external monitor (computer: t.v). __

s-video cord to the top of the Tower: t.v.

What is the exact problem you are facing?

If you have a S video output in your laptop before connecting it to the video input of the TV S.

Turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer.

Now, turn on your computer. You should see windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you will probably need to adjust the windows screen resolution.

If Windows is displayed on your TV, you will need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before connect you to your TV

  • How to reset the default monitor on Acer 2920, computer laptop think always connected to an external monitor

Hello, I hope you can help me! I have a laptop Aspire 2920 with Windows Vista Home Edition O.S. It starts and works fine except that after I used it with an external monitor (a tv screen) on the possibility of using the external monitor, it only now starting to think that the monitor is the flat screen tv and doesn't recognize the normal screen of the laptop. The laptop screen is now "pixeled" and shows only like 2/3 of its total width. I checked in Control Panel and it has recorded as the 'normal' monitor flat screen, but I can't way a find to tell the computer that the monitor is the same as usual and not the flat screen tv. Thank you!!!

    Dear Lawrence,

    I ve solved the problem.

Do you have your suggestion to reset and did not work, but keeping your idea, I hooked to an external monitor, mounted in Control Panel, remove the "non-existent" monitor in the device section.

At this point, I had no image at all in the laptop and only the external monitor.

Turn off the computer and then reset the power supply.

Because the computer did not all other monitors, he then had to use the one by default with the default resolution, etc..

Thanks, it was a great help!

I have a Qompac Presario cq56 laptop, running windows 7 home premium. I connect it to my TV via a vga to hdmi. It works fine when running on battery, but when I connect the power cord the computer starts to slow down and eventually freezes. Also when I plug the power into the screen decreases intensity. • Tecra A9 - external monitor shows scratches during the use of the computer laptop pluged.

    Hello

I heard at least Tecras A9 product witch scratches on the external display only 3 when the laptop is pluged. When you use the laptop with the battery, the monitor works fine. they tried to divide the monitor and power cables as far as possible, but still the same problem. When you use the laptop with a non-toshiba-AC adapter, the external monitor works fine.

    Hello

In my opinion, you should visit the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider. They can plug in your Tecra external monitors and test. If the result is the same, I am sure that you will get free AC adapter replacement.

Do not wait and discuss the days here. Contact with them and I hope they help you.

  • Pavilion 15ab165us computer laptop 15.6: How can I add an external monitor to my laptop HP Pavilion

    Hey1950, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you can use a USB port.  Here is a USB video adapter that should do what you need.  These adapters are designed for USB 2.0. but they make USB 3.0, also.  You can speak with a representative at StarTech to answer your questions about them.

  • Computer laptop screen showing only on external monitor

Phone a friend to view an image/display light and complete was obtained by opening and closing the screen repeatedly.  Now it shows a white screen on startup, shortly followed by a black screen.  When it is plugged into an external monitor, it appears normally, however, it seems that this only happens when the battery is not in the laptop, that the charger is plugged... (I tried to do with the battery and no charger but without success).

    My only question is:
Is this a problem with the inverter or portable LCD screen/cables or it could be a problem with the motherboard?  I thought since I could get a display with an external monitor, it couldn't be a problem with the motherboard...

Yes - hardware.  Could be really the screen itself or the video chipset on the card mother the power (or combination).

Download the manufacturer or a qualified person to work on the laptop computers of this specific manufacturer to fix.

  • MacBook Pro retina 15 inch heats up when it is connected to the external monitor

    Hello

My problem: When I connect my monitor (LG IPS277L) temperature of my Macbook Pro starts to heat upward. This problem often occurs when I use Facetime.

I found it really strange because I should have a pretty good Macbook Pro for this.

MacBook Pro (15 inch, retina, medio 2015)

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Iris Pro 1536 MB Intel / AMD Radeon R9 M370X

    El Captain 10.11.6 OSX

I hope that someone recognizes this problem and wants to share their solution.

When you connect to an external monitor, you use the AMD Chip for graphics (without the external screen, most of the software needs only the graphics engine Intel).  It attracts more power and therefore heats up.  All MacBook Pro for this to some extent.  This should be considered normal.  If the computer is actually overheating, it will stop.

  • External monitor works but integrated screen is not

    Hello

I have a model of Macbook Pro 13 of the retina (mid-2013) .

A few months back the display has stopped working, but when I hooked to an external monitor everything worked as expected except the screen of course.

I took it to the service center and a descent computer repair shop and they both said that display connection with the logic board is fried and they need to fix the logic board that retina display is fine.

The price they are quoting is about $ 900, which is not fair.

The logic card cannot be repaired?

anyone else in a similar situation?

If all the otherwise failed I think I'll delete the entire display of macbook. Someone knows how to do this?

    Thank you!

    Welcome to the CSA!

Because of the tiny parts and connections on a logic board, repair is usually not an option. I don't say it can't be done, but it's hard to find someone who can / will work on resolder delicate bits on a LB (redistribution) without making a mess of labor law.

You live in the United States? If so, ask about a "repair." Instead of working on the computer in the Apple Store, they send to Apple rehabilitation center where they pretty much fix everything what they find wrong inside (with the exception of the display unit itself) for a flat rate that is much lower than the cost that you quoted for repair in the store. I believe that the current price for this service is approximately US$ 315.

The only downside I see is that the repair takes about a week, largely during the transportation to and from the depot.

If you are not in the United States, ask anyway. I don't know what Apple has implemented for this kind of repair outside the United States.

  • Satellite Pro U200 - projector as external monitor

I try to connect a projector as external monitor. I use a HDMI adapter, VGA, because the entry in the projector.

If I use an old laptop, it works OK.
If I use my Satellite Pro U200, Modelo PLUA1E-02301RSP, the display shows only the initial screen,

I mean the landscape with the TOSHIBA logo, but it doesn't change.
If, for example, I look at some photos as I have both monitors running, the portable computer I see the photo, but the projector doesn't change, it shows only the landscape and logo.

    What can I do?

    Thank you and best regards,

I put t know if I understand you right but perhaps extended desktop enabled. You must disable this option in screen resolution settings.

Can move you the open Office Windows laptops to the pic you is on the projector?

  • Tecra Z50 - need to connect two external monitors

    * Hi-speed III Port Replicator is not an option, because it is not available in my country (Croatia).

    Hello

I don t think you will be able to connect two external monitors to this laptop using HDMI and RGB port at the same time because of different types of signals.

The RGB/VGA port supports analog signal.

The HDMI port provides the digital video output and when the external monitor is connected to the HDMI port the device is set to HDMI.

    > * Hi-speed III port replicator is not an option because it is not available in my country (Croatia).

  • Satellite Pro S300 - cannot extend the desktop to an external monitor

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro S300 and it won't extend the desktop to an external monitor / projector, but it will clone the desktop?

    so far I have tried:
2 instructors and 1 projector all do the same thing, will clone but not extend.
Reinstall the latest drivers to display on the Toshiba site.
Reinstall the latest drivers of change on the Toshiba site.

But nothing worked, I even checked my S300 colleagues to make sure that I use the same parameters and their (of 2 other s300) extend and clone office.

Has anyone seen this before and how solve you the problem?

    Paul

Did you first remove the old driver before you install the new driver? If this is not the case, try to reinstall the driver again. Therefore, to remove the old driver, restart the computer, use CCleaner to clean the registry and install the new version you can find on the Toshiba site.

More I would try updating the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site too.

I hope it works for you.
