Excel to Allen - Bradley CompactLogix .cvs file transfer

I am a new user of LabView and have not had the opportunity to go through training.

I have an urgent need to take an Excel spreadsheet (file = DX240_DB.csv) which has a range of 300 rows and 17 columns and send it to an array of Allen-Bradley CompactLogix L35E.

(Tagname = DX240_Data_Array, Data Type = 16-bit integer, Array Size = 300,17)

I'm going to a desktop computer (address = 10.10.10.179) via Ethernet to the programmable controller (10.10.10.180)

I was wondering if someone would have an example or a .vi which could be used to accomplish this transfer of data.

Hi J_Dogg,

You should be able to use DatSocket Read and insert the output of reading of the VI worksheet to the data of the old terminal. The two concerns here would be how to specify the source for the Read DataSocket connection and what kind of data goes in. In the first case, you can put the spreadsheet Excel on a URL and then specify this URL as the source. The kind of data that will is the variant, which means that Read DataSocket adapts to the nature of the data you feed. Please take a look at the example DS Reader.vi to understand how DataSocket Read is used. go to help > find examples and search for the above VI. I hope this helps!

  • Driver for Allen Bradley Compatlogix or ControLogix

Before the project I'm looking for a Lookout driver who could work with CompactLogix or ControLogix Allen Bradley PLCs, Ethernet/IP protocol. There are 5 pilots AB Lookout, I will need a driver that works fully with these robots.

Please, no server OPC of AB, no serial...

    Any recommendation?

Thanks to everyone who sent me their ideas and work around. I was looking for a direct driver in Lookout here talk CompactLogix AB and ControLogix PLC with Ethernet/IP protocol. But it is not to direct the driver to him, seems to me that the only way is using OPC Client/server like you guys, so I'll check the box as a response (or response) and close this topic.

I thought that the OPC of Lookout server will be good just to talk with other computers of Lookout, but I tried with Lookout 6.02. I had to put DCOM, and it worked! All the variables of abnd tags server-side appears in the client side!

Lookout is in itself a big OPC server, if you know how to use it.

    Thank you all.

NOTE: The client mutual FUND of Lookout is real, all there need is a GOOD OPC SERVER, that's all.

  • Mini Mac server - attachment of external hard drives file transfer speed

    Hi guys!

I wanted to increase the speed and storage capacity to transfer to my Mac mini file, so I bought a box of external hard drives. The one I bought is: http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=219

Built-in the Mac mini hard drives transfer the file to 60 MB/s (writing and reading) and I wanted to get better speed of file transfer, so I bought an SSD that is going to be inside with an another HARD drive of 3 TB for archiving my files. The housing is connected by USB3.0 (5 Gb/s) for the Mac mini.

    [SSD-> files I opened every day] - speed around 550 MB/s write and 500 MB/sec in reading

[HDD-> Archives, files that I have does not open very often] - speed around 150 MB/s write and 150 MB/sec in reading

So I did some benchmarks on my new Setup, and the speed is not really what I expected. Transfer of file max speed I have achieved is about 100 MB/sec in writing on the external SSD plugged into the mac mini. This transfer has been filed since an iMac 21 "2011 with an SSD (with almost the same speed read/write than the box) so it's quite disappointing.

It is possible that the Mac has a 'file transfer speed limit' is somewhere? Or whatever else that could affect that?

    More information on my setup:

    Mac Mini server 2012 - 2 TB RAID 1 - Mac OSX 10.9.5

    iMac 21 "2011 - Crucial SSD 275 Gb - Mac OSX 10.9.4

    IcyDock external enclosure - 4 bays, USB3 5 Gb/s

    -Red WD HDD 3To

    -Crucial SSD 1 TB

    Together internal Gigabit Ethernet network

    Thank you!

Was perhaps Spotlight indexing external at the same time, the test has been done?

  • File Transfer issue between 10.4.11 + 4.4 Android phone

    Hello.

I recently got a Polaroid link 6 "A6WH smartphone, Google Android KitKat 4.4 running, and despite being told of Polaroid that I should be able to transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between this phone and a G4 aluminum PowerBook running OS 10.4.11 (old, Yes, I know!), I can't. I was told that I have to download Android File Transfer, which I did, but it didn't work (it only works on OS 10.5). Android File Transfer is Version 1.0 - I don't think that there is no earlier version.

I tried to search on this forum and elsewhere online, some have suggested other programs, such as AirDroid, but when I tried to download them, they would not work with OS 10.4.11.

I was able to transfer files over a Bluetooth connection - and only from the computer (and not vice versa). The USB cable provided with the phone doesn't seem to work (anyway) without a program to make it easier.

Any suggestions for transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between these devices - via the USB port, or even simply through Bluetooth, back from the phone to the computer?

Also, are all the programs available to convert video to MP4 format files, as I can't get the phone to open any other format - BTW, free is better!)

Note: I would have gotten an iPhone, except for the fact that we tried to get rid of some AirMiles points that were about to expire, and they have not one!

    Thank you

I have (and have had) smartfones non-Apple for some time

To transfer ALL kinds of files, I just use an intermediary "cloud service".

Many here will advise you http://dropbox.com/ as a reliable and free service

    * NOTE: Dropbox is more supported by OS X Tiger with their desktop app - but access via the Web site is not affected (I use TenFourFox: a fork of Mozilla Firefox ESR 38 for Power Macintosh and Mac OS X Tiger PowerPC as a browser)

  • Some Excel files download but do not show associated with Excel or seem to have no file name extension.

