Extremely slow Mac (randomly), memory full, fine CPU
Am trouble solving what is wrong, but Mac running super slow (sometimes free of charge for a minute or two). Upgrade to El Capitan - didn't help or hurt. Reset the PRAM and SMC. Free space on hard drive (23% free). Disc/Onyx utility run and no problem (except for the permissions). Look at the activity monitor and do not think it is CPU. memory but was not always - higher use Kernal_task (450MB). Using the drive show up sometimes (but not sure connected to issue). Indexing off the coast. Created a new account to log on; the same problem. All the troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Having no more info on your part, your symptoms sound like problems due to unnecessary third-pary software. The following actions apply to your computer? :
(1) you run anti-virus/internet security applications?
(2) you are running applications "cleaning/tune-up/optimization?
(3) all-to-peer or torrent software download?
(4) any third-party disk backup software which came bundled with an external hard drive?
(5) any system other than iCloud (Carbonite Online backup; GoogleDrive; A MS Reader)?
(6) not at your financial institution you request to install Trusteer EndPoint Protection (also known as the Trusteer report)?
In the early period OSX, Onyx has been a useful tool with some of its functions, but others might cause problems if misapplied. Today, Mac OSX takes good care of herself and does things like Onyx. I don't think I need since the upgrade to OS 10.4.
Look at the activity monitor and do not think it is CPU.
Look at the activity monitor won't help unles you have properly defined ' view' menu. You must set the display to "All processes" or you can miss some very nasty process behaves badly.

I run a mini end 2012 with 16 GB. It's fast... I also have SSD which also provides the spectacular for startup performance improvement and any disk activity.

Have you reset the NVRAM and SMC memory since installing the RAM?
Restart and hold down the command-Option-P-R keys immediately after you hear the startup sound.

My Mac Mini (end 2012) 2.5 ghz memory 8 GB Yosemite 10.10.5 is extremely slow. I read a few articles on communities, but unable to solve the problem. I plan to upgrade memory soon. In addition, a video game doesn't quite work. It starts and stops in 5 seconds and restarts it for a few seconds and stops completely. An advisor to fix the problem will be appreciated.
When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

Cookies do not affect the performance of Mac, and there is no advantage in "defragmentation". Do not use any product that claims to "clean up" your Mac either. They are all scams.
Back up your Mac if you have not already done so. Read https://www.apple.com/support/backup/to learn how to do this. To learn how to use Time Machine read to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.
Determine if the problems persist also in 'Safe Mode':
- "Safe Boot" or Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all system of third-party extensions and only loads the required system components. Read about it: departure upward in Safe Mode
- You must turn off FileVault before you start your Mac in Mode without failure.
- From your Mac in Safe Mode takes longer that usual, graphics won't get smooth, audio is disabled on some Macs and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
- Just from your Mac in Safe Mode does not solve the problem, it's to observe its performance without additional components.
- To end, Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Stop will take more time as well.

Try to install 9 Captivate. Mac has been extremely slow, so I had to stop and restart early in the installation process. You can start by uninstalling the remains of CleanMyMac3. But I do not think that this will greatly improve things. The long duration of Etrecheck indicates that the hard drive has failed.

Windows 7 is extremely slow to return to the screen saver mode.
I installed upgrading Windows 7 on my computer and everything is fine. However, when the system is idle and past in mode screensaver (with or without a password), the return of the screen saver mode are extremely slow (just a white screen). It is sometimes quick, sometimes it comes back in 3-4 minutes, but most of the time it takes a long time.
The system is a low end, but more than enough to manage w7. It consist of:
Pentium dual core (2140)
2 gig memory
NVIDIA 7300GT 256MI tried to delete the zone alarm security suite, does not solve the problem
thought it was the HP 2610 print software, removed and still happens.
update the bios (MSI p4m900)can someone figure this. Is there something that prevents him to return to the desktop.
Note that, I try to reboot from the blank screen by pressing the windows, right arrow, return. But I think also, it does not address key strokes.

I found a way to fix it! I did this:
1. Press win + r and run msconfig. Go to tools and brand to troubleshoot the computer, and then click Start.
2. then go to system and security and press electricityballance (not sure of the name in English because I have a Norwegian version..).
3. restart your computer.
4. my screen saver was not afterwards, but I gave it to display photos and now it works perfectly!
When I checked the general tab afterwards, it did not have the checkbox to use the... start (a last..) one has been verified and the second has a blue full mark.

Extremely slow performance with Radeon HD 7870

I use a number of Adobe programs on my new 64 bit system of Windows 8, with 16 GB of ram, a processor Intel Core 2.67 ghz i5 and AMD Radeon HD 7870 2 gig. All programs (including After Effects and Illustrator) work very well with the exception of Photoshop CS6 64 bits, which is extremely slow performance with GPU to use enabled in my preferences (Photoshop selects by default). If I disable the graphic processor use, this slowdown faints. If I change the Basic Design Mode, there might be a slightly detectable improvement during Normal and advanced, but it is still horribly slow. The refresh rate seems to be only a few frames per second. Everything is slow: brushes, zoom, panoramic, as well.
I tried changing the settings I've seen suggested elsewhere: I went 2 level of Cache, history says 10 and the size of the tile to 128 k. No effect. Photoshop is currently the default using 60 percent of available ram. Efficiency has remained 100% overall of all my tests. In addition, this slow performance touched me from the moment that I installed Photoshop; It didn't arise after previous good performance. The problem exists regardless of the size or the number of documents that I opened. Performance is always terrible, even when I create a new blank canvas of 500 x 500 pixels and try a simple task like drawing with a brush.
Photoshop is perfectly up to date, and so are my graphic drivers (Catalyst version 13.1). Any help would be greatly appreciated; yet performance is so bad in Photoshop it is unusable, graphic acceleration activated. Thanks in advance for the answer.

