F10-125: PAL I (uk) vs PAL B/G (continent)

I am considering buying a F10-125 in the UK or in Holland, because I spend time in both countries on a regular basis. I noticed that the F10-125 is sometimes indicated with spec PAL/SECAM and other times just as PAL. Given that some sellers say just the machine spec UK can show TV the PAL I have standard (as in the United Kingdom) not PAL-B/G and Secam and other his he can even do NTSC (which I'm sure that this is impossible) I wonder if this is the correct machine for me.

In other words the PAL machine is suitable for the UK and continental PAL? So can I buy it in Holland or in the UK and can I watch TV on it instead of me in Holland, as well as in London?

I hope someone out there can shed some light on this...

Hello

As far as I know you can watch TV in both countries, but you should first set TV type in the settings of the BIOS to PAL. In Windows media Center, it is possible to change the TV Signal for all regions. I noticed that there are 260 different parts of the world.

I didn t try to configure my WMC in another country, but in my opinion there is no reason why it shouldn't work in these two countries that you mentioned.

A few days ago there was a post saying that good news for the capture has been discovered. I think that most of you have read and tried to use it. There was a link in it where all the problems of capture have been resolved. My problem is that this link which was published it has not worked for me and so I'm still with the problem of the capture of all the inputs that mt F10-125 films.

Can someone help me solve the problem please?

    Hello

Obviously this link doesn t work more. Check the BIOS settings please. There should be an option called display stretching or something like that. It must be set to enabled.

Check the programming of the channels also manual and fine adjustment. You can find under Setup menu.

I found the advice of Microsoft, how to install the cumulative update 2 for MCE KB900325
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/900325

Microsoft says to install this update, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installed.

    > I already remove hotfix Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904) computer because of
    > Microsoft recommends that before installation

Of course they recommend to remove this hotfix KB886904 because otherwise, installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will not succeed. But if you have already installed the Framework 1.1 SP1 you don t had to remove the hotfix KB886904.

However, it is an area of Microsoft and I recommend you ask MS support why impossible to install the patches of singles

  • Qosmio F10-125 TV tuner

I just took delivery of a F10. Excitedly, I plugged the Jack on the back of the PC to the regular Arial and searched the signal by the auto scan the media Wizard. No signal has been detected. I tried to use the analog RF signal of my Sky digi-box, which must be a good sign that can be achieved. Still nothing. In both cases, coaxial cables carrying a signal healthy as evidenced by TV happily play all channels on the cable from the two sources

Someone knows what to do? or this wonder Qosmio F10 is a joke!

    Hi Ron

As far as I know that you use Composite in the port if you want to watch TV using Qosmio player. In this case, you can change the channel on your cable box and watch it on your Qoamio. In this case, Qosmio player should find a single channel.

Composite in the port is for video and audio signals. If you use S - VHS to it's just for video signal without the sound and I don't know if it will work properly with Qoamio player.
Please try again with Composite in the port. I am very interesting if there is some success.

Have updated my F10 Vista but cannot find a driver that will support Aero also I get a message from pilot blocked for toshiba common modules.
    Can someone advise?

You n t need to install any special drivers to activate the Aero.
Aero is a part of the Vista! Usually, you can use the Aero by pressing the Windows and TAB key

But not all computer laptop and material supports Aero!
On the Microsoft Web site, you will find information on hardware specifications that are needed to use the Aero feature

  • Qosmio F10 reviews

I am currently deciding whether to buy a Qosmio F10. There seems to be 3 versions available for me the 100 F10, F10 - 124 and the F10-125. The F10-125 seems to be the best?

I am concerned about the TV reception - if I simply plug an antenna on the standard roof at the rear of the Qosmio will I get a pretty decent reception (as I do when I look at the TV)? Also I've obviously not will keep the tv aerial permanently connected, so whenever I want to watch tv, I'm going to have to retune the Qosmio?

