  1. are you able to view the Flash DRIVE in disk management?

  2. What is the operating system installed on your computer?

  I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

  Method 1: If you are able to see the Pen Drive under disk management, check the format of the USB and after return,

  Change, add, or remove a drive letter

  Method 2: Check the status of the device your pen drive and after return to the status updated.

• Eject USB HDD, will not stop turning.

  When my XP external HARD disc is ejected, he would stop turning after the message "remove" and woud dim light.   Thank you for your message.  To elaborate on the post of bika, this feature has been by design, it allows people to continue to load specific devices (phones, mp3 players, etc.) once they were ejected from the aircraft.  Once you have removed your device safely, you will incur no damage even if the light is still on.  Are you sure that the grinding you hear isn't a fan in the system so that there are still cold?

  You will need to format it and assign a drive letter before that Windows can 'see' in Ecplorer.  Right-click on desktop and select manage, then click Disk Management.  It should appear on the right side where you can make thia.

• Configuration of USB 2 external 500 GB USB hard drive problems

  Hello gentlemen.

  I recently acquired a disk hard external 500 GB USB part number PX1269E - 1 50.
  I have some problems with the configuration of USB 2.0 in windows XP. When I connect it to a usb 2.0 port, I get the message "USB HDD high speed plugged into a hub non-hi-speed usb", and the unit remains low-speed (12 Mbps) USB. (I checked the port with an another usb 2.0 device and the port works correctly in usb 2.0 mode).
  I checked the PXI1269E - 1 50 in other PCs and I have same results. I can't make it work in USB 2.0 mode. I also have some problems with the virtual CD that is always present when you insert and mount partition. There is a way to remove it?

  I only use the hard drive for data backup every day, and I don't want to use any other drive letters in my system.

  The main PC is an ASUS P4P800-E deluxe with windows XP SP2 fully implemented to update and build in the USB 2.0 controller intel.

  I have connected the 500 GB HDD (PX1269E - 1 50) to my Satellite M40 and it works fine. It works with USB 2.0.
  Guys, I think there is something wrong with the controller software or the registry is damaged. Maybe an update is necessary.

  PS: I have not installed the additional software on the supplied CD. The operating system automatically acknowledged.

  @parabolix: using SP1. Try to install whole MS and SP2 updates.

  I got a L10 for 18 months. Under the guarantee, I got a replacement motherboard mounted. Everything has been ok so far. A USB port will not recognize devices, a port is ok, but randomly turns off a device attached to it and comes up with the message "USB device not recognized". The third port is ok all the time.

  I guess there is not enough power on the USB ports and external devices may not work correctly. It is not easy to say why this happens, but there may be a problem of welding.

  I recommend you contact the service again as soon as possible.

  Check your drive in computer management. Click Start-> run, type &-> compmgmt.msc-> navigate to storage-> disk management.
  On the right side, make sure your external drive-> Rightclick and assign a drive letter.

  This problem may occur if the Universal Serial Bus controllers has been corrupted.

  To help you better, please provide a few details:

  (1) what happens when you tried to browse the files of device UBS? He gets an error message?

  What do you say "he's not leaving"? He kept playing with his only non-stop?
  If it is 'yes' or 'no', you can always he kill 'soft' media player.

  Take a look at your video accessory. What are the last 3 numbers, such as avi, mpeg, mov etc. ?
  It is possible that your video accessory is in a format unsupported by Windows Media Player.
  Save it in a folder of your choice.
  Googe for a FREE video converter (if you do not have one) and convert the video file toWMV.
  Now you should be able to read in the drive media with images and sounds.
