• Impossible to install 10 Windows via BootCamp on iMac 5K with Fusion Drive

  I tried to install Windows 10 Professional via Boot Camp on my iMac 5K end of 2015 (version OS X 10.11) with a disc of the Fusion 2 to for about a week now.   Following my original post, I made some progress, at least with my Contacts/address book and diary respondent/iCal.   Other sites said save the entire Palm as a vCard file addressbook.  It did not work because whenever I tried to save the Palm Desktop crashed and the file saved no content!    But I perservered and I could highlight a handful (up to about 75 names at a time) in the addresses of Palm Desktop and drag them to the desktop Mac, where they recorded as individual vCard.  These can all then be slipped into the Mac address book in the dock.  Then when I synced the iPhone with the Mac, they were inserted there.  A lot of time but it was beter than returning all the files one at a time!   The necessary data from cleaning each address book, but may have partly because I had always put the right numbers in the correct boxes (IE mobile home, etc.).

  Other sites, including the Apple Forums, said that a similar solution might work for data vCal in the Palm log; That is, save the diarydata as a vCal file, then imort this file in the program iCal, this sort of worked but needs a lot of storage once it was in the iCal.

• Time Capsule do not write back ups.

  I have a continuous problem with Time Capsule, writing of backups.  After having no problems for a couple of years, TC is now fails to write backup every 3-4 weeks and I found no cause or a solution to the problem.

  TC shows well in the finder, the sparsebundles are there.  Time Machine creates the sparsebundles as usual and will make backups normally for about 3 or 4 weeks.  The error message is displayed "Backup failed" and said that Time Machine is unable to write to the file.  At this time there the existing backup is lost, I have found no way to recover.   I wiped the hard drive via Airport utility, recreated the backup only to fail again in 3 to 4 weeks.

  I've set up another 3 TB HD connected to the iMac USB and have TM write backups on it without problem while the HD TC continues to fail.

  My setup is pretty simple.  iMac connected to TC via ethernet, MBP connected via ethernet.  iMac backup to internal 2 TB on TC's MBP backup 1 TB external connected to the USB TC.

  Apple support suggested that the problem is a bad ethernet cable.  I tried to replace the ethernet cable, no change.  Turn off ethernet using wifi, no change.

  It is not a problem of space, on both drives only half of the available space is used.

  We have reproduced this crash on our end. most likely, it is related to the MBP / Imac integrated graphics Intel Iris. We are currently investigating this issue and try to provide a fix soon.

  -SpeedGrade open (without sending a PR project)

  -Create a new project

  -Open settings (S) and then "read".

  -Select 'Software only' under 'Mercury playback engine.

  -Close in SpeedGrade

  EDIT: actually sync problems seems to occur exclusively on the side of the iOS. This also includes the iPad. Fortunately, I didn't have the great idea to disable the synchronization of Notes in iCloud on my iPad, as I did on the iPhone.

  I have problems to download what looks like a great update through "Apple Software Update", in the Windows 10. The name of the specific update is "updated Apple Boot Camp, Version 6.0, size 265,99 MB"

  OK - I know this ground was picked up, but I used every fix recommended here & come again empty-handed. Here's the deal: I have two Macs: a Mac Pro (Basic) and an iMac (remotely). Mac Pro running OS X.5; iMac runs OS X.6 (Snow Leopard). Cable ADSL from the wall to the router (Belkin pre - N); cable router on Mac Pro; HP 960C and JO 6500 has connected to the Mac Pro via USB connections separate. HP 960C and JO 6500 well work w / Mac Pro (by cable). HP 960C has worked (via radio) w / iMac up to what I've updated to Snow Leopard - no surprise b/c HP 960C does not (and will not) Snow Leopard driver. Wireless connectivity for iMac is fine except for OJ 6500 a. I tried everything - washing & re - install the software from the Apple website. Connection via IP address instead of the standard method (automatic); After installation by using the IP address, I get: "(IP address) is currently unavailable." Please check if it is turned on & connected or try again later. "or"home network is busy. I try to send a print job - it goes to the 6500 but 93% finished and then permanently suspended. Printer icon bounce on star red w Dock & number '1' on this issue. In the list of printers, 6500 has a Red House, rather than a green.

  OK - I found the answer on the Apple site & boy is simple: (1) remove the printer since the two machines, (2) drivers turn off 'sharing' on the host machine, (3) install the drivers on the host, (4) install the drivers on the remote computer, (5) turn on printer sharing.   I can't believe I'm still having the same problem after a water landing forced my MBP mid-2012 and invest a lot of money in the new iMac. Now I'm sure this is the problem of the El Capitan, not the hardware. Especially after the last update of the system.

  I wonder about these extensions Safari and internet plug-ins.

  Safari, as all browsers, I fear, is a memory hog.

  As a temporary solution, simply exit and restart Safari can mitigate the problem.

• Cannot install windows via bootcamp (Imac Mid 2011)

  Hi, I struggled for the last 2 days and can't seem to find how to create a windows partition and installed it.

  Note: I have a 27 inch mid 2011 Imac and run MacOS Sierra 10.12.

  I have problems with bootcamp especially at the stage of the process USB drive.

  1. I do not understand why Bootcamp assistant 2 display only tasks being #1 download the windows software and #2 install windows 10 when all apple support pages show 3 different tasks available as here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205016http ://

  

  2. I prefer to install windows 7 on my partition, bootcamp, however 'install windows 10', which means that I can't install an older version on my partition? I tried to install windows 7 via a win7 .iso file AND a win10 .iso but none of them works.

  3. whenever I try to install windows, the system do not recognize my USB (it would be with .iso win10 associated drivers or Win7 .iso. + drivers associated) and constantly asking for a disc to be inserted.

  

  My USB has been formatted through disk as MS-DOS (FAT32) volume and all utility used .iso comes from Microsoft. I don't understand why I can't have my. ISO recognized by the system.

  This is normal and expected behavior. Your 2011 Mac does not support the USB Windows installation. You must use a physical DVD burned ISO. Your Mac does not officially support Windows 10. The ISO files are available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home .

  Documentation on Apple's site shows not all models. Please visit https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/mac/5.0/help/ for an older version (FC5).
