Qosmio F10: TV tuner pal/Secam

Nice day

One of my friends has a Toshiba Qosmio F10 of France in Ireland. Everything works fine except for the (tuner) tv.

I read in a previous thread on how to get a tv signal in the Qosmio player which worked for me as well.

Problem is that this signal is "encoded" and now that I know a bit more about the standards of television used in Europe, I'm pretty sure that the tuner is set to Secam (laptop was purchased in France, after all).

Anyone who knows how I can configure the PAL standard.
The fact that this machine is the french version of XP MCE is not help either that my french is rusty to say the least.

I know that Gettysburg mentioned in a previous thread that manually operated standard tv, too bad he doesn't explain how :-)
Only that I can find is I NTHE bios but it is only for the tv (pal or ntsc), then that does not work either.

Please help me, frustrated here, not a good thing...

Hello

as far as I know the series Qosmio with MCE and TV tuner is specific countries because in Europe there are different standards of television for each country!

Sorry!
Bob

  • Qosmio F10: Cannot set up the TV Tuner!

I can't be able to receive any form of TV on my Qosmio F10 signal.

I tried a manual and automatic TV signal setup in Windows Media Center, while only connected to various points of antenna and my satellite receiver, but the software manages never actually receive any form of signal.

I checked each of the cables works properly by connecting it to a TV, and there is certainly a good signal.

All I can think is there is a problem with my Toshiba TV Tuner hardware (I uninstalled and rebooted to reinstall drivers TV Tuner), or possibly the adapter cable little.

    Someone else had this problem?

    Any ideas?

Ok... No one has any ideas, then!

Here's an update... I took my Qosmio F10 at the shop where I bought and showed them the problem.

They were very helpful and offered to test their display machine. He struggled, but finally picked up a garbled from an antenna signal.

They agreed that my Qosmio was wrong and pulled another out of stock. We decided to check quickly to see that another did not pick up a signal either!

As they had no more stock, I agreed to take the display model at home, because we knew that it worked.

Since then, I only managed to get for my Sky Digital receiver by manually telling it what channel it is on (68) and have not been able to set up anything via a terrestrial antenna!

I have connected the original problem with the technical support of Toshiba, who said that it should be referred to their team of level three, who work office hours only. I have been waiting for four days for a response and am not a happy chappy!

I bought a new Qosmio F10-101... since he has previously installed Win XP Home, I reinstalled the operating system XP Professional... this time the Device Manager is to give a warning to a PCI device that is supposed to be the TV tuner... I'm looking for the TV tuner driver which works on XP Pro... any help is appreciated...

  • No tuner = no S-Video capture! (Qosmio F10-101)

I just bought Qosmio F10-101, which comes without a TV tuner. I tried everything to save my VCR to the computer's S-video input, but this is not possible. I have already installed the registry patch and I tested several applications like WinDVD Creator video recording supplied with the machine, they do not all video input ports.

The main reason why I bought this machine, it's that I thought that the S-video input could be used for recording the video on the hard drive. But it seems that this is not the case.

So, I'm supposed to return the unit for another model? Or is there a workaround to record a S-video input to the hard drive? Please, remember that this isn't a TV tuner.

    TIA

    Hello Tia

I installed Mandriva on my Toshiba Qosmio F10-128 but I'm looking for the driver for the tv tuner, and I'm also looking for a tv software that will run with this type of tuner.

    Does anyone have an idea?

I heard that Qosmi Player is based on linux so I guess that a linux for a tv tuner driver is available, but I can't find on the website of toshiba :'(

    Hello

Sorry, but I don't believe you can find this kind of information somewhere. Maybe you should contact the service partner. A few technicians can give you this kind of information.

  • Slow down the TV Tuner on my Qosmio F10

    Hello
I have a Qosmio F10 which comes with a tv tuner. The software that comes with it to watch TV is Inter WinDVR 5 video. But the problem is that this software seems to be very slow, changing channels takes like 5 seconds to go from one channel to the other...
Someone know how to resolv this problem? Or do I have to use other software and if so, which? (I tried to download some software on the internet, but none were compatible with the card provided with the Qosmio.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I really never heard this kind of question. It will be interesting to know what Qosmio F10 you have. Most of the Qosmio laptops comes with edition of WMC and Qosmioplayes. Two of them allow you to watch TV programs.

