• RH7: PDF Generation of the project without going through Word

  All,
  I have a user who is try the trial of RoboHelp 7 and wants to know when to generate PDF output, is there a way to bypass the creation of a Word document and go straight to the PDF document. Word is still used this way to get a printed Documentation doesn't matter if a PDF file is made or not?

  Thanks for all your suggestions and comments. The HR user is dead set against using Word to generate the PDF file. In other research, we found RH7 and Flare to use Word as an intermediary in the generation of the PDF file. However, importing files FrameMaker in RH7 briefly gave us hope that the problem has been resolved by issuing to FrameMaker and PDF format. Much to our surprise, we found the RH7 can import FrameMaker files but cannot export to FrameMaker files.

  The user is in a different business unit and does not use HR. Since the release of FrameMaker is important to them, RH7, don't meet their needs.

• Truncation of PDF generation

  Generation of PDF via iBots produced only the first 8 pages. Last 4 pages are missing. In the end, it says 'sheets 1-250'. This problem is not there when I generate pdf responses directly. Clues as to where I should be looking?

  I suspect that the tag in the instanceconfig.xml came back, or has the value 250. Please see the MOS 530222.1 Note for more information on how to change the value.

• Program PDF generation

  I need to generate a PDF file as output report and would prefer to print a front vi directly in PDF format instead of using a template (office, etc.).  I need to control the costs of deployment and prefer to avoid Add-ons.   Does anyone have experience with this?

• PDF generation problem

  I installed Acrobat 9 Standard through 5 PCs. On 4 of them, everything works fine in Word, Excel etc. 1 of the refuse units to generate a PDF file - I tried the toolbar option in Word, Excel, Access, but it's always the same. the trial starts, the print window shows, the creator of Acrobat PDF window comes up, it allows you to "convert to Adobe PDF...". "and then stops at 20%. When I cancel the manifest error "PDF printer cannot create the PDF file.

  This PC can generate PDF files using the option "Merge files into a single PDF" in Acrobat itself.

  I know that the system works as other users do not have this problem but I have not been able to establish what setting is different on this PC. Any help appreciated.

• Issue of PDF generation

  Hi, I have Acrobat 8 profressionelle. I currently have a PDF (landscape) being filled with data. It is a form of Government, so we started with the form effective and added the formfields and fill them with cfpdf... but now I need to make a printable for users want print on the actual forms. So, I just want to copy all formfields and paste them into a blank form. But I can't understand how to create a landscape pdf document! I read that there is a "Rotate" button, but I can't. I also tried to remove the background of our existing pdf. I went under the > background > remove and removed the background, but nothing happens. I see again all fields of government forms and text.

  What is the best course of action for the situation? I can't believe that I can't understand it. Acrobat seems not as intuitive as many technologies. As I created a blank image and converted to a pdf file, but I couldn't go into "Edit" mode (forms > edit form in Acrobat).

  You will find may be easier to just open the Panel content in Acrobat Pro. Select object xObject: Image: w1232:h1616 and then right click and delete the background image. Then you can do a save under a new name of file as I did in the joint.

• Exaprom PDF: how cells that can cover several lines in the body of the table?

  I use Exaprom PDF but I have a case that I can't work.

  I would like to generate a table where a cell spans an entire line in the body of the table, the table should be translated as:

• PDF Axial shading Pattern ranging from opacity

  Hello

  I am trying to find a way to have as PDF (say 1.4) an axial model shading but such that the opacity of the color extends along shading, not just the colors themselves.

  Of course, this is supported in rendering systems, such as GDI +, where the alpha channel is in color. But in PDF format, the opacity is controlled separatedly, so in the case of a backstory, I have no idea where to specify that.

  Please note that my question is about PDF itself (as in the spec), regardless of any library/PDF generation software.

• PDF with BI Publisher configuration

  I had a question about the configuration of the print server to 4.1 APEX or say that any version...
  As said, to activate PDF generation one must configure the print server. It can be done using BI using URL link/xmlpserver/convert xmlpserver and providing other details like address, hostname and port.
  
  So I was wondering how authentication takes place on the side BI xmlpserver? Or is it as a treatment for any request that is received on the/xmlpserver/convert?
  
  Note that I have different database for APEX and BI.

  There are three different ways by their SUMMIT to generate PDF documents, you can use the print option of conventional reports, interactive reports printing option, and you can use report queries (which can be found in the shared components). You condition is better filled by using queries to report, because the report queries allow you to include multiple SQL statements, i.e. multiple result sets in a single PDF document. So what you would do is create your page with several traditional or interactive reports, then do NOT print on these reports individually, but rather obtained for components that are shared-> report queries and define your query to report it (with several SQL statements). While you use the plugin word of BI Publisher to create your presentation / model, download the RTF and associate with the query for your report. And then, as a stage final, you create a "print" button on your report page and select your query report as the target for this button. If you use filters, - where clauses, etc. in the parts of your report, you can use the same clauses - where in your report query, and your reference variable to filter via the bind syntax elements. And of course this would require you bind a report defined in BI Publisher, you can continue to set everything inside the APEX.

