• 11.1.1.3 - planning manually remove a classic Application

  We are caught between the hammer and the anvil. We have a corrupt Classic application and need to remove it as we need to deploy a new application of EPMA using the same name and the data source. We use an Oracle database, the storage space for this application so it is own tablespace. However, in my view, there are other tables that need to be changed in order to manually remove a classic planning app anyone have steps to properly remove a classic application of planning in 11.1.1.3?

  Remove the shared services application.
  Remove the essbase app (using the Regional service)
  Go to the planning of the tables relational system

  Table HSPSYS_APPLICATION, delete the line relating to the planning application, note the app_id.
  Table HSPSYS_APP_CLUSTER_DTL, delete the line with the id that you noted right down (a record can exist not so just, skip this step)
  Table HSPSYS_PROPERTIES, delete records with the id that you noted down.
  Table HSPSYS_DATASOURCES, app_id-1 update to the data source that you use for planning about (if you do not use the datasource once again simply remove the folder)

  Restart planning.
  Drop/recreate the schema for the planning application, it's so the schema can be used again when you re-create the application.
  Start again.

  I'm migrating my classic application of 11.1.2.3 to 11.1.2.4 and trying to manually create the shell application in the destination. What I notice is

  In 11.1.2.4 on manage plan type screen request I am unable to uncheck the checkbox ASO. I have to put values in two areas of text next to the checkbox ASO. We don't have to ASO is enabled in 11.1.2.3. I wonder

  Should I let check and what value should I put in the text boxes

  What would be the impact if I keep the ASO box checked for migration. It is unchecked in 11.1.2.3

  I created a classic application in EMP 11.1.2 using the classic planning administration.
  
  I received the congratulatory message, indicating that the application has been created successfully.
  
  My problem is that the classic application that is created is not displayed in the library of the application, is this normal?

  It is true that you can see the plan, dimensions by means of the EAS, but you should not change or manage by EAS for a planning application as it should be done in the planning and then pushed to essbase.
  If you created a new planning application, you will need to connect to the planning application, then run a refresh to essbase.

• Upgrade to classic application HFM EPMA works not

  I'm trying to upgrade a classic application of EPMA using the "request Upgrade Assistant" in HFM 11.1.1.3. Verifying upgrade requests, I receive the following errormessage:
  
  Cannot upgrade application TOTCONSOL - cannot find application server information. Instance =, listener = AppServer = nl-s - lim00005.fin.local, WebServer = nl-s - lim00002.fin.local, DataSource = NONE
  
  The application works well and is accessible without any problems. Does anyone know what causes this error and what could be the solution?

• Analytics to extend for creation of star of HFM application schema

  I'm trying to create the star schema via Analytics extended HFM application but with the below error

  I have an installation of Windows Server 2003 Ent Terminalserver. Here, I am able to select a colorscheme like classic windows (extra-large).
  On an other W2K3 Terminalserver, I am not able to select. Only normal color schemes are possible.
  How can I get these additional color schemes.

  For some reason any my menu of the taskbar and start suddenly changed to the classic system of windows.

  I am running Windows Home Premium and have attempted to reverse to the standard vista scheme through customization > window color and appearance, but has only Windows Classic as an option.

  I also right click on the bar of tasks and disappeared on properties in this way, it shows the taskbar as the standard version of Vista but the taskbar is still in basic.

  I used the diagnosis of DirectX tool tests to see if an error has caused this, but it does not revisit what whatsoever, and my laptop recognizes that it runs Windows Home Premium.

  Also tried to restart, but nothing changes...

  The only thing that I think may be linked to this is after a recent update of the last time that I closed my laptop, but I don't see what update it was.

  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  I found that if you go to the computer, right click on it, go on manage, then go to Services on the left column, scroll down to find topics, left-click and then in the upper left of this part of the screen there is a link to restart the Service, click , click on it, it will restart the service for the themes. Once she had him restart the service for the themes, right click on your desktop, go into customize and if you change your theme, your Vista Basic theme should be back. I hope this helps someone.

  What is practical common Production of creating schema?
  
  Do I need to have separate the schema for the objects in the APEX and workspace AND have connected it to my production application diagram where all applications related tables?

  I'm not sure you understand the architecture of the Apex, and maybe a brief explanation will answer your question.

  When you create a workspace Apex, you associate this workspace with an Oracle schema that is the scheme of analysis, which means that all the code you produce as part of your application is running as this drawing. This scheme would then usually become the owner of all your objects in Oracle database such as tables, views, indexes, packages, etc. (it may be more complicated with multiple schemas, but lets keep things simple for now)

  Then, you just create an Apex application against this schema. Objects Apex you create, applications, pages, regions, sections, etc., are not actually stored in this scheme. They are associated with this scheme of working space and are actually stored in a metadata structure of the schema of the Apex, which you never touch directly, but interact with through the actual application of the Apex. If you logged on to your schema analysis through SQLPlus and tried to find objects of the Apex by querying the metadata of normal database views that you won't find anything.

  Back to the thing of multiple schemas, for small and medium-sized applications that are purely for Apex, I would recommend that you keep everything in a single schema and use this schema in the schema of your analysis. For applications more complex, a purely database design point of view, it may be better to split your application into several scheme in multiple schemas. In this case, you will need create a scheme of analysis or use one of the existing schemas as a scheme of analysis and then to maintain a system of grants and synonyms between patterns to identify all patterns of Apex, although only can be the analysis schema.

  There is a theory going around that promotes separation between schemas that have database objects and schema that connects an application like. This is mainly for security and safety so that developers do not damage the application of database and end users access without authorization through techniques such as SQL injection. This can be a concern with the very big development projects with large and/or public user databases. I tend to think, however, that this is not the typical target for applications of Apex (Apex is appropriate in this case API is another debate) and using this architecture of sorting is excessive in most cases.

  We left the classic database, but now we know we have to convert in EMP in order to easily manage metadata.
  
  In help, for the "Transforming traditional application in performance" box, there is a sine qua non:
  
  •Before to transform a classic Performance Management architect planning application, remove all spaces in the names of the dimensions of the attribute. For example, rename an attribute called Extra Small for ExtraSmall.
  
  Here are my questions:
  
  (1) what exactly does means 'Dimension of the attribute? This is the label that is given to all member attributes? Or does that mean the name of the dimension? For example, we have a dimension called 'Entity', which contains members with labels like 'NonGuarantorBMD' or 'Inc. tax Exp '. I think that these members?
  
  (2) what happens if you do not change them? Afterwards you can their difficulty? The system entire crash and burn? It gives you a friendly warning?

  The attribute dimensions are for Essbase/Planning, not HFM, so this does not apply to you.

  Hi guys,.
  
  Is there a mechanism where I can export my database to a .sql file schema in APEX?
  
  I know that I can empty an entire application via "EXPORT an APPLICATION" in the Application Builder but I want to dump create statements for all schema objects (tables, triggers, sequences, db links etc) in the schema used by the application.
  
  So I could use to implement schema objects in my database of deployment before putting the application on top of it.
  
  Us look round in the workshop of SQL could not find something like that.
  
  Would be awesome if someone can point me in the right direction.