Some Excel files download but do not show associated with Excel or seem to have no file name extension. If I download these files using Internet Explorer, they open properly. I can add xls or xlsx file and it will open properly with Excel. If I select the file open the 'Open with' dialog box and I If select Excel, the file does not open at all... nothing happens and Excel does not open. The excel in the picture as an attachment file are those where I added the excel file name extension.

Unfortunately, the way that Firefox gives the name of file is more literal and less improvisational than Internet Explorer, you may need to add this extension .xls or .xlsx yourself from time to time.

If you want to do it in the shortest time, you can change the immediate download to ask you where to save the file, which also foresees the possibility to change the file name. If you want to try it, the setting is described here: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

  • File transfer a BIG bug! Amazing transfer slow and full bandwidth used!

I read about this since 2014! How Skype does not solve this problem yet? Amazing!
I am transferring files between 2 PCs on Win7 64 bit and latest Skype (update), full bandwidth of 1.5 Mbps downloading (and I am sure is that Skype to use 100%!) and one day calculated for the transfer of 250 MB! It goes like a turtle! What the hell Skype is the download otherwise files?

    Horrible, please fix!

Transfer of cloud of image files is not yet implemented on Office of Skype for Windows. File transfer is always P2P.

  • Messages - file transfer fail to all types of files (pdf, pages, jpeg, png,...).

Since a few days now, I have been able to receive any type of files in Messages app. I tried a few things that I could find online (and in previous discussions of apple). Nothing has worked. The only time I am able to open a file is when I send it to someone else or that I send it to me.

I have tried disconnecting, signature by signing in with a different address and even someone else, have removed the thinking com.apple.ichat.jabber.plist that as is, jabber, etc.

In addition, I don't have an iPhone, so my phone is not connected to the Messages.

    Here's what happens:

I click on the file to download, but nothing happens.

If I go to the 'file transfer' and then click on the download arrow, it shows "preparing..." " for about two seconds and then stops without loading anything.

When I open "Console", I get this message after receiving a file:

Is there something I can do to solve this problem, or I can only hope the next Messages updated to fix it?

Thank you for your help (to come)!

Update: after further investigation, the problem is actually with the files containing the apostrophies. They are converted to xml literal "' and then probably the battery cannot download the file because it does not exist with this name.

Sorry for the mistake... someone can advice if this is a known issue, or should be set? :)

    See you soon,.

  • 2FIP % Ethernet NOR communication Allen Bradley

I want to communicate to the Allen Bradley plc cRIO (specifically ControlLogix L72, L73 or L725) via Ethernet/IP.

I am a beginner so I don't know exactly how to proceed. I downloaded the Ethernet/ip driver of OR.  I just want to talk to one of the controller at the same time. Can someone give me some advice on where to start? Or give the code example.

Also it would be possible to simulate the cRio communication Allen Bradley plc using computer and cRIO?

    Thank you

    Hello

The NOR-Industrial Communications for EtherNet/IP includes several examples started getting.  I suggest you take a look at EtherNetIP Adapter.lvproj in the finder of the example.  "In LabVIEW, go to Help" find examples and search for EtherNet/IP.  It should be the only option in there.  There are some examples on the introduction to the communication of these devices.  I suggest you take a look at the writing and reading Tag.vi for devices of Rockwell ControlLogix.

In addition, it is theoretically possible to simulate a PLC on the computer, but there is a bit of work to do.  You can see this discussion here to get an idea of what is involved in the start-up of this.

  • FTP file transfer

    Hi all

I'm trying to transfer a file from my RIO 9074 on my local machine. I have attached the vi that I use. The problem is that even though I can read all the files inside the RIO, the FTP GET multiple just Files.vi transfers the file to the top of the tree of directories of RIO and NOT on my local machine; It is independent of the "local path", I give...

Please note that I can manually transfer files from RIO on local machine via the Measurement & Automation Explorer / file transfer... So I guess it has nothing wrong with my accessibility of RIO.

All ideas, it has to do with how I give my constant "local path"?

    Kind regards

  • RT webservice on allen-bradley panelview HMI?

    Hello

anywhere I can find the requirement for the browser that will be used to display the a RT target wedsites?

I did a simple VI, just a few controls and indicators and I can easily see IE (even with silverlight disabled) - but the HMI shows only the title, then an empty picturebox where VI was supposed to be.

In fact just, I want to show an image on the Web page, nothing more - of ideas?

    Henrik

    Hi Henrik.

You must also install the enginer LabVIEW Run-Time in order to get the remote panel before working. After this installation, you should be able to use Internet Explorer. I also tried to use Firefox, and that seems to work perfectly.

How can I view a remote façade on my host computer?

I do not know the HMI that Allen-bradley is done, but according to this link

    http://www.AB.com/en/ePub/catalogs/12762/2181376/1239781/1670480/10791114/12293528/introduction.html

Seems like they are run on Windows CE 6.0 with limited functionality.

I would recommend a newer operating system, like WES7 which are supported by OR.

Another idea is to use the dashboard of data. With this, you can publish data on LAN and connect an iPad that they are able to display the data and even give new data in your LabVIEW application.

Start with the dashboard of data for LabVIEW
