    Hi all

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch early 2011 with OSX El Capitan 10.11.4.

Just before I upgraded to 10.11.4, I use to work with "extended desktop" using the built-in screen and the external monitor. Since the update, whenever I connect the external display it goes automatically to the external screen and completely disables the built-in screen. Sometimes removing the HDMI cable (with mini port adapter), putting the MacBook to sleep, log in again and the Mac, the awakening back on two screens, but most of the time he spends just go back to the external display only. This gets really annoying.

When you use the external monitor display poster preferences only options of this monitor and my arrangement tab is missing (like the built-in display is temporarily disabled). Hi there Ajgalvezm,

It seems that your computer does not work with your monitor external because you upgrade 10.11.4. I would use these steps in the following article to help you solve problems that:

Get help with graphical problems on external displays connected to your Mac.

Restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

The same situation here. I have Tecra M1 and I turn it on manually every time because the portable store the last known configuration. • Qosmio G30: How to turn on the extended desktop?

It is possible to extend the desktop on the screen of the laptop and and external monitor when connected to an external monitor? I see in the manual that he talks with the "simultaneous" external display and the monitor to the laptop, but I need her to be not only "reproduced" and "extended" on both monitors for both monitors.

In addition, these two monitors can operate with different resolutions (for example, 1280 x 1024 on the resolution of the laptop standard and external)?

It is also possible to drive two external monitors of the single monitor out (I do not, but thought I would ask)?

    Thank you

    Hello

Of course, it should be possible to activate the extended desktop.
Go to the display properties. Then, choose the number of Monitor 2 and choose the option to extend my desktop on this monitor
It is also possible to use different resolutions.

  • NB305-106 - display driver for extended desktop

I would like to know if it is a driver display or in any way possible to have "Extended desktop" with my NB305 not cloned dual display?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

Normally, you can only choose options for external monitor in display driver options. There, you can choose between the clone mode or extended desktop.
    Did you check that?

Otherwise, you must install the last display of the official website of Toshiba driver. Maybe there is a new display driver.

I spend every time as you and it takes just 30 seconds and I can live with it. Just a question: how to connect external monitors (directly to the laptop or docking station)?

    Hello

I think it s a display driver problem.
Try to update the graphics driver to the latest version.
If you will be late nothing on the European driver Toshiba page try to search on the site of Toshiba Canada and 3 websites of third parties such as www.omegadrivers.net or www.laptopvideo2go.com

If you will not find the latest drivers try this temporary fix.
Don t let the Windows Vista TMM to manage your multiple monitors.
Go to Task Scheduler, in the list of active tasks, find the line task TMM, turn it off - off on logon trigger (or delete - save/export task before you do), and then restart your windows. I hope it will work ;)

NOTE: If you are unsure which monitor who is, then click on the button to display the number on the screen to match with identity.
    c. at the top, click on the numbered display device (ex: monitor, projector or TV HDMI) you want to make your primary display to have its established border highlight.
    d. check the brand that my hand display and click OK to apply.
NOTE: You will notice that when you check this box, the Menu start now we in this numbered display.

  • Extended desktop preferences reset on logout, restart or sleep.

I have my laptop is docked to a ViewSonic monitor to the right of the laptop. I prefer to use the Extended Desktop setting. The laptop screen is my main screen and the ViewSonic monitor is my secondary display.

I've had this laptop for only a few weeks. Whenever he goes to sleep, undocked, or restarted, it 'forgets' the display settings and returns to a default setting of cloned with the monitor (not portable) desktop computers set as primary. Curiously, before it reverts to the default settings, it briefly displays the Office extended with my favorite settings. So, I have to manually reconfigure the display properties. A real pain to do several times a day.

I don't have this problem with this monitor with my previous laptop (running XP Pro). Is it a Windows 7 problem? It seems that Vista had a problem like this, my review of the other forums.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

  • Posting videos on the extended desktop.

I use a projector with my laptop with the projector set up under the extended desktop. This works with PowerPoint and other projection software that I use. However, when I try to show a video using Windows Media Player, it displays full-screen on the laptop. I know that I could use the display settings to change to extend to two copies, but I don't want to keep doing this, as much as most other operators is not as competent as users.

