Failure of the BIOS Lenovo M90

Hello.

I would like to know is there a method to recover the BIOS of Lenovo M90 5474?

As for the AMIBOOT will. ROM method with CTRL + HOME runs on this Machine?

Or is the a recovery method of block startup that don't need to unscew the machine?

We hope to get an answer as soon as POSSIBLE.

Thank you.

guyz92, welcome to the forum,

There is a method to boot block recovery, please see the hardware maintenance manual which can be downloaded by clicking here.

My laptop model number is Pavilion dv6t 7000. In recent days, he had a problem. When I turned off my laptop and put it off, the next day I find that is not starting. A black screen, caps lock shift is blicking twice and f12 key is red (WIFI). Nothigs happen. Then, I searched and came to know that it is the failure of the bios. Then I tried some way and nothings worked. ATLAST when I remove the cmos battery it set again after 2 or 1 minute its starts fine. Then againg I turn off the computer and its power day following again the same problem. I was to solve this problem by removing cmos battery and put it again for 4 or 5 days. I tried so many method like (Windows key + B), (byholding down the power button for 1 minute), (Flash UEFI) etc. to solve the problem of failure of the bios, nothing worked at all. • Update the BIOS Lenovo G505s

    Hi all!

I have really big problems with my laptop Lenovo G505s.

    (A8 - 4500M, 4 GB ram, 7640 G + 8570 M, windows 7 Professional)

I have about 20 to 25 frames per second in every game when my charger is plugged.

When I plug it on, I get around 80-90 FPS boost.

I did research in many forum and allowed for some people that they have updated the BIOS.

I tried to update the BIOS, I found it (v3.0), but for Windows 8 and 8.1.

Is it compatible with Windows 7?

Can I do the damage in my laptop if I install who?

    Help, please!

Already installed, works very well with Windows 7.

All FPS problems seems to be missing.

  • Failure of the BIOS - Satellite Pro P200 - 16 c

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop Satellite Pro P200 today. I then tried flashing the BIOS through windows with program Flash BIOS on Toshiba driver download page. I used the program flash for Vista because none is available for Windows 7. The program started and took a backup of my old version of BIOS and then Flash the BIOS. Then after a while an error occurred saying that this operating system was not supported.

Alright. I restarted the computer and he was going to access the BIOS to see if the new version was done to install or not. But I can't access the BIOS now since the TI of suddenly password protected. I tried Google known standard Phoenix BIOS passwords, but they do not work. Now I've mistyped the password if often the computer won't let me even start without entering a correct password.

How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?

    Help, please...

    Hello

You used not compatible BIOS and it seems that module ROM BIOS was not flashed properly.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to do but to contact the ASP of Toshiba in your country,
Guys could remove the password and can reflash the BIOS using a traditional disk BIOS version and the crisis.

    > How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?
No, remove the CMOS battery would not help because as far as I know that the CMOS battery is not removable on laptops just ASP can clear the BIOS password.

  • HP PAVILION 1015TX M6: failure of the BIOS update F.26 F.27

My machine was originally Windows 7 Home Premium, and then when Windows 8 came out, I bought a license for Pro 8.1. Updated the FW since then to F.26A and no problems at all.

Now Windows 10 was released, updated for the new OS, put an SSD to give more subsidy, adding memory and 16 GB is now running on a Micron 256SSD.

Recently, Windows 1607 came out, I got the update and noticed that my internal webcam does not work. I thought about updating everything I can find and saw a new firmware version F.27. Downloaded, run the executable file, looks very promising and then restart that he arrested! If there was a way to do it using a USB via Windows executable, I can do it but it's too late.

Can you please help me restore / recover my BIOS of laptop computers? Now if I turn on my laptop, the screen is blank and I cannot see that the WiFi led is lit in orange. I tried windows + B key too and if I do that I can see the caps lock flashes two times goes off, Wifi led remains lit in orange, then after a few seconds caps lock flashes again. I am so desperate to fix this again and I don't want to throw it.

Can someone in the HP please help or anyone who has the experience to restore / recover my BIOS?

I downloaded sp77669.exe and sp66782.exe, followed steps http://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c02693833 but it does not give me the next step to extract it on USB, it just runs and tries to attempt to run the executable insyde. Of course it will fail because I use a HP device just for this previous bios on a USB key. Step in here is misleading in some way, because I don't get the option to create the usb bios recovery. I tried to use 7zip to open the executable file and I can find all the files Roma or bin inside.

    I fixed it now! hoooooray!

Here are the steps so I did... and then summarize

    (1) removed the CMOS battery for a day (24 h), battery not attached either.

    2A) set the CMOS battery

2 (b) connected AC, you press the Windows key + B, then held the power button for 3-4 seconds and then release

    (3) did not work

    (4) tried again, repeated step 2, still nothing

I went desperate... you need a HP HDD to another machine that still have the recovery partition.

    (5) power removed, removed my SSD drive temporarily took my netbook HP HARD drive and put it on my computer pavilion laptop of m6.