If you can give us more information on your device, please write again and if there is a solution to your problem, it will be interesting to know how you solved it.

  • Video capture without tuner TV Qosmio F10

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10-101. It does not include a TV tuner, but I have composite and s video in. How can I capture any film?
    Please I really need help!

    Hello

And which device must be the source of the video signal?

  • Qosmio F10-101 does not have a TV tuner

    Hello

I bought my F10 about 2 years ago. It is actually a F10-101. I picked the local official Toshiba site (Turkey). On the web page, he said that F10 comes with a TV Tuner (such as all the Qosmios). Also I checked it on the site of toshiba - Europe.com. The local page was actually just a copy/paste of the toshiba - Europe.com

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?PRODUCT_ID=98310&DISC_M OD = 1 & service = EU

2-3 days later, I bought the computer. Since I knew that the specifications, I didn't ask questions. When I got home, I realized that there was no TV Tuner on my machine, or remote control. I called the dealer that I bought, they said that none of the F10s have TV Tuners.

I sent to the local distributor of Toshiba on the problem, why this is so. They do not even condescend to answer. The TV Tuner functionality is also excluded from the site 2-3 days later (I also sent Toshiba International, but I was told to contact your local Distributor).
I didn't actually buy my Qosmio for its TV Tuner functionality. But this isn't what Qosmio is made for?

I didn't have to return to the computer dealer, because it is a very good machine in addition to its multimedia capabilities. I say "was" because of some problems of motherboard, I am facing nowadays. I'm a little start to Brown it off.

What would you do if the same thing has happened to you?

    Hello Cagri

It is well known that you have time to 14 days for the product if you are not satisfied. I don't know how it works in your country, but here where I live I can bring it if I am not convinced. I will also say that after buying a new product each of us should check the product, and if something is not as described in the product description, we must respond as soon as possible and dealer.

Qosmio F10 does not work for me because it's one of the first laptops Qosmio but one thing confuses me. According to the specifications of the laptop it comes with WXP Home. Am I wrong? As far as I know to use the TV tuner you need Media Center Edition.

Sorry, but it's really not easy to be objective enough. After 2 years is now too late for all the complaints. I just hope that you still like your toy and I have a lot of fun with it.

    Good bye

  • Dysfunction of Qosmio F10 Windows MCE TV Tuner

    Hey everybody

I use a Qosmio F10. Now for a few good years, anyway he came the age old time do a restore cd revovery just to speed him up again and the dealer him a new lease of life.

Everything worked fine after the relocation outside the TV in Media Center, there is no option to watch TV in the program, and whenever I try to go into the settings of the TV I get the message "the tuner is defective or not installed. Please make sure that the tuner and a driver are installed. »

I installed the latest driver, and I can get the TV running using the Qosmio player, so the problem seems to lie with Media Center. I don't know what else to try, everyone has to get suggestions?
    -Stu-

    Hello

Have you installed all the updates?
In addition, the TV tuner driver you will find on the page of the Toshiba driver is designed for MCE. AFAIK the Qosmio player uses the own TV tuner driver.

The pilot on the Toshiba page has been changed to 08/01/05. It s a 1.0.26 version.

  • Qosmio F10-125 TV tuner

I just took delivery of a F10. Excitedly, I plugged the Jack on the back of the PC to the regular Arial and searched the signal by the auto scan the media Wizard. No signal has been detected. I tried to use the analog RF signal of my Sky digi-box, which must be a good sign that can be achieved. Still nothing. In both cases, coaxial cables carrying a signal healthy as evidenced by TV happily play all channels on the cable from the two sources

Someone knows what to do? or this wonder Qosmio F10 is a joke!

    Hi Ron

As far as I know that you use Composite in the port if you want to watch TV using Qosmio player. In this case, you can change the channel on your cable box and watch it on your Qoamio. In this case, Qosmio player should find a single channel.

