Experience of shift at games online with WRT310N

I recently setup my desktop with the WUSB600N adapter wireless computer and router WRT310N. My signal is great and I am connected to 270 Mbit/s, most of the time. I run Windows XP and the Windows Firewall is disabled. I tried to play last night online Guild Wars and ran into problems. Every 15-30 seconds, the game lag very badly for about 2-3 seconds. On two occasions, he disconnected from the game entirely. I'm hoping there's just a few settings that I can change to fix this problem. Any ideas?

Problem solved. Thought I'd post my solution in case anyone else runs into the same problem. After extensive research on this site and others, I have developed a list of things to try. The first one I tried was port forwarding, but that did not help. The second thing that I tried was to disable the controller Wireless Windows WCZ. I now use the Linksys software to connect and latency issues have been eliminated. You may wonder why I wasn't using their software first. I lost the wireless connection quite a few weeks ago and had to call support. They accompanied me changing some settings on my router and set up the WCZ to control my wireless to get me hung up. Apparently the fix has been achieved by changing only the router settings and had nothing to do with the transition to the WCZ. Hope this helps someone.

  • Cannot connect to all games online with router Linksys, (WTR54G)

I've tried everything, and this problem is fairly recent. I can run the internet just fine, but when it comes to connect with STEAM or any other multiplayer games, simply don't connect. I tried to take on the walls of fire and port forwarding. I also tried to use a static IP address, nothing. I have seen many others with this problem and they never have the problem sloved. Hope you can help me.

Called my brother and fix the problem, it is the COMODO. Even when you turn it off it always runs in the background and it does not leave out all connections. Linksys should have thought of that after that they told me 500 different things.

  • Why I have to restart my brand new monster Vista 64 machine whenever I want to play a game online?

I have a new brand, solid as a rock, high-end, cry of monster machine, fresh out of the box, fully updated with all updates from MS:
    Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
    12 GB DDR3 RAM
2 TB of hard drive space
64-bit Edition of Windows Vista Home premium.
    2 x Nvidia 295 in SLI

I can do pretty much everything on this subject with the results you expect.  I can surf the web at lightning speed (assuming I'm not using IE8, who remember using NETSCAPE ago 15 years on a 14.4 modem), I can play any game I want with amazing performance.

So why can't play ANY game online without first restarting my PC?
I say play... City of Heroes for 12 hours or 12 minutes.  Disconnect me, go to sleep and the next day... No.  It does not connect to the DBserver.  I load the battle field (ANY of the battlefield series) and cannot update the list of servers.  I have a strong connection to rock, I can connect to ANY game online with all 4 of my installations of XP without problem (Yes, I mean when the Vista machine does not work on one game from all others work with this game without problem) The ONLY fix I have found is to restart the Vista Machine... single... time... I want to play an online game.

I found the article on article on the post on the blog that talks about Vista incompatible nature with online games, including of Microsofts OWN games online.  The only answer I found Microsoft has been, and I am paraphrasing here "is not as bad as everyone say it's.

    Hello Wachinagi,

Thank you for posting.  The first thing is to check the power save options of your NIC (Ethernet card) in the Device Manager and make sure that it is configured to not allow.  I think that your NIC could go into powere saving mode.  I suggest you check the settings of your router and firewall.  Make sure that the appropriate ports are opened for the games.   Could also include the anti-anti-virus/firewall software you are using.

Please let me know if it helps. Zack

    4. What is the full error you receive with network diagnostics?

If you use Internet Explorer, then see method 1.

  • "Error on page" while he was playing msn games online

    OP:msnonlinefreegames, errorpn page
I recently bought a HP 64-bit with Windowsw 7 computer.  Whenever I try to sign up for Msn games online fre.  I can't BRING simply DOWNLOAD 'ERROR REF PAge'.  What's wrong

    Hi ggmawinton,
    1. don't you get the error only when you play msn games online or with other Web pages as well?
2 had to play msn games online before with no problems?
    3. what browser do you use?

The "error on page" or "Completed with error on page" message does not indicate a problem with a local computer. It occurs when an element on a Web page is not correctly built by the creator of the page.
However, there are many reasons why "Error on page" will occur. For example, you can experience the "Error on page" message when Internet Explorer is unable to read something that is on the web page you are trying to access. If the only sign of a problem is the error message, and Web sites are working, you can probably ignore the error

The navigation software loads the text, images, animations, and links in the memory (RAM) of your computer. When it encounters something that was not built properly, usually in the Java programming language, it generates the error message.

In addition, if the problem only occurs on one or two Web pages, it can be a problem with these pages. If you decide to ignore errors, you can disable script debugging.

Note If this problem occurs on more than one or two sites, do not disable script debugging. Instead, proceed to the next method.

    Method 1:
To disable notification of every script error in Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps:
    a. open Internet Explorer.
    b. click on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    c. on the Advanced tab, click to clear the display a notification of each error in script box and then click OK.
    Method 2:
Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not blocked by Internet Explorer. Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If they are blocked on your computer, it can disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to ensure that they are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. start Internet Explorer.
    b. on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    c. in the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
    d. click on default level.
    e. click OK.
Note: ActiveX controls and Java programs are disabled in the high security level in Internet Explorer.

  • Satellite M500 - Mouse pointer disappears when you play games online

I have a brand new, custom configured M500 form Toshiba. It has Windows 7 Professional Enterprise, 64-bit edition. Everything worked great until I spent a lot of money on the game Star Trek Online. When I go in the game, the mouse pointer disappears. I can see on the screen change action items when the mouse hover over them but no pointer. It makes the game difficult. Then I tried another game online, Free Realms, and I have the same problem.

I use a Logitech V220 Wireless mouse. I uninstalled the Logitech driver to see if that was the issue. I allowed Windows to use the default driver provided with the system. It does not work.

I called Toshiba and they had me remove the device and selected Windows generic driver for that. It works no more. The guy on the line said it would enter my service call and that she would go to a senior technician and they would call me within 24 hours. It has been two weeks and not a glance.

Anyone else has this problem or know of any other way I can try to solve it?

    Hello

To me that sounds like this, there is a problem (incompatibility) between this online game and your external mouse...
In your case I remove the mouse and uninstall the driver. Run CCleaner to clean the registry. Now try the touchpad online.

More update the display and DirectX as Al - eX driver already written.

  • Cannot play games online.

When I try to connect to any game online the connection just times out. I'm not having problems with my connection and I did everything that I can think of to fix this. No matter what type of game I try to play, I have this same problem.

    Noel2112,
Here are a few things I suggest that you try if you have not yet.  First turn off clean boot your system and then test and see if you are able to play one of your games.  Here are the instructions to perform a clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212/

If this does not help then I suggest the System File Checker to verify that it is not a possible problem with the operating system running.  Here is the information on CFS: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

You said it's the only PC having this problem.  Are others that you are using on the network?  If so the router settings are the same for this PC and others? Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
