably what I would have bought if the Pro has not been for sale when I got it.

  • Is it possible to use the Apple Watch with bluetooth and data celular (for example in a remote area withouth wifi)?

    Apple Watch with bluetooth

    Hello

Apple Watch can still be used in conjunction with the matched iPhone (which is based on cellular services) in places where there is no Wi - Fi network.

The availability of some built-in and third-party applications can vary, depending on your cellular data settings and a network of cellular data speeds.

If your question relates also to longer term, it is not currently possible to update the software on Apple Watch unless the paired iPhone is connected to a Wi - Fi network.

Some built-in functions of Apple Watch can still be used even when the pair iPhone is not available via Bluetooth or Wi - Fi.
