  • fingerprint driver has stopped working

    Hello

Some time ago I bought a HP dv6-6135dx laptop PC with Kasperky Antivirus 2011, no problem so far, until recently. I decided to uninstall the AV because the license has expired and, because of this, the fingerprint driver stopped working (I use print if... I noticed that immediately). I tried to reinstall the driver and the software goes Simple, but nothing happens... Help!

Furthermore, I will not use Kasperky AV ever.

    Hello Elverg,

I don't know if there is any problems of compatibility with Kaspersky AV and the finger print driver.

I recommend to uninstall the finger once printer driver over and install the driver from the following links below and check if this helps solve the problem:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-100228-1&CC=US&DLC=en&LC=en&os=4063&Product=5118737&sw_lang=

Also once you have the driver installed, you can go to your device manager and check if the driver and the device is properly listed.

You can try to re - register your fingerprints once more and then check if it helps solve the problem.

    Please help solve this problem.

After looking around, it seems it was not an official release for the pilot of validity, but there is a project which is still maintained, FPrint (page alt here).  Their home page has not been updated in a few years, but it seems that a new version was released about six days ago. Installation instructions are on the page.

You will need to check exactly which is the hardware ID of the RPF that you use. Here are the ones taken in charge:

    Hi again,

If your laptop is out of warranty, you can take the hard drive in the Bay of laptop and plug it as an external drive. You can do this by using a SATA cable / USB, or you could put the drive in an external enclosure /enclosure/ and after that, connect it to the PC. The backup can be done by software, but the reader must work properly. Otherwise, you will have access to it. You can try to extract the data via Linux CD/USB. Within the Ubuntu forum, you can see the steps how to make a bootable flash. Once you have downloaded the .iso file, change the boot priority on the computer where the USB port. It's done via the BIOS and change the boot priority to be the USB ports and not the HARD drive. When he starts from the PC, you must click on option try and not on the possibility of installing the operating system.

Hope I gave you an idea.

  • HP Probook 430 G1: Common validity of fingerprint driver for Windows 10

    Hello

It is a solution. You will be able to use your fingerprint across Windows Hello without any HP software reader (I have not even try to use simplepass). I'm on Windows 10.

    Thanks for posting this...

The driver works for me on a 8570p here, although I had to foce it a little...

I've upgraded an install of Windows 7 (not original) to Windows 10 and decided to try the new build-in OS support sensor. On Win7 I didn't use it because you have to installed the HP tools and it was more bloating, so I'm comfortable with... of course the problem is to get the drivers... Windows seems to have installed a driver that is over 2 years old and seems not even compatible with the OS API footprint. I'm not entirely sure if Win10 is the same as using Win7, but in any case, updating the driver did not find a newer version which is compatible with the BONES of characteristic fingerprints.

I downloaded and installed the version that lucadebe posted (link removed for error in the link). (Note that the Setup program seems to disappear all of a sudden, it's normal I think, there is no that add the driver of windows, it does not actually update the device).

I rebooted, but unlike others that wasn't enough in my case. The reason was that the shift driver does not actually list the VFS491 as a compatible sensor...

So basically, I had 2 options:

    1. use the driver (from lenovo) published by the creator of the thread that is accredited as a Win10 compatible, but do not officially support my sensor.

    2. use an old (but still relatively recent; a few months old) driver (from lenovo) that supports my sensor, but is not certified as compatible Win10. There are several versions to choose from here, although not RECOGNIZED HP...

The first driver lists the new probe of VFS495 (mine is VFS491), so I thought I could force and see if it works, rather than use a somewhat older driver (Lenovo) are not not as compatible Win10.

I went into the Device Manager and open the properties for the biometric sensor. On the driver tab, I selected "Update driver"-> "Browse local dirvers"-> "Let Me Choose from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

Then, because the new driver does not actually list my compatible sensor, I had to uncheck "Show compatible hardware".

If you use the provided HP driver it will by default have a driver selected in manufacturere "Validity Sensors, Inc.". They were acquired by Synaptics, so the new driver will be available under "Synaptics PS sensors". I installed in fact a number of more recent drivers, but one displayed above should be included amongst the "Synaptics PS (WBF) (PID = 003d) sensors '." Select it and click next to install...

After installing the new driver, open the Sign In options screen suddenly showed a header additional 'Windows Hello' with a button to add a fingerprint...

So far, works like a charm.

@PeerOne: I would like to get the driver from the HP site with the game of the right driver... IF HP has bothered actually updates driver. As is the case, the only recent drivers for the VFS491 are available through lenovo.  I installed the HP Softpaq Manager... While the application itself got an update for Win10, only "driver" always updated through it is the BIOS. Everything else is old...

I find it particularly disappointing because they are generic drivers provided by Synaptics... manufacturers have simply repackage the... but even that is too much effort, it would seem.

Also, considering windows 7 can switch itself to windows 10 in place, there will be many people who will need drivers compatible win10...

It has saddened my we rely on another manufacturer provide us drivers for HP products... Lenovo is always provide drivers for laptops that are older than mine, even drivers for newer operating systems...

Will be probably considered as when we need to replace our phones current...

What can I do now to use my fingerprint as a password?

    Akashahin,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

Comment: startup password is the gateway disturbing later - burglary for the startup password tools are easy to find, startup passwords are easy to forget, and the leading candidate to be locked in the laptop is the person who sets up the startup password.

Your computer, website: HP ProBook 450 laptop G1

Your fingerprint Sensor Driver Validity: validity V4.5.133.0 sensor Sp64338

Your HP Client Manager Security software: HP Client Security Manager V8.3.3.1786 sp65637

    • Remove / uninstall all SimplePass programs and Digital Persona that you tried to install - NONE of this is part of your laptop.    HP SimplePass is used on consumer laptops.  Your computer is a portable class business - and it uses a different set of security software.  HP Client Security Manager is the main program that includes the security suite for the ProBooks.
    • Reboot the laptop and connect

    ·         Close all your programs and shut down your computer

    ·         Unplug everything (little unifying for the keyboard / mouse external can stay)

    ·         Perform the Hard Reset for your model of laptop

    ·         Start the computer and connect

Reminder: Hard Reset is just a device to reset.  The procedure to hard reset does not erase your files or it destroys your Windows installation somehow.  It's just "clears the cobwebs".  Depending on the cause of the problem, this kind of "reset" can fix a variety of computer problems.

In the order - do not skip the reboot:

    • Download the driver and software (above)
    • Install the validity sensor driver that you downloaded
    • Reboot the laptop and connect
    • Install the HP Client Security Manager software that you downloaded
    • Reboot the laptop and connect

That's the extent of what I can tell you.  I do not use this software on my consumer notebooks I can't find a user updated for your program guide.  I think that once installed, you should see a HP Client Manager icon on the desktop or in the taskbar - used to start the program and enroll your fingerprints.
