Factory defects R710s

Hi, I got the task to reset a number of R710s,.

which is the best way to erasing\resetting all the user settings\data on them, I removed the readers and disinfected them with a data wiping program, but what about servers?

I went into the bios and used the stop scroll, NumLock, CapsLock and keys ALT combos that are supposed to reset the NVRAM and restore the default settings.

But what about resetting the LC and iDrac to the factory settings, which will remove all credentials iDRAC user and IP addresses also configuration settings it would remove all lifecycle logs that contain the history of all change events, firmware update and comments from users.

would you advise to reset of the LC and iDRac and if I do it won't have problem when servers are used by someone else?

Thanks for the tips...

Jon.

john_jones7

What advise you to remove any info from company, as asset info, domain etc.

clear memory nvram and reset the iDRAC in the default bios menu or?

Clearing NVRAM via jumper will reset the BIOS TO default system and remove information from there. It has no effect on iDRAC. IDRAC resetting to default values should remove all information from the iDRAC come to be listed. If you're going to be when you run the LCwipe then that should be all you need to do to clear the information from the iDRAC. Which should remove all newspapers and all the information that would clear a reset to the default values.

Thank you

  • When I reset my vista 64 bits to factory settings it converted NTFS partition

Now it crashes and it loads 32 system files. How can I restore it is 64-bit and the other file system again. Pls help. He says that my computer is in perfect health and keeps crashing several times per hour. I am disabled and it is my only means of communication. How to install the right files or partition for the discs I have? Thank you very much.

Your understanding of what is in System32 and the operating system to 64-bit uses/does not sounding false use.  You did not have enough features to say much more about that.

You have two hearts, not two processors.  The main difference between multiple cores and multiple physical processors, despite having the same treatment capacity, is the fact that multiple cores can be inserted in a single dose and multiple cores share some CPU as memory Cache & Bus Interface. With the multi-core processors, sysytems can save a lot of space and increase performance.

Why NTFS is a problem?  This is a file system that allows more security and individual more large file (and together) sizes.  It's just a FAT32, EXT3 file system, etc.  It is NATIVE to Windows Vista file system.  Installing Windows Vista on one file system other than NTFS (such as FAT32) is not something normal and not easy to accomplish, actually pretty involved.  Actually - I think it's the case, all around, of you think you got something when you do not have and do not understand the reality of all this.

    • Your installation of Windows Vista * is * more than likely installed on an NTFS (the road at least system) partition.  The NTFS debate has little or nothing to do with your 64-bit system discussion.  The file system on the disk and the operating system - well, they'll talk each other despite the architecture of the operating system.
    • You will use the 32-bit and 64-bit files when you use a 64-bit operating system.  In fact - most of the things likely to * you * will install on it right now * are * 32-bit.
    • You have a * single * processor with two cores.  Not two processors (which would be, in todays systems in any case, probably mean you'd have between 4 to 8 hearts).  The number of cores/processors you have nothing (really) has to do with the architecture of your operating system.
    • F11 - is it an HP system?  Are you saying that you use restore their (HP) of the system to the factory defects it installs the 32-bit version of Windows Vista instead of the 64-bit version?  Or are you assumptions and jumping to conclusions based on things, you may not understand fully (the system files on the drive, the folder "system32", the fact that 64-bit operating systems use 32-bit file almost as much (maybe more) than they do those of 64 - bit, etc.?)

    What you trying to do?

If the system hangs permanently after a destructive reset - it is probably a hardware problem.  In all cases, contact HP (if my guess based on what you have given so far is correct).  They are your first line of support for this system. They will tell you what you need to do in order to really restore default values and where you get the latest drivers for hardware device for the hardware of the machine, etc..

Welcome to the HP support community! I see that you have some problems with your desire to 4. Try to install your driver high definition Audio Intelas it should be the graphics card that manages the basic functions. I'd also sure that your Catalyst Control Center is only the Setup for your high performance games and programs. This HP document will show you how do it.

By system restore you did take back you to factory defects as in a collection or just go to a previous restore point? If you have a full recovery to factory settings then it seems like it might be a hardware problem with the keys / TouchPad if they start working again.

