  You can do none of this, I'm afraid. You can change the email address that is your Apple ID to another address non-Apple, but you cannot change it to your iCloud address (which is an Apple ID itself). And you are unable to use this address iCloud in conjunction with any other Apple ID.

  Since 5 days I could not get email to iCloud. It is in the back-end.  Intensified at the Apple Support and they say they have engineers search inside.  I can send emails but not receive them.  My hunch is a kind of corruption of the files from my server-side of the mailbox.

  Someone saw something like that?  I am amazed in 2016, it takes 5 days and counting to the problems of electronic mail.

  I have not had such problems you describe, but my only suggestion would be to hold tight.  Do you have another email from a third party, that you can use in the meantime?

  You have the setup of AOL Mail accounts? You store messages on the local computer, or is AOL IMAP? Whatever it is, if the two accounts are configured in Mail, you can transfer messages from one account to the other. Or, move the messages from AOL local mailboxes.

  If AOL is not configured in the mail, either configure the email account and forward messages or see if you can export from the AOL website and import them into Mail.