In Windows XP. I could set the options so vidoes would display on both; in a small window (with controls) on the laptop and the mode full screen on the projector. How can I do this in Windows 7?

Hello, I have just submitted the feedback as suggested. I referred to the Powerpoint option to select which monitor you want to run the slide show, which is what I'm after in Windows Media Player.

    Laptop: Sony VGN-AR38G;

    Video card: Nvidia GeForece Go 7600 GT;

2nd monitor: LCD TV (plug-and-play, connected to the laptop via a VGA cable).

Problem: Extended desktop shows no picture only black.

    Auto diagnose:

TV and VGA cable both work very well , because I unplugged the AR38G VGA and placed it on another laptop and the TV displays perfectly extended desktop.

The problem must therefore be within the AR38G, right?

All the drivers are up to date, and there is no new facilities.

Could this be caused by problems in input/output power? The VGA uses all power?

My phone was acting strange lately, saying that I turned off the lamp and the speaker will go dead, so I have to unplug and reconnect the audio cable between the speaker and the laptop to solve. Since the lamp and the share of the laptop the same expansion card, would that be a problem to be able to disturb the internal domain of the laptop controller?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Pen poor Performance in extended desktop Mode

    Hello

Pen Ink becomes pixelated and imprecise in Microsoft Onenote display integrated when an external monitor is connected and running in extended desktop mode. Recalibrate the screen makes no difference. Anyone know why and have a solution?

    William

I also have this problem and it is very frustrating. I have some information so. It is a driver problem. Not a hardware problem. I have a partition of Windows 8 CP and using two monitors there is absolutely no question, however, lenovo drivers will not install which might indicate the problem. I think that ptsven may be ahead of the driver that is causing the problem. Have not had time to mess with it more but if someone finds what happens, thanks for posting. Thank you.

Edit: Yes, the Wacom driver "DSI tablet" is responsible for the quality of bad line with a second monitor.  If you go to programs and uninstall "DSI Tablet' poor quality will disappear completely, however, you will lose the adaptation of feather program in the screen of the settings for the pen.  If this isn't a problem for you, simply uninstall it and you'll be fine.

I tried to install an earlier version of the driver that is in the drivers section and it also had the same problem with the quality of the screen and was actually a little worse the new driver.  In my view, that there is incompatibility with the graphics engine of the system.  If you crank the graphics up to max and crank the CPU up to turbo max, for a short in a few lines, you will see the best screen quality and then something adjusts and it goes back to the shit even once.  If anyone can replicate it?  It will take a strong sense of noticing the change.  I have almost no.

    I hope this helps.

Lenovo engineers, please see that it is no longer a problem when Windows 8 came out this fall.  Thank you!

  • Properties dialog boxes appear in extended desktop monitor after turning off

I used the Office expanded shortly to develop a data model. However, when returning on the single screen of laptop, maker of data continues to display dialog boxes in extended desktop monitor and therefore invisible.

If anyone has experienced this problem and is it possible to disable this option.

    Thank you
    Etienne Piron

    Hi Eric,.

For some of the dialog boxes, he remembers where the dialog box is displayed, and next time the dialog box is used, it tries to display the dialog box at the same place.
This can result in the dialog box being invisible if it was previously displayed on a subsidiary monitor that is no longer connected.

In this case, you can move the new dialogue box on the main screen as follows:

1 attempt to open the dialog box.

    2. tap Alt space (this opens the dropdown of the invisible dialog box).

3 M type (this selects the Move option in the drop-down below).

4 use the left or right arrow key to move the dialog box. (Once you've started it, you will find that you can use the mouse to position the dialog on the screen.)

You need only this time for the dialog box. Next time it is used, it must appear in the new location.

  • Satellite Pro C50 - How to extend desktop to 3 monitors?

Hello; I am trying to extend the desktop to three screens with Satellite Pro C50.
    Please, what can I do?

As far as I know something like this, you need additional equipment. I assume that you need USB display adapter.
Solution could be multi-monitor adapter Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital SE or similar device.

Google around a bit and I hope that you find a device that you can use with your laptop.