Composite in the port is for video and audio signals. If you use S - VHS to it's just for video signal without the sound and I don't know if it will work properly with Qoamio player.
Please try again with Composite in the port. I am very interesting if there is some success.

  • Qosmio F10-128 with bad reception of TV in MCE

    Hello
I have a Qosmio F10-128 on the loan and have a problem with a TV tuner in Windows Media Center.
During the configuration of the computer, everything seems ok, but when I try to watch a channel of the image is very poor with many artifacts and no noise.

The strange thing is that everything is working fine with the Qosmio player.
I have tried every setting in MCE.
All connections are fine and as far as I know all the settings are correct.

I live in Belgium, then uses the PAL settings.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance,

    L.

    Hi LVG

What type of antenna is connected to your Qosmio? Is it a cable TV?

  • Qosmio G50 - FM Tuner/TV Tuner do not work together

    Hello

I search for a solution to my problem but still have not seen anywhere.
My problem is with my G50 (Aust version PQG55A-04J01Y) which has the tuner FM (Toshiba FM Tuner FM - 100 v1.1.0.48) and the TV tuner (Toshiba USB DVB-T/Analog Hibrid Tuner v 2.3.3.21) built in.

I am running Vista Home Premium (32 bit) with all the latest updates from Microsoft.
I can't get the two to work together, they function separately.
I'm not talking at the same time. I need to configure each one whenever I have swap between them.

    * To implement, I open WMC and go to:
    * "Tasks".
    * Settings.
    * "TV".
    * Set Up TV Signal.
    * Confirm my region as the Australia
    * WMC then download the latest info for my region and I can then "Select your TV Signal"
    * Here, I get to choose between 'Câble', 'Satalite' and 'antenna '.
    * I select 'Antenna' and click Next
    * I then have the chance to choose between:
    # "Analog terrestrial (PAL/SECAM)" - which activate the FM tuner
    # "Digital terrestrial television (DTT)" - which activates the TV

If I set up the TV I lose access to my FM radio and WMC tells me that I don't have a FM tuner installed.
If I set up the FM tuner I lose all my TV channels that I've saved.

Why the two could not work together? :_|

    Hello

    > Note that in the bowels of the system, there is a 32-bit program FM tuner, but also an FM tuner 64-bit, but maybe you can run a?

I think you can notice a program 32 bits and 64bitbit because of the different versions of Vista. Vista 64 bit OD needs a 64-bit driver and Vista 32 bit needs a 32-bit driver.

Back to your problem with the FM and TV tuner:
I put t have an Australian series G50, but I think the Akuma is right. Tuner FM and TV tuner is a device I think, so you can safely just sort of signals; TV or FM.

    See you soon

  • Required parameters for Qosmio F10-101

Hi, I just bought my Qosmio F10-101 & I have two questions:

1 - hard drive (60 GB) is a player, I need to divide it into 2 or more drives & keep back the preinstalled software (what are the exact steps?, I keep all the factory settings?).

    2. the models that include a television tuner weren't available when I bought my laptop, if I get the F10-101, is it possible to add a TV tuner? the performance will be ok or it will be affected because it is not built in from the beginning?
Appreciate to advise me soon (especially to question 1) to activate the startup using my laptop.

    Thank you
    Amal

You can use a program like partition magic that can partition the drive into multiple separate disks (for example C: D: etc..) It is installed in the windows operating system and he can do the job without losing existing data on your disk.

I want to install k! TV on my qosmio F10-128, but after installation, when I run the program I need ti choose between "bt8x8 tuner" or "wdm driver.

I guess because I don't have a wdm driver for my tuner. Can you tell me where I find the wdm driver? 4 ½

    Hello belong

The Qosmio laptop features a clean TV tuner. I'm sure you know how it works. The very detailed description can be found in manuals s. The feature is tested and it should work if you use a standard aerial or satellite receiver.

If you want to use other solutions like this K! TV, you're on your own because it only is not supported or tested by Toshiba. The only solution for you is to visit their support site or contact them directly and ask for help.

    Good luck!
