Taskbar Windows Vista Home Premium, changed to the classic color scheme after update.
For some reason any my menu of the taskbar and start suddenly changed to the classic system of windows.
I am running Windows Home Premium and have attempted to reverse to the standard vista scheme through customization > window color and appearance, but has only Windows Classic as an option.
I also right click on the bar of tasks and disappeared on properties in this way, it shows the taskbar as the standard version of Vista but the taskbar is still in basic.
I used the diagnosis of DirectX tool tests to see if an error has caused this, but it does not revisit what whatsoever, and my laptop recognizes that it runs Windows Home Premium.
Also tried to restart, but nothing changes...
The only thing that I think may be linked to this is after a recent update of the last time that I closed my laptop, but I don't see what update it was.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I found that if you go to the computer, right click on it, go on manage, then go to Services on the left column, scroll down to find topics, left-click and then in the upper left of this part of the screen there is a link to restart the Service, click , click on it, it will restart the service for the themes. Once she had him restart the service for the themes, right click on your desktop, go into customize and if you change your theme, your Vista Basic theme should be back. I hope this helps someone.

Hello! I have a portable M-6752 Gateway under Vista Home Premium. It was perfectly functional this morning 11/05/2011. Then I noticed the sign (of exclamation in a circle) who said the new updates. So I started the update and thought nothing of it. It was until an hour later and I realize that my laptop was still updated.
Right now I am stuck in a loop between "Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3-0% complete.» Do not turn off your computer' and auto restart.I tried to restart in 'safe mode' and 'safe mode with network. These attempts did not help. I'm still stuck in the loop and my laptop is overheating. The only thing I could do was to be able to. Fact that several times already.Fortunately, I have another laptop and is able to ask for help. Can someone help me? I'm NOT a technical person. Thank you.Thank you, but my laptop WAS running Service Pack 2 when this problem happened. It has been resolved. For anyone having this problem, here is my experience and solution.
When I found myself stuck in a loop and my laptop keeps restarting without giving an error message, it began to overheat. I turned off. When I turned on it again the screen "Advanced Boot Options" appeared. I chose 'Safe Mode'. Then, I went to "Configuring updates...". ». Machine started himself reboot again. It happened a few times. Finally I had to turn the phone off again. All of a sudden when I turned on again, the "Windows Error Recovery" screen comes on. There is a choice, 'Launch Startup Repair'. I chose this. Machine asked me if it is allowed to create restore point. Of course. Then I GOT! I was saved by Windows self-diagnosis program.If you are not familiar with the screens that I mentioned, please search 'screen name' and the word 'image' as a whole. You will see what these screens look like.Now I realize there is another way to reach the Startup Repair. When you turn on again, press the F8 key several times. Which will bring you to the early Startup Options screen. On advance Boot Options, there is a choice 'repair your computer', scroll down to this choice, press ENTER.Turning off my machine during the restart is another way to force the "early start Options" screen appears.I read that some do not have the "Repair your computer" option according to your PC in the screen «In advance Startup Options» You will need to know how to get to the "Windows Error Recovery" screen.As a last resort, you can restart Vista recovery disk. Many manufacturers do not understand that when they send the PC for you. However, it is available for download for free on the internet. You can download and make your own within 30 minutes. I hope this helps! -

Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
updates after clean install of Vista Home premium
I plan on upgrading the hard drive on my laptop two year old, which will require a clean install of Vista Home Edition full. I live in a remote with the satellite internet service. I would like to know in advance what will happen after the installation with the updates of the program. I will ask you to install them? It would take a lot of bandwidth?
Hi EllenCB,
Welcome to Windows Vista community responses.
Once you make a clean installation on your hard drive is erased. Now, when you install the operating system return updates that have been deleted will be delivered by Windows update to install on your computer. To save time and bandwidth, you can directly install Service pack 1 and Service pack 2 for Vista which would contain more updates. Of course when you run Windows update and when you try to download from the internet, your download speed will decrease. It is best to keep your system up to date which will allow your version of Windows to run better.
Before installing the update, run the checksur tool, this tool is running an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations. Download the tool from the link below.
Windows Vista Home Premium update froze during the 'configuration' June 30, 2009.
Received notification of five updates to install on my computer Windows Vista Home Premium, one of them being Internet Explorer 8. All the downloaded slowly. Each of them appeared to install, but slowly and I left the computer while he was installing the 3rd update. When I came back it had evolved in the 'Configuration' screen (always see after there are updates and it restarts) and sat there for hours. It reads "Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3, 0% complete. The percentage of nevers turns off 0%. I finally turned off the computer and when she started he said windows had not closed properly so I chose the Safe Mode option. He immediately went the same configuration screen. I left it again for 4 hours, but no change. What should I do?
The laptop is a HP tablet PC.
Here's how to uninstall the ones you don't want.
And how to change the settings of update and IE8 HIDE update!
Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window
> then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
> Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the bad.
> or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
my computer has windows vista basic on it when I went to athinticate, he told me it was a pirate down load that I looked on the bottom of my lap top and I am supposed to have windows vista Home premium. How can I solve this problem with a disc
Hello
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:
How to change the Boot order in BIOS:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm
"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246
See if you have a recovery Partition:
There may be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Vista to how you bought your computer, unless the pirated installation wiped.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
