Fake windows popup Windows Security on my computer
I'm not much of a computer person, so I really have no idea what to do to solve this problem. I usually keep my computer until I fall asleep, and when I turned it on this morning I started having all these alerts on how cases are "infected" and how my computer is under attack. He said that I had to "activate" windows security which sounded pretty fishy to me. Every few seconds a new alert will be pop up indicating that a new file is corrupt and every few minutes another pop up will appear saying that my computer is under attack. My Internet Explorer claims that I can't go to any site because "there is a threat," even though I know that sites like Google and Yahoo are difficult threats. I ran a full scan of the system on Norton and it said that there are no threats, but I'm sure there must be some kind of virus or malware on my computer to be the cause of all these fraud alerts enable a security system non-existent windows. Is there a way I can get rid of this? Thanks for your help.
Updated Norton and run the full scan of the system with norton and see if it detects anything else.

How to get rid of the fake windows security alert virus
There was a virus on my laptop in the last two months. on the bottom taskbar, there's a red 'x' icon shield and whenever I try to go it takes me to the esentials Security page and he said: "the Security Center service is disabled" and it lights whenever I try to turn it on. also it doesn't let me access the internet or try to restore the laptop. I tried all solvents of spyware as spyware doctor and malware bytes, but it seems that I still have not had the problem again. help because this situation is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hello
One way to solve the problem would be to backup your important data (redundancy) and then re - install
Windows after formatting the drive. Check with the manufacturer of your system's support to see what you need to do
that (and you probably already have what is necessary). You can buy the installation discs for Windows in the system
machine cheaply if necessary since you already own windows.=====================================
Another method would be to ensure that the malware is detected and deleted with internet access being
restored.Try typing several times F8 as you start and select a Safe Mode with networking. If that works to proceed to the
methods below. (You can try wired access and wireless if you have both available). If this does not work
then use another computer to download the drivers and the necessary programs and transfer them to your machine
on removable media. It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however you must also run them
the Windows when you can.Download malwarebytes and scan with it, run MRT and add Prevx to be sure that he is gone. (If Rootkits run UnHackMe)

.exe files are not open; affected by the Windows Security Center of lazy virus
Hello!
As the title indicates, none of my executables will open his; on the contrary, when I click on an icon or similar function (as in the start menu), I'm inclined to the screen 'open with... ». I noticed that most often, if I run the program as administrator, it is likely to work without having to manually find the file - still a bit tedious however.
I'm assuming that since I was recently hit by the virus which is a fake Windows Security Center, something my registry has also been hit (take into account the fact that I'm not savvy computer in the slightest). It happened on my user account initial and rather than take action on the right, then, I decided that I would use the other account that I had to install a program better anti-virus (Norton provided ISP) than the one I had been using (the two admin). At that point, I had finished all my activity moved to the new account and it worked very well until the virus had one possessing this account as well - delete on the first user account seemed to have deleted only the effects of my account but still affected everything I did after that. This time, I went and deleted all accounts and checked to ensure that it is not at all. After getting rid of the virus, it's the same thing: none of my .exe files will open without using the monitor "open with...". ». I'm not really sure what action to take from here, I have not done much to remedy the situation, and I'm going right through the screen of "open with...". "to get to what whatever - so any suggestions or help would be very appreciated.
Keypoints:
- .exe files are not open (However, in some cases, the "Run as Administrator" option overrides it)
- recently hit with (deleted) and fake Windows Security Center virus ; That's when the .exe is no longer
- is not much in terms of addressing this problem, do not know what to do with regard to the question of if my situation calls for something specific
I tried to cover everything that seemed important to address; However, if there is more need information, let me know. I am about average in terms of computer navigation and therefore my understanding of what many of these commands, functions and files is a bit Basic.
Thank you! :)
Thanks for the very comprehensive post. Run the Doug Knox fix (that isn't a .exe that you can do this).

