Failure to display the Satellite L300

Hi all out there in computer land.

I've had a L300 for awhile now and its been a great machine, however the other day I swiched it on and he now lines on the screen at various points. Some lines don't start at one end and do not complete on board. It looks like his "bleeding" at different times.

It seems that the display is faulty. I want to emphasize that my laptop doesn't move from its place of use (on a table) and the display is left open and nobody could have come in contact with it. I know it has not been damaged _. _

I've posted just a white screen (video cable disconnected) and the problem is still there.

Thanks for your help in anticipation.

Hello Fred

My advice to this question is simple: contact the nearest Toshiba, authorized service provider to check your laptop. It must be new notebook with valid warranty.
So don't waste your time and let them repair your laptop.

I tried to increase the brightness, but it doesn't seem to work.

    Hello

You mean you cannot increase the screen brightness by pressing FN + F7?

Well, I think that the FL inverter is faulty.

If the FL inverter starts to malfunction so everything on the screen will appear like behind a thick fog.

  • Question about the Satellite L300 to TV connection

Hi everyone, first of all this is my first post.

Also I'm a bit geek o when it comes to computers etc., I can use one but im not a wizz tech kid as well as use of base of an im afraid.

    I have a Satellite L300 laptop.

My question is, my laptop has no HDMI port, but it has a VGA port.
I have a digital TV with many ports Inc. USB, VGA, HDMI etc.

I am downloading movies and burn them on dvd, but it's very tedious, so I wonder if I connect the laptop to the tv to use the TV as a monitor screen? so, I can either watch the dvd on the tv, and gold to direct flows to the laptop and then on television.

I connected a vga cable for the necessary ports between the TV and the pc, and although television confirms that a pc is connected, there is only a white screen? so I guess I can't connect in this way.

It is not possible to connect using the usb ports? or of other ideas like if I may or may not connect to this laptop?

    Kind regards

    Bob

    Hi Bob

What laptop has no HDMI port this is a bit complicated. In General, you should be able to use your TV as external monitor. When you connect your laptop with VGA cable to your TV and turn on this port to the TV use the FN + F5 key combination and desktop to TV switch.

If your TV is correctly detected when you use FN + F5, you should see several options. Problem is that the VGA connection is for video only and you will not hear on your TV. You can transfer the sound, but you must separate the wires and connect the headphone jack of your laptop and openings of his TV or even receiver Hi-Fi if you a.

    It's a little complicated.

    Hello

Hmm. I m wondering if you checked a few discussions here on the same theme.
    Did you?
There are more that enough son and I m sure you will not need to create this thread after reading some reviews.

Just a tip; the use of HARD drive recovery option will format the system partition, but the D partition (where the HARD drive recovery files are placed) wouldn't be formatted!

  • Upgrade memory on the Satellite L300 problem

My laptop is a Satellite L300 PSLB8A 047004. I bought a kit of 2 x 2 GB modules and inserted carefully following the instructions (they clicked in place). When the computer reboots, the power light comes on, the fan was on but no other activity and the screen stayed black, no drive activity. Initially, there was 1-off 1 GB PC2 - 6400S installed module, and I checked the news is PC2 - 6400S. I took and put back in but same result. When I put the original module in it worked fine.

Then I tried one of the new modules instead of lucky one but not original so the original module is now back in and everything seems OK.
Any suggestions please? If there is damage of module to be managed, then the original 1 GB module should also be damaged, because this is one that s been managed at best.

    KeV.

This is a typical behavior of compatibility issues. The modules you have, I mean who is the manufacturer?

I recommend you to use high quality of Kingston or Toshiba products. For more information about compatible modules for your laptop computer, visit http://www.kingston.com/worldwide/default.asp

If you are installing an operating system for example the version of Vista 64 bit you want to, you can install a tool of information material such as Everest or PC Wizard 2008. With these tools, you can see all the hardware components you have in Notepad.

But I have a Satellite L300-1F9 too and it has the following equipment:
    Intel Pentium T4200
    Intel GL40 Chipset Mobile

  • Upgrade memory on the Satellite L300

I bought a L300 satellite in August 08 in Australia. It came with a single module of memory 1 GB which is now inadequate.
I got 2 x 2 GB modules but cannot make it work with the two climbs. Reports of the mounted but 4 GB Vista BIOS restarts the first time then blue screens. Ubuntu Linux crashes after loading of HAL.

If only one module mounted it works OK and it does not matter which module is used.

Any info on this would be most appreciated.

There is not some special info that you can get here.
With RAM upgrade is important to use the 100% compatible modules and also the high quality products of Toshiba or Kingston.

Many people have reported on the same problems using certain products without name at low cost.
2 GB compatible RAM has PA3513U-1M2G part number.

  • Correct the Satellite L300 (drivers Win7) installation sequence

    * System: *.
    Toshiba Satellite L-300-1AY
    Model #: PSLB8E
    SN: Y8099024Q
Currently using Win - Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2

-J' got a retail version of Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium
-J' downloaded from the Toshiba site all the new SW (drivers, etc) for Windows-7-32
    -I'll do a 'clean' for Win - 7 install

    * Question # 1
After that the installation of Win - 7 is completed, which is precisely the correct sequence to install the drivers and the other SW from Toshiba?

    * Question # 2
Is that install sequence somewhere mediated by Toshiba?
If this is not the case, how do you know what is the correct order?

    * Question # 3.*
I found the tsi4win7.exe program on the site
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/downloadDetail.jsp?PF=true&soID=2475695
The name is Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7.
-Is anyone who has used this particular facility?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Answer 1:

Order of installation is as follows:
    Windows Win7
    Intel Chipset utility
Intel Robson package (Intel iMSM driver) Intel Turbo Memory
    Intel Cantiga-GM / UMA Version
    Display driver
    Audio driver
Giga bit LAN Driver Realtek RTL8102E-GR 10/100

Please install it and check the functionality. If there's something on the list you can install more but I think that it is not necessary. Post comments after clean operating system installation.

    Answer 2:
No it is not mediated by Toshiba.
After many discussions on this forum, these lists are in various different threads for models of laptops.

    Answer 3:
This is offered on the Toshiba U.S. page but you have the European model and you don t need. Just install stuff offered on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Hard drive on the Satellite L300-154 crash

On 28 March, the hard drive in my Toshiba L300 154 failed and wouldn't boot from the partition recovery or recovery disks.

I have installated a new HDD to be identical to the previous (just without the image) and decided to try my Windows 7 disc. I understand perfectly the requirements of Windows 7 and Vista hardware on the laptop, however, after Select preference startup screen would go black and display a PX18 M0F error message (I can't really remember the code exactly) on the device cable/media not been plugged in properly.

Check the connector on the hard drive internally so that all the other components for dry joints or fractures and all very well.

In any case, after you take out the hard drive and install on my bench development, I loaded Windows 7 above and placed in the laptop...

Now it loads up and gets to the point where you enter your password, but before you even see that VERY quickly the screen flashes a blue error screen.

Am I missing important drivers/fixes? or is there a way I can be sent 32 bit Vista OS to restore my laptop? I don't really want to buy Vista as it is a very poor operating system and I can't imagine anywhere to buy now days because there is no support for it.

    Hello

You must install OS when the HARD drive is placed in the Notepad.
Please put the laptop HARD disk, restart your laptop. Enter the BIOS settings, set it to default settings and check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS.

If the HARD drive is recognized correctly, restart the computer and press F12 to get into the boot menu.
    HARD drive is it too?

Put in ODD Win7 installation disc, choose CD/DVD as a boot device and press ENTER.
Hopefully, the Win7 installation starts correctly.