    (6) repeat step 2

    (7) not working, lock shift always blink and light up orange Wifi signal

    (8) turned off, which held the power button for 30secs or more

    (9) repeated a step 2 again and viola, the LCD turns on again, then I got an invalid checksum error CMOS and says it will reset the bios Setup with its previous version and I saw it from 0 to 100%. I don't have what it does in time so I let him finish and it restarts and started access my OS HARD drive, of course I don't want to start from it, so I just shot it extinguished/turned on and tested so it will try to start now and he did.

    (10) off, place my SSD back and restarted

    (11) happy again...

Just so to be sure it it will always start upward and to confirm what version of bios, ive got, I stopped him again.

Check the bIOS version and I got the latest bios version f.27 LMAO! This thing happened to step 9 0-100% must be a continuation of the update stopped. It didn't reset it instead it just finished off the coast of the update. isn't that great! Perhaps maybe this a defect on the update of hp in the process. (With 1) win10 OS and 2) an SSD is maybe a problem with the update process if you do the OS, I'm just speculating. The operating system that is supported on the site isn't until Win8, although technically, they are the same win8 family and 10 but who knows. I suggest if you got the same setup as mine, do the update regardless of the OS, start from a USB Pendrive and up-to-date in this way if you'll be lucky to find a bootable version.

  • Failure of the BIOS. Not able to restore

    Hello the HP support team,

My friend's computer BIOS seems to be dead. When I turn on the CapsLock flashing for 2 times and nothing happens on my screen. I tried to remove the battery and the power cable for a few minutes, but nothing has changed. I also removed the CMOS battery and replaced it's RAM, but still had the same problem.

I looked for solutions on everywhere and most of the time I finally get stuck on this page. The combination of WIN + B seems to have no effect, which makes sense because I'm pretty sure that they have deleted the partition HP_TOOLS.

Here is where I need your help. In the above mentioned page, he said that "that a USB key with a HP_TOOLS volume can be used as an alternative. I really searched everywhere, but I can't find how to create this USB key. Also, I do not know where to find one extracted BIOS version so that I could restore from that. The only BIOS I get from the driver page is a ".exe" to run on this computer, which is impossible.

One last thing to mention is that I downloaded the "sp61632" which gives me "HP Support UEFI environment Setup". When I try to install it on 'USB Flash Drive', it gives me an error, but finally I installed it locally on my computer and then transfer files on a USB key.

I renamed this player to 'HP_TOOLS', and only files in there are "Hewlett-Packard" > "SystemDiags" and there are 8 elements:

    • CryptRSA.efi
    • CryptRSA32.efi
    • SystemDiags.efi
    • SystemDiags32.efi
    • SystemDiags.s09
    • SystemDiags.sig
    • SystemDiags32.s09
    • SystemDiags32.sig

Just mention, cause the total size is 2.5 MB and I do not see if thishas anything to do with the BIOS to restore.

    So, to summarize, I need:

    1. BIOS recovery files
    2. a way to create the USB stick with HP_TOOLS
    3. Another idea or suggestion would be welcome

    Tried, but did not work:

    1. Restart
    2. Remove the HARD drive
    3. remove the CMOS battery
    4. replace the Rams
    5. Combination of WIN + B
    6. Combination of WIN + B, with the mentioned flash above connected drive

The computer is: HP Pavilion DV6-2117 ev (page pilot is here)

    Serial number: (Personal information)

    Product number: WB331EA #B1A

Operating system: Probably of Windows 7 (I do not think that this has a significance right now)

Sorry for the long post, tried to be as detailed as possible.

Thanks in advance for your support.

If the following procedure does not then your choice is:

Ask HP to replace the BIOS chip. have a third party company BIOS replace the chip or replace the notebook after the recovery of data from the hard drive.

  • Satellite M100 - update the BIOS didn't

    Hey people,

during BIOS update my laptop freezes, so need to reflash it.
put into service in crisis recovery mode, it's ONE LONG and TWO SHORT SIGNALS.

    WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

    Hey Buddy,

If failure of the BIOS update, you can expect anything to contact an authorized service provider and ask for help. I assumed that the ROM module must be reflashed and this can be done with special tools if you need professional help.

In your case I wouldn t try these BIOS recovery tools, you could destroy the entire module ROM.

So, get in touch with your ASP local and ask for help. I'm sure the guys can help you. :)

  • Y50-70: can not enter the BIOS over and cannot find a second hdmi monitor that I have already

First problem is that I tried after a while to get into the BIOS (have the latest version of the BIOS lenovo offers) and could not get with any of the known keys. Delete and F2 go to the windows start menu, F8 goes in the hard disk boot menu and F12 in menu advanced windows (safe mode, repair etc.). I could have mixed with key who does what, but ultimately none of them goes into the BIOS.

Second problem, to my father's office it is a hdmi LCD TV that I previously used as a second monitor from the laptop. But I haven't used for awhile and now it no longer recognizes. I have the latest drivers Intel and Nvidia. When I press on detect in the menu of the screen resolution I have two small gray monitors (screens not detected, one for each graphics chip).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

I finally found a way in the BIOS.