What should I do to watch freeview digital tv, that is if I buy a box of TNT can I just plug in the back of the Qosmio that appear all channels?

There seems to be 2 ways to watch TV 1) the MCE Qosmio Player 2). From a previous post, it seems that the remote control only works with the Qosmio player?

In general any opinion with the ease and convenience of watching TV on the Qosmio would be appreciated so I can judge whether it is worth spending me the money to get this facility.

Anyone know where I can buy one on good terms?

    Hello

Sorry, but in my opinion you should take some of the information detailed by local vendor because here you can ask a lot of questions and at the same time check all components and the ports you need to watch TV.

In any case, I'll try to give you my opinion in a few words.

I agree with you that F10 - 125 is the best. This device has everything that the laptop need including Bluetooth. There is no reason to worry about the TV reception because Qosmio has enough video - in ports that you can use every possibility to watch TV.

If you want to use cable TV its antenna in the port and you can watch TV on two tracks. First used Qosmio player without OS boot or using MCE that is built into the OS. MCE using it also records option available.

While watching TV with the help of an external receiver, you can use composite port. To watch TV you can use Qosmio player, but in this case Qosmio player will find a single usable channel and you can choose the programs using the remote control receiver.

My opinion is generally that the F10 is a great machine. Check also the series G and compare it with the F-series.

Before buy you Google around and check prices.

  • F10-100 what is the difference?

    Hi people.

I bought a F10 - 100 renovated in the United Kingdom, but I realized that most of the models there are the F10-125 +.

Does anyone know what are the differences (separate) beteew these modles and mines. its just curious im asking because I want to know (what) my F10-100 is missing!...
I purchsed a F10 (CRRAP) models? Should I go out just splash and return on a new brand?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

There's not much difference. Qosmio F100-125 has Bluetooth and not another. If you want to check the only specification on http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/model_index_page.jsp?service=UK&ID=96787.

F10 - 125 is the best in my opinion.

  • Qosmio F10: tips on Bluetooth technology

    Hi all
I was wondering if I could get help - I just got a new qosmio f10-125, as it has been reduced with the F20 coming out. I have a bluetooth phone but can't seem to find how to work the bluetooth on the qosmio.

Could someone give me some advice?

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, you should check if the Bluetooth is on board or not. The best way to do is to check the Bluetooth label in the lower corner of the laptop. On this page please http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?z=96&service=EU&FID=tro000000189d.

As far as I know that some of the Qosmio F10 series have no Bluetooth. Please check everything first and write again.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F10: TV tuner pal/Secam

    Nice day

One of my friends has a Toshiba Qosmio F10 of France in Ireland. Everything works fine except for the (tuner) tv.

I read in a previous thread on how to get a tv signal in the Qosmio player which worked for me as well.

Problem is that this signal is "encoded" and now that I know a bit more about the standards of television used in Europe, I'm pretty sure that the tuner is set to Secam (laptop was purchased in France, after all).

Anyone who knows how I can configure the PAL standard.
The fact that this machine is the french version of XP MCE is not help either that my french is rusty to say the least.

I know that Gettysburg mentioned in a previous thread that manually operated standard tv, too bad he doesn't explain how :-)
Only that I can find is I NTHE bios but it is only for the tv (pal or ntsc), then that does not work either.

Please help me, frustrated here, not a good thing...

    Hello

as far as I know the series Qosmio with MCE and TV tuner is specific countries because in Europe there are different standards of television for each country!

    Sorry!

MY SIMPLE QUESTION IS IF APPLE TV BOUGHT IN INDIA WILL WORK WITH THE OTHER TV BOUGHT US AND USING IT IN INDIA AS THERE IS DIFFERENCE IN OS PAL OR NTSC. OF COURSE THE DIFFERENCE IS THERE IN TENSION, BUT FOR THIS, WE CAN USE A TRANSFORMER.

You will probably need to change the plug but otherwise there is no difference, the Apple TV anywhere will work everywhere.
