Explorer Windows has stopped working and then.

Hi, I am new to PC so I don't know what the problem with my thing.

There are 2 days I was closing my PC but the PC would shut down for 5 minutes and stay in office, after I received a message "Windows Explorer has stopped working" (while the message is pop up, my PC is slow and laggy as hell, it took me 2 minutes to close the message because the mouse was no lag and difficult to control) and then I closed the message Shut down PC normally. And the next day, my PC has become very lag (if I open 2 tabs on Firefox, the PC will freeze) even with the right button on a game on desktop icon, it takes 20 seconds to show me the option to copy or cut or ect... I tried to delete everything (games, yahoo, ect..) but the problem still there. I use Dell inspiron 14R with little window 7 x 32.

If some1 has the same problem and fixed it please help me :(

And sorry for my bad English

Given that you had cracks and uTorrent there, it is very likely that the system needs a thorough cleaning. This forum is not implemented for this because newspapers can be quite long, and unfortunately, the Dell malware removal forum is closed.

We can still help.

  • Installer of Modules of Windows has stopped working and was closed

    Hello
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite (running Vista Home Premium) that I bought about two months ago.  When he tries to run updates, he routinely gets through a few and then up pops the message "Windows Modules Installer has stopped working and was closed."  I have already reinstalled Windows Updates and Microsoft Updates, nothing helps.  Recently, she was immobilized on the KB958623 update, so I tried to install that separately, but the same message popped up and it did not work.
    Help?
    Thank you!

    Greetings mollypopsicle,

I see that we have always had problems with this update.  This leaves me with the question about the possibility of fi computer update auto is damaged during download.

I would like to have you create a folder on your desktop.  Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop / new / file - name of the folder KB958623.

If you have a download manager, please use it to download the KB958623 update from this Web site

    http://catalog.update.Microsoft.com/v7/site/search.aspx?q=958623%20

Make sure you use the version of Windows Vista that applies to your system.

Once the download is complete and before running the update

    1. Restart your system in safe mode with networking, as described in the above post from Brian.
    2. Once the system is booted in safe mode with network, run the update from the file that is downloaded on.
    3. If this does not properly complete, were there a pop-up Windows indicating that an error?  If so, what were these errors?
    4. Maybe it's that the error you receive is that this update does not apply to your system.  If so, this update can be hidden in your list of updates.

Here is a link on how to hide the update

    Hey Kevin,

You will need to run the command above in the elevated command prompt.

Refer to this step help: How to run a command with elevated privileges?

After you run the command of high fashion, you should get the message, "" DLLRegisterServer in wmp.dll managed."

Also, you can run the method 2 regardless of the success or failure of the method 1. Please try these methods first and see how it goes.

Normally, it is appropriate to fix this problem by running SFC scan and you would not need to copy the file.

    Kind regards

  • Explorer Windows has stopped working when I right click on the files

When I need to click with the right button on folders, windows Explorer has stopped working.

up to now, still can't use the right click menu ~.

Yes, it's the details of the problem.

Unfortunately, it does not identify the failing module.

At this point, it may be useful to try to capture a dump of user of the explorer.exe crash mode.

You can configure Windows to create dumps of user mode. First, create a System Restore Point.

If you copy and paste the following text in Notepad and save it as a .reg file, then right click on the .reg file and select "Merge" to add to the registry, when the .dmp file explorer.exe plant should be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe]
    "DumpFolder" = hex (2): 43, 00, 3A, 00, 5 c 00, 43, 00, 72, 00, 61, 00, 73, 00, 68, 00, 44, 00, 75,.
    00, 6 D, 00, 70, 00, 73, 00, 00, 00

After Explorer (explorer.exe) crashes, you can, and then make the .dmp file available (provide the link) via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

The following link has information about the use of Windows Live SkyDrive:

  • Explorer Windows has stopped working. Same for the Task Manager.

I have Windows Vista and have had this computer for several years.

I tried to work on something yesterday and I found that all my Office 2007 programs would be would break immediately at the opening, while they were working fine a week ago (the last time we used them).  I ran the diagnostic program came not upward with anything and then installed a bunch of windows updates I received automatically.  When the computer restarts now, I get a window in the corner that says 'Custom settings', then a window appears and says that Windows Explorer has stopped working.  I can ctrl/alt/del and open Manager tasks, but when I try to do no matter what to whom, it also stops working.  I not to download anything so I really don't think it is a virus.

I can't open programs or menus, even if I think I can get a screen of command.  I ran all the tests in the installation disc and did not get any where or the other.

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Mike

I can show you a workaround until Microsoft fixes their problem.

As soon as you enter the office hit

1-CTRL/ALT/DEL to get into the Task Manager
    2. click on the tab Applications (top left corner)
    3. click the new button on the task (lower right corner)
    4. in the Open box, type explore and click the Enter key
5 do step 3 and 4 once more as quickly as possible

This should stop the process of recycling the error message

After stops in the process recycling, you can leave the Task Manager and minimize the Explorer window.  Also, you should be able to leave the Task Manager and windows Explorer now.  If this is not the case, just keep the Explorer minimized window.

You should now be able to use your computer as usual.

Let me know how it works for you.  If it works well, spread the word.

I am running Vista Home Premium.  I tried a system restore, restore the config, I tried chkdsk/f.  I tried almost everything in the knowledge base, with the exception of the running recovery discs - because I don't have a copy and repair start because there is no part of my system.  This error occurred after I installed updates windows on September 16 and then I installed Office 2007.  This worked for about 12 hours and then I kept, the message that Windows Explorer has ceased to operate either restart or find a solution online and restart.  None of these options worked.  Whenever I start my computer normally what happens and when I boot in the options of safe mode what happens.  I tried to create a recovery disc neosmart on another computer Vista, but when I put it in my laptop to boot from, the system does not recognize there of nothing on the disc but if I open a task manager and create a new task - browse - discovery of the cd player - click on all programs - it shows that the program of 120 MB is on it.  I have a Sony Vaio laptop.  I'm a student and can't afford it by another computer.  This one is about 3 or 4 years.  Help, please!  I tried to call tech support at Microsoft and Sony and they want to charge me I have no money.  Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.  Ah yes I also deleted the 2007 Office program and I downloaded all the updates too.  Does not solve the problem.  I also did a thorough through Norton Security Suite virus scan.  Nothing has been found.  Also tried the clean boot and that did not help either.  Okay, I think that all covers.  Thank you in advance.