I use Catalyst 12.8 pilots at the moment and have a Windows 7 system and have a remote access utility called Radmin installed, but I don't know if seeing that Microsoft based Render driver is provided on Windows 8. It seems that this could be the key, as the basic OpenGL implementation of Microsoft is made all in software. If somehow driver Microsoft took control and you don't get really the GPU acceleration, then that would surely make things really slow.

Have you tried a full, complete deletion ATI driver and reinstall from for example, 13.2 beta? Here is the removal of ATI tool:

Avoid using third-party cleaning software. This software does more harm than good. You don't need it. All computers become slower over time even in normal conditions of use. Experienced users erasing the hard drive and do a clean install from scratch, from time to time; or every time that the installation of a major update of the OS. Do means if you must maintain regular and several backups.
Add more RAM or reduce the number of simultaneously executed from applications and utilities. Delete unnecessary anti-malware software and any software that promises to clean your Mac. Look for the runaway process: Runaway applications can shorten the battery life, affect performance and increase the heat and fan activity. Internet on Windows 10 extremely slow
My Mac Pro has recently been having a strange problem. When I open the boot camp menu by pressing the option key, when I try to select Windows, it displays a BSOD. However, when I leave the default at startup, it works fine... except, however, for the extremely slow speeds (7 Mbps compared to the usual 130 Mbit/s). Does anyone else have this problem? It is a new Mac Pro, so it is not old or anything.

I'm having a problem with extreme slowness. I have read all the post and don't see anything that I could change to correct this situation. I have my music on an external disk file using the FireWire on my iMac. I have the latest Mac os 10.11.1 and the latest iTunes version 12.3.1.23.
I lit the apple music, but I'm not using the icloud or search service
I have 127,88 GB of music on any external drive
At this point, I am considering canceling music apple and past to another service, and I plan to download an alternative product to iTunes.

One thing you should do is to run disk utility and test the volume of the external drive to confirm that there is no alteration of the data on it. You can do this by selecting the disk external volume (indented under the Unit) in the disk utility sidebar. Click on the button of first aid , then run it. My iTunes Media , also on an external FireWire drive folder, is currently 315 GB (with things that take more space as films, TV series, video podcasts, etc.). I actively use two Match iTunes and music from Apple. I don't feel any slowness. You can do additional tests on your system to determine the cause.

Windows 7 extremely slow startup
I have an extremely slow Windows 7 startup time. It takes 3-4 minutes to start and then 2-3 minutes before I can actually use the computer. I went into Ms-config and especially disabled services at startup, I got him to start with all my carrots and RAM MAX I tried Glary Utilities and Kingsoft PC Wizard to try to improve the startup time. Nothing did.

I cannot fail to plug, and Windows works fine, once it gets past the 6-8 minutes to before I can actually use it. It's incredibly frustrating is the slowness. I'm open to suggestions. I have alos repeatedly run Norton anti-virus and found no viruses or issues.
After another reboot, it seems that the deletion of my anti-virus, corrected the problem of slow start. She went from 4.5 minutes to about 1 minute and 20 seconds.

I tried to access to the shared both directory a Vista and XP machine via cable connections and wireless to my Win 7 64 bit machine on the part and it is extremely slow to read, but not written. Not only the directory never takes show all thumbnails, and then open a file that is a couple mb in size as a photo takes more than a minute. However, if I try to write the same file sharing, it takes only 5 seconds. This fine all worked until I went from the version release candidate for the final version a few weeks ago. I ran the Windows 7 network troublshooter last night and used the troubleshooter for incoming connections and he says that it found a problem but that he could not fix and he really had nothing to help me. But I think he sent the information in Microsoft... not sure. Next time, I'm at home, I'll run again and try to put all the gross results that I could not understand in this thread.
I've also updated my driver for the network card and redone permissions and actions several times. I just had to move my public and directories user space on the D: partition and share everything. At least for me, it was a setting in the Advanced tab of the network adapter. I have a Realtek Gigabit network card and one of the places must have been missed incorrectly.
I changed the 2 following settings to "disabled", and he immediately started working very well.

How can I speed up loading Photoshop elements V14 win 10. It is extremely slow
I just installed Photoshop elements V14 on a PC with Win 10 Pro 64-bit. The PC has CPU i5-2500 3.3 GHz, 8 GB of memory with a 500 GB SSD.
It is extremely slow loading. I'm upgrading to V12 by using the same file in both versions (converter for V14). The V14 takes 15 to 20 times as long to load.
Does anyone have a suggestion on speeding up commissioning?

In my initial note I should have identified my current version like 11 No 12.
I do not have the file of catalog on a network drive and I am connected to internet at the launch of elements Organizer.
As a further test, I moved the catalog of V 11 and V 14 files on my local drive which is a 500 GB SSD.
I ran and timed the same tests that I ran with the catalog on a network drive files.
The results were essentially the same thing with each test in 2 seconds faster on the local SSD.
11 v took 6 sec and V 14 took 150 seconds or 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
I also ran the new empty catalog test you requested. I created the new files to the local SSD.
The new V 11 file launched in less than a second, that it's too fast to measure.
The launch of a new file V 14 took a little more than 9 seconds.
Size of catalog file, regarding my current catalog has 57085 points.
V 11 db catalog file is 146 690 Ko with an inch of 792990 KB cache.
The conversion of catalogue V 14 of the V 11 file is 231 083 KB with an inch of 1 291 758 KB cache.
The V 11 has no problem with catalog picture file size but V 14 still has a very long time.
I want to upgrade to V 14 but I can't with her more time to start a new empty file V 11 to launch a file of more than 57 000 points...