• Word to PDF - Performance

  We have written a custom in .NET application that allows to convert a set of word document in pdf format. The piece of PDF generation takes about 10 to 15 seconds per document and also causing some performance issue in terms of CPU usage and not being able to open WORD or PDF in the desktop pc, when the application runs.

  Here is the piece of code for WORD to PDF generation logic. Please indicate if there are problems in how the API is used and also recommend if there is any other way that would have generated a PDF file with a minimum of time.

  A customer has invested time in creating a good CSS stylesheet and the model of RoboHelp to create a nice looking CHM HTML Help. My client wants to find a way of creating a document PDF looking nice without having to invest more time in the development of a model of good word for export to PDF.

  The client asked me what seems to be a stupid question on PDF generation. Is there such a thing as the generation of a PDF file without using Word? -(Whatever that means). My client seems to think that there is a way. But as my client has requested, I invite you all...

  I tried the fast way of simply by clicking on the PDF icon and see what happens. So HR generated a PDF, for me without asking me for more info. The recorder output clearly showed that HR was first to create a * Word file *. And of course when I looked into its target folder, I saw there was also a * Word doc *, finished one minute earlier. A sure sign, I think, that first created the Word doc and then to HR created the PDF file. (Btw, I don't know where HR got the table of contents of this generation of PDF - looks like a ghost of OCD I used months ago.)

  Then I tried using the wizard to generate the carrycot single Source Layouts. One of the steps in this wizard invites you to select a template, including any * model Word * you fed HR in the past. Once again a good sign, IMO, than the initial process to make a PDF file is the same as for make a Word doc.

  HR is creating a Word document, but if you turn off the word box, it is not saved. What you saw, it was probably an old document. Delete it and publish just a PDF file and you shouldn't be able to see the Word temporary document that is created.

  In the wizard, you don't have to select a Word template, it's just one of the options.

  The content of the page is not related to your table of contents. It takes the contents of a table of contents when you first create the print layout, but then the two are autonomous. You can't layout seems to be identical to the table of contents. If you do, use arrows to erase, and then replace it with the current TOC.

• Invoking PDF on WSDL conversion

  Hello

  for some reason, I need to use an invocation of webservice PDF generation process (as the PDF generation service is on a different server)

  And my knowledge of the SOAP envelopes is minimal. I can't understand how to pass the variable of type of document to the Web service and get the document converted to format PDF as a type of document variable again.

  Advice would be much appreciated and if you manage to post the SOAP request with the variable that refers to the input document, which would be awsome.

• Manipulation of PDF in Flex

  Hello

  is it possible to manipulate PDFs in Flex 3?

  What I want to do is

  • load (not necessarily view) a PDF file existing in a Flex, AIR, AS3 environment
  • read its properties, such as the PDF version and finally
    
  • make changes to the PDF file, for example to convert the PDF/A for archiving, i.e. Acrobat Standard or professional capabilities.
    

  I know that AlivePDF is THE library when it comes to PDF generation, but is there something similar for PDF manipulation? Or kit Acrobat SDK will be available for Flex programmers to AIR, as in the near future?

  If I'm not wrong that acrobat has a javascript API that you can use, but it will require that the user have the pro version to do this, I don't think that Adobe will make this a free utility because it is a software that generates a good income for Adobe.

  I try to get < cfthmltopdf > work and experiencing problems.  We are running Coldfusion 11, on Red Hat 7.2.  We did a new install of CF and believe that PDFG is installed.

  Following these steps ColdFusion help | PDF generation in ColdFusion , all additional packages are installed on the server except ias32-libs, which tells me that there is no such thing as my sysadmin.  Fonts were extracted in the directory/usr/share/fonts.  I am able to select the "Check all managers in the service" button in the CF administrator on the Service of PDF page.  The State of the connection returns as OK.

  Have you thought to generate a PDF file using a non Adobe product?  I have had great success using WKHTMLTOPDF (free) with ColdFusion 8, 9, 10, 11 & 2016. (I found it to be faster and generate smaller PDF files.)   According to the website of WKHTMLTOPDF, it works with Windows XP/2003/Vista/Server, Linux (Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS) and OS X.

  We have an implementation in current of Documaker for an Oracle product. How trigger us it is via a file called BEATS, gentnw32, gendaw32 and genptw32.

  When gendaw32 or gendata is executed, it triggers a DAL script that retrieves the file name of the PDF file to print and return. We know the Script being called to be named PDF_NAME, because we put a Print_it in all DAL scripts in the file SETRCPTB. The question is: How does the GenData know what this script that he must call, how do we set and where it passes the name of the document in question.

  The debug output will be written to a trace file normally called 'trace.' in the current directory unless you specify your own trace file name using the trace file in the INI control group.

  If you use the MultiFilePrint callback function to produce PDFs (a normal scenario for PDF generation), then at the end of each transaction, a new name of output file using a meter of working capital at the end of the file name.
  MultiFilePrint makes the following assumption on the output file name:
  XXXX #.
  XXXX is four characters who are preserved.
  # = four characters set on a sequence number of zeros.
  MultiFilePrint assumes that the original name of batch printing ends with 0001. The second opened file will be 0002 and so on, until 9999.