Help, please! I tried to pull my table of media 12 to and replaced by a white 500 GB drive so the data is safe. I tried to do a reinstall of the OS and a factory defect. • eRecovery Management does not complete

Hi all, I'm having a problem with my Acer Aspire 5610Z.  Here's where I started:

I got this second hand in a few months.  It worked well until recently, when it has started turning off within a few minutes of operation.

He's going to stay longer if I don't have to do anything (so useful!), but open any web browser, or even Windows Update stops.

It is not power, but to change to another cord (reliable and functional), makes no difference (the battery is turned on this laptop however).

I have run CCleaner, SpyBot S & D, MalwareBytes, Zemana and HitMan Pro - they found a thing or two, but there is nothing to prevent the issue.

I have updated all drivers using Driver 3 Booster.

I restored to an earlier date than the question, but that did not help either.

It is not hot, it is a few minutes of power.

The kicker - it will stay indefinitely in Mode safe, but as soon as I boot normally, it goes back to extinguish.

I have about 50% of free disk space.

Pressing F10 just starting gives me this, with no way to do something that I see:

Edit Windows boot options for: Microsoft Windows Vista
    Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
    Score: 2
    Hard drive: 298fa959
    [/ NOEXECUTE = OPTIN]

I don't have any OS disk for it, as I got it second hand, and the key is OEM.  I don't have anything on the computer I would mind lost, other than the OS itself.

Somebody advised I have try the eRecovery Management restore factory settings.  I tried and it stops and restarts, but I never notice that is supposed to appear in step 7 here:

To start your system restore follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Start menu, and then click all programs.
    2. In the list of programs, click the Acer file, and then click the Acer eRecovery Management .
    3. User account control Windows may request your permission to run this program, click Yes.
    4. In the Acer eRecovery Management window left click restore, and then click restore completely the system to the factory defects.
    5. On the Confirmation screen, select Yes , and then click Start
    6. Finally click OK to confirm the restore, then your computer will restart.
    7. Once the computer has been restarted, click Next if you accept the view on your screen.
Note: The notice is to inform you that all your data will be erased. If you have not saved your data click on Cancel.
    8. Then you get a confirmation screen. Click Next, and then click OK to start the recovery process.
    9. Recovery can take some time to complete. You will get a confirmation screen when it's over.
    10. Click OK to restart your computer.

My another fight is that he keeps cutting Middle process on things that cannot be done in safe mode - it took me a few weeks to get to this point.

Thanks for reading all this - any suggestions?

I have some other ideas for the moment, seems that your recovery is corrupted somehow.

  • eRecovery Management

Hello. I found a lot of articles on the problems with the eRecovery Management tool but still couldn't find an answer to my problem.

When I bought Acer Aspire REVO 3 4 years ago, I made sure to create the recovery DVD, because I knew that I was going to wipe the drives and install Windows XP instead (they came pre-loaded with VISTA). Now, these computers are outdated and should be sent to the resale. Well, I've erased readers, connected to an external DVD drive and booted from the first recovery disk.

When the eRecovery Management screen appears, I wonder "Select the Type of restoration".

-> Completely restore the system to the factory defects > Greyed out, can not select it
-> Operating system restore and retain user data > Greyed out, it can not select

-> Output > the only option that I can click on.

Why am I not able to click on 'Completely restore the system to factory settings', it's absurd. I spent hours searching on this forum on Google in general and it seems that a few people did experience, but no one can provide an answer solid as to what the problem is, with the EXCEPTION, that the recovery disks may be damaged or the hard disk needs to be formatted, or must be free of the partition.

I did an erasure of the hard drive, without any partition. No difference.

I formatted the hard drive. No difference.

To test the theory of corrupted recovery disks (even if the first disc starts very well), I used my main desktop computer and did the following:

    1. Creates an ISO image of the two (Recovery1.iso and Recovery2.iso) recovery disks.
    2. I used VirtualBox, created a new virtual Image, changed the settings to start from Recovery1.iso
    3. The virtual machine starts at the eRecovery Management screen, and all options are available.
    4. I was even able to "Completely restore system to Factory Defaults" on the virtual machine.