This is a complete scam. You can report it to your local police.
For your own protection, you should:- Change your passwords on email accounts, accounts financial and sensitive to which accounts you access online from this PC. RIGHT NOW!
- Run a full scan of your PC using your antivirus application... Also download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free edition). MBAM is a very good solution in addition to your primary backup antivirus/antimalware application.
- I would also go here: https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Shared/Help.aspx and follow the advice of "I think that my PC is infected", including potentially calls MS help.
- Above all, do not delay! If you have any concerns about the handling of it, then disconnect your computer from the internet and call MS before anything else.

Update XP computer installed Fake windows infected the system.
My mother uses windows xp and apparently downloaded a fake windows update. She has a box that appears many times several times and she can't get him to stop. There is no info about it but my sister brother-in-law says she has searched a bit and found out that it is a Trojan horse that has made a change to the registry. I tried to restore his computer at 3 different times before the virus and the computer is unable to complete the restore. We have saved all his important information and now you ask if we should use backup and restore disc that came with the computer with factory settings. Please notify. Any help would be appreciated.
Turn off System Restore. If you can still get in windows, get it and run . And get this update then click scan. Then select all the options in the Utilities menu. This can save you reinstalling windows. Download malwarebytes, update and then do a full scan .
If you can not do anything in normal windows, restart, press F8 and select Safe mode / networking. Then do the above

original title: the customer service is horrible
After I downloaded beta Security Essentials, my computer say suddenly that he was not a genuine copy of Windows running and locked up.
I called last night and got a foreign person has attempted to resolve the issues and could not, so he told me that I had to call back after 06:00 to speak to someone in the United States. So I called back today at 06:00 and got one of those who are running around things voice control that didn't fix my problem at all. After much effort, I got a live person. Again, it was a foreign person (why make me wait all night and get up early to call?!?!)This woman told me to restart. I told her that I had rebooted about 10 times since the day before and each time he took forever to load back up the box that tells me that I need to activate windows. She has reiterated, "I ask you to restart." I knew he wouldn't do ANYTHING, but I did and after the session it forever (as I told him it would be) she told me that I had to remind once I got up the box again. I called after that I got the box AND HAD TO START OVER again ONCE with someone new. Of course, she was trying to pass me to someone else.Of course, after all this trouble, no MS sells a product key for Vista, it is abandoned. So I need to go buy Windows 7 and she told me that I'll LOSE EVERYTHING when I install it - all my documents and family photos are gone forever. Why not take my money and sell me a product key instead of let me in trouble? The worst ever undertaken. Of course, MS doesn't care because they have a monopoly. You should not need to buy anything except the recovery disc for your machine (if the built-in recovery partition does not work), unless you really need Win 7 for some reason any.
That being said - the COA sticker on your machine is readable? If Yes, then you should have no problem with a Windows 7 upgrade version - but you will need to either use activation by phone, or installation methods described here...

Hi Mkress,
Welcome!
You can get this error if Windows Error Reporting Service does not start, try to restart the service on the computer and check if the problem persists or not, follow the steps below to start the service:
1. click on start.
2 type Services in the start search.
3. look for Windows Error Reporting Service in the list.
4. right click on the Service.
5. click on properties.
6. set the Startup Type to automatic.
7 set the starting state.
8. click on apply.
9. click on OK.
Now restart the computer for the changes to the effect.
I would say that you do the check disk on the computer to find the bad sectors and disk related errors on the computer, follow these steps:
1. the procedure for chkdsk to run:
i. Click Start
II. type cmd in the start search box.
III. right-click on cmd.exe list programs and then select the run as Administrator option.
IV. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
v. in the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk/r
Note: When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then Windows starts. Now, run the disk check in the command prompt.

The Windows Security Center warned that automatic updates are not enabled and I don't then turn them on in this window. When I try to open a doc of the internet (for example a document my teacher wanted us to watch and it maintains a link on its website). A windows security box will open to the top and ask me my credentials, but I never put in place of the identification information. How can I close it so I never have to enter credentials more? Thank you!
depends on the site or document,
If the site requires credentials to download, then you must get these credentials of which it is posted the file.
If you download the file / document but cannot open it then.
If it is password protected and requires
then you need to get the password / qualifications of the owner of the file.If it's just the prompt to open files "from another computer.

a > move the file on a SD card or USB drive formatted in FAT or FAT32
