To help you better, please provide a few details:

I suggest you try the methods and check them off below if it helps.

Method 1: check the status of the USB in Device Manager:

  • USB stick not recognized by the computer. Have tried all the options I can think about.

Very well.  I have a S-Mini Patriot 32 GB flash drive that does not recognize my HP Slimline 400-434 Windows 8.1. In my view, he acknowledged once and has refused to do since. My laptop (Windows 7 Toshiba) recognizes very well.

All other devices USB function perfectly on this computer. USB hub mouse, keyboard, USB, cable Apple iPhone.

    1. I tried to unplug all other USB devices before trying this one. IN CASE OF FAILURE

    2. I went to device management and the USB does not appear in the list. IN CASE OF FAILURE

    3. I uninstalled the USB root hubs and restarted the computer. IN CASE OF FAILURE

    4. I tried to plug in the USB ports on the back that plug directly into the motherboard. IN CASE OF FAILURE

    5. I have updated the drivers, and have been unable to find a update of the BIOS as the link on the HP download site and told that it is incompatible to my computer. IN CASE OF FAILURE

.. then what the hell gorram bloody I do now?

Good and the most ridiculous way, I never solved a technical problem...

Failed to insert the USB flash in the port. She has to insert slowly, so that the contacts are aligned.

I found it trying to connect to it in my USB hub and noting that the witness red light was going on and outside that I inserted the USB key, flicker on as I inserted it there and then off once it is all the way in.

Weird. But good. It works now.

  • External 500 GB USB HDD will not show in my computer

I recently bought the above named product, which worked great until the other day when for some unknown reason, the drive was more on the function of my computer.

I followed the troubleshooting tips/FAQ and this has not solved the problem. The computer recognizes that the hard drive is there, as it appears on the list of devices USB/material and under removable storage in the computer Mgt (when you right-click on my computer and select Manage), but I couldn't go in the Councils of troubleshooting/FAQ that the drive is not accessible.

I fear that all my music (recently transferred to it) is lost forever.

Please, someone tell me I'm wrong. Any ideas people?

    Thank you

If all goes well it of not a hardware problem.
Well. Have you tried to connect this drive external DRIVE on another computer?
If this is not the case, check this box!

In a little more, I recommend to unplug the laptop HARD drive and remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager.
After the new reboot the operating system should recognize the USB controllers again and needs to be reinstalled USB drivers.

After this short statement, try to connect the HARD drive to the laptop.

    I wish you good luck

  • USB device not shown in my computer

I do not understand what is the cause, anyway when I plug in any device USB on my laptop, I'll take the sound alert that Windows detects a USB (two high-pitched sounds), and the 'Remove hardware safely' icon at the bottom of the toolbar, Windows, so obviously recgonises a USB that I believe has been found , however, in my computer, the USB device is not here to open

I also downloaded a video on youtube showing the problem as I have explained

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=nvk1ZBQkXu0&feature=youtu.be

Perhaps Daemon Tools have something to do with it?

Edit: I forgot to mention, plug USB devices all worked before as...

Any help will be much appreciated, I'm not experienced with computers & programming either, thanks

Go to Device Manager and see if the CPU of the report is correct.
To access Device Manager, right click on the Windows Explorer, select manage.
    Click on Administrative Tools.
    Click on Device Manager.

Look at the entry for processor to see the speed of the CPU.
