I use a portable MacPro OS X 10.9.5 with Pages 5.2.2. When I convert to Word doc or docx, the copy becomes a hyphen, although he was not in the Pages. When I try to remove the hyphens, the document converted Pages. How can I avoid this?  I don't want to update my software because I have my previous files become inaccessible.

When you export to Word.doc/.docx leave v5.2.2 Pages, what exactly Gets a hyphen? Pages is not a clone of Word, and export to Word is a translation process for which Apple offers absolutely no guarantee of accuracy.

Pages v5.2.2 is the last version compatible with the Mavericks. Pages ' 09 v4.3 still work on El Capitan. What are the previous files?

    Hi olivias,.

Looks like there may be some confusion on your system which application should be associated with PDF files. You can reset the file name associations by following the steps described in these articles (depending on your operating system):

  • PDF to WORD (doc or docx) export

I am a graphic designer, and I'm doing corporate letters. When I finished the work in a pdf file, I need to export the doc or docx file so that my client can modify it. If I buy the subscription called 'export the pdf file' with a value of €2.05 / month, you make sure that PDF (watermarks, images and text) items are not changed in doc or docx?

No, I don't think anyone can make such a promise. Export to Word sometimes works fine, sometimes not at all. It depends on the complexity of the design and other factors.

For example, sometimes we hear people who use design tools that make smart drawings that he could not do in Word. Then they make a PDF and export to Word and are disappointed that this export is unable to do what they couldn't do.

20 years people say ' I want to go from X to Y.. "I can go from X to PDF and PDF to go, so my problem is solved. If only it were so simple.

    Just use Word!

  • Scan convert ms word (.doc) file.

Is there any software by which I can convert my scanned images (text) to the ms word doc (.doc) file?

    Hello

Some scanners have the ability to convert the image to text, check your scanner manual for the exact procedure. You can also use your search engine preferred for a tool to convert.

  • MS word .doc or .docx attachments will not send or receive in Thunderbird

I'm on Mac OS X 10.9.5 and Thunderbird 31.5.0. When I enclose a .doc or .docx file in Thunderbird to an outgoing message, the attachment disappears. The welcome message send as usual, but when I go in my sent folder, there is no attachment, and when the recipient receives the message, there is no attachment. I've tried this multiple accounts, both IMAP and POP, and I tried with many different .doc or .docx files, sending them to myself as tests. Whenever they disappear. Other attachments: .pdf, .zip, etc work fine.

I found a solution to this problem:

    http://www.GEOS.ed.AC.UK/it/FAQ/Thunderbird/

In some cases, the Thunderbird e-mail client may send a file .doc (Word attachment) with the coding of incorrect mime "application/applefile. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    (1) close Thunderbird.
    2) go to the following directory: \Library\Thunderbird\Profiles \Users\ < your user name >
    (3) open the directory named with a random set of characters, for example "yo6luyl8.default". There may be several directories if you have several profiles of Thunderbird.
    (4) delete the file named "mimeTypes.rdf".
    (5) restart Thunderbird that will recreate a correct mimeTypes.rdf

Thunderbird seems to acquire this behavior when it receives incorrect attachments sent by an e-mail on a Mac client. swalvarez said

  • After you convert a Word DOC to PDF units on rule change to points

Whenever I have turn a Word document (Office 2003) PDF using Adobe Acrobat 7.1.0 units on the rule under the toolbars to convert centimeters to points. So I have to change tools. It's no big deal, but I would be very grateful to anyone who has any idea how this can be avoided.

    ktomica,
The link provided by Mike is 'Official' Adobe that acrobat updates the location.

Because you're in 7.1.0 you need treat each version update 7 past 7.1.0 in sequence.

Do this sequence: 7.1.1 update the 7.1.2 and 7.1.3 7.1.4.

  • Cannot save as PDF keeps wanting to print word doc

I try to save a doc word (about 60 pages) in PDF format, but I get the appearance fast printing. Confused.

It depends what measures you use, but printing to a virtual printer that generates a PDF file is a common way to create PDF files. It also seems to be built into OS X, so it should work for any application.

  • Why my pdf won't convert to word?

It loads the document but noting happens then when I hit the button convert

    Hi Andrew8888,

You convert to in Adobe Reader, or directly via the site of ExportPDF? In both cases, make sure that you are connected to the service.

If you have access to the service directly through the site, try to clear the browser cache and try again. You can also try using a different web browser.

Please let us know how it goes.

  • small images to link the Word doc not no projection in RH8 Webhelp

I use RH8 and linking Word Documents.  Will generate as WebHelp.  All the images are pasted into word using Snagit documents.  The images are variable in size and must be in this way.  It seems that RH8 any larger images such as display and .jpg files fine but converts the smaller .png files and they are not displayed.  Only a box appears saying that the image file is missing for the smaller .png files. The biggest .jpg files display fine.  Why they come as different types?    Does anyone know of a work around to fix this?  Looking for the forum for an answer I found a script that will make images of unique size.  Is there a setting in Word or RH8 that should be adjusted?  Thank you for your help.

See extract of 125 on my site.

If Word is processing the images differently when you paste, which seems strange, try to insert via the Word menus.
