• Replacement for trust Mac Pro early 2008

  Hello

  Looking for a replacement for my very reliable and expandable Mac Pro early 2008.  I got it in 2009 after the death of my PC and on the eve of Apple, highlighted the 2009 model.

  Looking for a replacement and do not know whether to go for high spec 27 "iMac or Mac Pro.  Welder instead of videographer professional seriousness.  All I get will be faster than the current Mac Pro despite many improvements over the years.

  As an amateur, I think you should seriously consider any movement until the 2009 model or later. Same factor form except the processor and RAM are on a shelf at the bottom of the Cabinet.

  They are faster because of some of the architecture changes, accept more RAM and still have the PCIe slots that allow you to add upgrades.

• When to use pools wwnn and wwpn

  I have deployed some UCS installed and used static wwpn and wwnn. The problem I see with the help of wwnn and wwpnn pools, it's that if you mask you LUN to a wwpn host and service profile are removed it is the potential of the host to get a new wwpn or another host, getting that wwpn from the pool. This would cause some real issues. Same goes with wwnn with zoning that could change the wwnn is a service profile is deleted and re associated or pulled oto another host.  Looking for a cause for the use of real world where a pool wwnn and wwpn is logical.

  You are quite correct.  Pools/UUID of MAC are also statically assigned to the life of a Service profile.  They only returned if/when the SP is removed.

  The best use case for the pools is the tag/allocate your identification of resources accordingly.  In my lab, I have a certain reserve of MAC for everyone in my team.
  The first 3 bytes of any MAC will always be Cisco Yes (Vendor ID) and the last three I use to distinguish the system UCS, each MAC address to which it belongs.

  I can't open the MacBinary (.bin) files that I downloaded from linksys, in order to update my firmware. I used my utility to archive, Stuffit Expander Mac and BetterZip, and so far none of them opens the file. Anyone have the firmware upgrade in a different format or advice on how to solve my problem.

  Do not touch the file you downloaded. The only software that uses it is your browser.

  You must open the web interface of the router at http://192.168.1.1/ and then use the upgrade of the firmware here.

  I don't know if the demo user interface is always up to date, but if it is as you should find it on the help page. See here. Click Update Firmware. Then, press the Browse button and select the .bin file that you downloaded. Then press upgrade and the browser will download the file on the router.

• How to add additional sas drive to an existing IBM midsize V3700 and do like being active in all hosts with vcenter server devices

  In our infra we have 8 node of the flex IBM x 240 and 1 IBM midsize V3700 host as storage device. In this 19 storage hard drives busy with 600 GB 10 k 6 GB SAS drive and 5 locations are still, that storage is divided into 2 for test and Production. Now we expect for resizing the activity so that we plan to add more 5 hdd storage, can someone guide me how do it properly without any problem.  If I add the HARD drive storage how to initialize and map to the existng storage. If someone has done this before please guide me to continue.

  What you have to do is create a new disk (mdisk) group and add to your existing (mdiskgrp), to make task record the following:

  1. click on internal disks and then bind o pools:

  

  2. click on configure storage:

  

  3. on the storage configuration wizard, you can select use recommended Configuration or select a Configuration different, but the most important is to select your existing disk group RAID level:

  

  4. then select the Expand existing Pool:

  

  Once the capacity of the new disk has been added to your existing pool, you can create new volumes to expand your existing volumes (LUNS UAT or logic of PRODUCTION unit number).

  The next command PowerCLI gives a list of names, addresses MAC and all the VM host names in a resourcepool called TestPool:

  Please see the steps below to disable 'launch at Login.

  1 - click on the settings button in the upper right corner.

  2 - Select 'Préférences' (preferences options does not appear until you log cloud creative)

  

  3 - uncheck "Start with the connection".

• What are good Options for installing Linux on a Mac?

  I have a Macbook Air in 2013 with a SSD 256 GB and 8 GB of memory. I have 80 GB free. I have Hyperacusis and had problems with a noisy computer a few years back, so wanted to avoid noisy readers.

  I need to be able to access my files from either OS X / Mac OS or Linux. This is the biggest problem. If I can't work on the same files in OS X / Mac OS and Linux, I can't really do much with Linux.

  I have trouble with some accessibility problems in OS x:

  1. I have sensory problems and need to disable more animation and more still of the blinking cursor. I used a hack to disable flashing cursors in some applications, but it does not work in LibreOffice, Pages, Mail, etc. It should work in Scrivener, and I plan to spend to Scrivener. He also works in bean and Textedit.

  2. I have problems of coordination/proprioception and could use the wider scroll bars. I currently use Scroll + scroll software, but it doesn't go anywhere. I could use a version of sticky keys, but the current version is not yet there. It shows the active keys on the screen, but I need to update t on the keyboard.

  I will need to avoid some problems of accessibility on Linux:

  Yes, I would say that all VMs are options to save money, I would try to go with oracle virtualbox, it is free I use osx to run a Windows 10 and machines virtual ubuntu it allows me to access the files across, although you mind a program under osx, maybe not 100% safe to use the same format as the same program under linux so that could cause a problem if this is the case.