    Log on to Windows

    Bring up the Menu

    Select "Power".

Hold down the SHIFT key and select "stop".

Now press the Novo button (next to power button)

This will bring you a Menu that has "BIOS Setup" in there.

Would be easier if the F2 key could be implemented again well.

  • Add the entry to the Bios boot

I'm looking to restore the boot entry uefi but having problems to find in the bios

    https://www.Thomas-Krenn.com/en/wiki/Restoring_UEFI_boot_entry_via_motherboard_replacement_or_BIOS_u...

No idea how to do this on a Thinkpad P50?

The Bios Lenovo does not allow you to add a boot entry. This is necessary if you restore a hard drive using imaging software, without it, you are unable to start the system restore.

    Edit: included more details

The imaging program that I use is dd on linux. The dd command not the installer boot uefi entries.

I run currently 3 separate BONES on 3 discs (the joy of owning a P50). I managed to find a way to add entries of uefi boot in Windows. The program EasyUEFI (http://www.easyuefi.com/) works perfectly.

  • Update the bios EliteBook 8560 p: 8560p

I am in the process of upgrading to win10, win7 64 bit.  I cloned my HD and installed the upgrade on the clone, reserving the original HD back to win7 if I choose.

I'm about to upgrade my bios of 68SCF version using the version 4.100.1189 F.20 sp72496.exe package.

It is said that the update cannot be reversed.  Which would prevent me from using the old HD with win 7 pro 64 bit?

Or it will still work if I change setting back UEFI?

I also have the sp52509.exe package which is the same version 4.100.1189.  It is 1.14 mb in size while the other is 21.7 mb.

The update method, is the only difference?  No functional difference when completed?

    Thank you for your consideration.

That advice generic for updating BIOS assumes that there is a new version of BIOS for Win10 - and in the case of your PC, this is not the case.

I advise the people intend to do a BIOS update is NOT updated unless the following TWO are met:

    (1) you have a way to save on the current BIOS to work on media that you can restore it later, if necessary

    (2) you have a way to boot the machine, in the event of failure of the BIOS and restore from the saved copy.

If none of the two is not true, an update of the BIOS run the risk of turning your PC into a 'power brick' - which means, it will become a useless paperweight.

Various updates of BIOS for different versions of the OS are released because, in the case of OEM machines, different versions may have different hardware.  Thus, flashing a Win7 with a BIOS of Win8 update machine COULD trash!  That is why - the statements above, I did.

That said, the update of the BIOS should not affect your ability to restore the machine to Win7 and run it.

    Good luck

  • HP compaq 6510 b does not start after the BIOS update

This means that this would require the replacement of the BIOS chip to make it work again.

  • Dead laptop after the BIOS update. How can I restore original BIOS?

    Model: HP Pavilion m7-1015dx

    Original OS: Windows 7

Current operating system: 64-bit Windows 8

    Problem:

I tried to update the BIOS by using this file:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-124651-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en...

    Release: 2013-10-08
    File name: sp63801.exe [1/1, 6.56 M]
    Version F.29

He gave me a Blue Screen of Death and the computer restarted. After the restart I only get a black screen, the fan comes on but there is no text and no way to access the BIOS, or the start menu.

The led caps lock starts to blink twice, then stops for 1 ~ second then blinks twice again and again, indefinitely. This, according to HP, suggests a failure of the BIOS Corruption.

    What I tried:

I do not have the HP recovery partition, so I tried to install the two update of UEFI BIOS HP SoftPAQ and HP UEFI support SoftPAQ environment on a FAT32 USB key named HP_TOOLS. I tried these tools separately, at the same time. I tried them with 3 different bios downloaded from this site. I hold the button windows and B, then turn on the computer. Nothing happens. I tried Fn and B, holding them for different periods, there are no beeps, no text on the screen, nothing. The led on the USB key blinks ten times at the beginning and then stops, then starts flashing caps lock. I tried to put the .bin file in different folders in the USB port, including the root, same result. No.SIG file is in the bios I downloaded.

I am on mobile, excuse the errors. What Miss me?

The message here by 'jayvastani' seems to work for many. The only thing different from his post a year ago would be to skip step 4. The rest should be all you need. Good luck!

  • Resulting in a failure to update BIOS?

I read I need to update my X 51 bios A03 of R1 to the A14 to use my EVGA GTX 750.

I'm scared of bricking my motherboard.

What causes failure of the BIOS update?

People reported on the windows version of freezing and stuff.

    Can someone explain me?

    Thank you.

Normally its best to take the least number of steps but unfortunately some of the newer systems require old BIOS updates to be installed first. When you start the update of the BIOS, it will tell you if its support or if you have another version first.

If it freezes just let lead as its probably something in the background.

You are reading through some older information, much preferred to update via a floppy disk in the BIOS in the past that I would say is more risky. The BIOS updates are a bit better these days and its more hard to install the BIOS update out Windows for most of the systems. If you have the new installation, you should be fine.