Then of course, the restoration of that DVD is not damaged. So, what's the problem with the Acer Aspire REVO can't select 'Completely restore system to Factory Defaults'?

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I disabled the AHCI in the BIOS, no difference.

I took the hard drive from the computer, inserted in a Dell Latitude laptop, started from the first recovery disk. I was then able to choose the first option, "completely restore system to Factory Defaults". Once the restore is complete, I put off the computer laptop, removed the drive and put it back in the REVO Aspire 3600. AHCI must be enabled in the BIOS. The initial setup routine, out-of-the-box Vista started fine and original applications and drivers have been installed.

Amazing to see that there is no material check that eRecovery, but it's a good thing, otherwise I couldn't start from a Dell laptop to do the restore. Fankly, person should spend that much trouble. Most of the people do not have the skills or know-how to understand all this. Unfortunately, those who are stuck with an Acer computer that cannot be recovered.

  • Router WRT120N - EE disconnect once per hour

    Hello
Just Yestarday (16.02.2010) I bought router WRT120N-EE. I had problems with disconnection from the beginning.
I got the cable modem. I connected wrt120n modem, following the 2 PC viaethernet ports connected to the router. I am beeing cut exactly almost hourly. It happens on two PCs at the same time. Router is always reconnect after that and everything works fine until the next hour or two. I have to admit that this router is trying to reconnect two times. First attempt is always unsuccessful. Everything takes about 2 seconds (his reaction as to during the registration of the changes in utility browser, or reset, beds off).

    • I have not upgraded to the latest firmware due to other problems of people with 1.0.0.4 version (mine is default 1.0.01).
    • Currently I have not all wireless devices so I turned off WiFi (if connection son makes these difficulties whats going to be with wireless...:/).
    • Without beeing plugged my modem router and everything works fine.
    • IM using Norton 360 and running under Windows XP SP3 (with the help of Windows Firewall and the firewall of the router also), but I don't think that's the problem.
    • I have not changed MTU (it has the default value, do not think that is more the problem).
    • I already have a power Cycle.
    • Im not not via PPPoE (Keep-alive), but the server DHCP - automatic configuration.
    • NAT is enabled, MAC clone, etc...
    • Ive tried to enable or disable UPnP and other options as a couple, but nothing seems to work.

It's my second Linksys router. With first a WRT54GL, there never any problem (same PC, same setup, same supplier). It works almost 2.5 years now without a single reset...
    Help, please

Ok. It seems that this router is working properly after restore factory defects, reconfiguration with utility based on a browser and power cycling. I think he got in some kind of a loop, after that I changed the term of the Client lease for 1 hour. This time ive customized only strictly necessary parameters for my ethernet network. I hope that so ill start doing something more complicated than the MAC address cloning, it will not 'crazy' again.

Also, I have to test it on wireless over the next week... Thanks for the replies. If something goes wrong ill post it here.

Hey harry74 - if the phone within 1 month, it actually takes.  What I've read, the occasional phone has a problem with the keys not being not not very attached, and this is not the first time I heard about what's going on.  As a tip, I always use the Pocket sleeve and have never had problems - even though most of the people.  Even without a guarantee extended, since you are in the first 30 days, you should have no problem exchanging (and even if it was on, the phone is guaranteed for one year against factory defects (defective keys are a factory default)).

I have a Bold 9000 with OS 4.6.0.303. I got it for 6 months and no problems so far. I have a Belkin wifi router at home that my BB to connect whenever I'm at home. However, since last week, it does not connect to my router. Nothing has changed in one of the configurations. I tried to delete this specific wifi profile from the BB and then add it back, and when I do, it says that it cannot obtain an IP address.

My fiance has a curve 8900 and have no problem, it will always connect to the router with no problems. My "BOLD" connects without a problem on my device mobile wifi, and connected it to a restaurant without problem wifi hotspot.

What can be the problem between my 9000 and my Belkin router.

    Thank you

    J

I managed to solve the problem, I tried all the power cycling tips with no luck, so I restored the router to all factory defects and set up again. And hey presto, it worked.
