False paper jam in nine HP LaserJet Pro 100 M175nw

I have a brand new unit never printed a page.  As soon as I plugged it in, I got the error message of paper jam.

"Feeder jam clear doc, reload" press [OK] to continue.  By pressing 'OK' or the Cancel of X button does nothing.

I made (double, triple checked) there was no Ribbon, paper, packing anywhere on or in the printer.  I can even coax to print a page, but the error never stops.  It does not copy and does not print a page 100% correctly.  I cycled the printer power switch unplug the printer about 5 times and no change.  I took each cartridge and reinstalled the drum and what looked like she could be removed easily.  No change.

Help

OK, so I followed the instructions online for the "jam" and "false jam" at least a dozen times.  Also, I stayed and followed the suggestions of the HP cat.  A few hours later and no success what-so-ever, I finally called HP customer service for a refund.

The gentleman I spoke to the HP Customer Service was AWESOME.  Long story short, he walked me through a few things that I already had, but at the end he told me:

1 roll each roll that I could reach in the document feeder, just to release what it is stuck.

2. place a document on the flat bed scanner and try to copy.

#2 fixed my problem!  It's somehow reset the printer or caused the error to "look" somewhere other than this error.  He took a solid 2-3 minutes to "think" about the analysis, but eventually copied the document and executed perfectly.  It's been several days and the printer has played perfectly every time.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus false paper jam message

I am ready to throw this printer out the window! I'm tired of false paper jam messages. The printer will be fine for a few weeks, then... another message of jam that can take hours to clear.

I: reset the printer, looked for jams, checked the latest firmware, shaken and even moved the print cartridge support to the right (which is surprising solved the problem several times). The only thing I have not tried is a ceremony of purification of incense.

Come on HP, stop telling us to try all of the unnecessary procedures. There is a sensor in the machine that is faulty. Fix it!

Instead of throwing out the window, I'll put it on the sidewalk and invite passers-by to take their frustration with a hammer. It would make a great video!

Additional info: if I'm able to run "align print heads", who often corrects the situation. A little more evidence that there is a sensor on the blink.

28/08/14: personal support HP said that the problem I encountered was very likely due to a defective sensor.

I just sent you a private message. If you are unsure how to check your messages on the forum this post, has instructions.

  • Difficulty C4400 c4480 false paper jam

I have a C4480 who has developed a false paper jam a week after the warranty missed.

The methods referenced to clear paper, reset the printer has not set. After not getting any useful help articles proposed, I started looking through this forum. I found a reference to the transparent plastic wheel loosens which controls the operation. I removed the cover on the left side and find the wheel.  In my case mine was very well attached.  I used a dusting the air compressed spray between the sensor and the transparent plastic wheel.

Hah! that fixed it! Apparently dust can accumulate in the slot of the sensor.  While it takes a Torx T-10 to, this isn't a hard difficulty. I have now printed 5 copies of a report on page 11.

I had additional false paper jams. About twice a year.

First top fix applied in this thread, removed the left cover and cleaned clear wheel and dust clear wheel base optical sensors. Has not fixed the problem.

Fixed the most recent with roller cleaning with wet paper towels with clear water.

Open A back door for access. Wiping with above a wet paper towel rolls.

    Open cartridge door:

Transport has moved all the way to the right.

    Removed cartridges

Clean the intermediate rolls behind were transport moves

Rolls of paper cleaned on the Board output.

    Cleaned Dust-Off

    Now it it works again!

  • PSC 1600 all-in-one does not print because of false paper jam

The printer will print not a WORD doc due to a false paper jam.  It will print a scanned doc that proves that there is no paper jam. The document remains in Quebec, and when I click on the printer icon, and open the folder it says "paper jam".   How can I get the printer to recognize that there is no paper jam?  Operating system is VISTA.

Try to uninstall and reinstall your software. Before you do, try to restart your computer and try again to print.

I use this printer only for envelopes, and I checked carefully. Took apart. It will work with either plain paper. I get no response from the forum except for points applicable to the all-in-one and the same of Google searches. It's like this simple type of printers is not false jams. Checked the manual, of course, but he treats that how to fix real paper jams.

    Hello Hazelg,

Sometimes, paper jams can be true or false. Sometimes a reset can solve recurring false paper jams. Try the following steps. I'm also including some information about the prevention of recurring paper jams, which may be useful. Good luck!

First step: perform a power reset

    Hey @yechiel-adar,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your color HP LaserJet Pro 100 M175a multifunction fails to install on your computer Windows 8.1 as the computer recognizes your printer as a CD drive and the installation fails at 83%. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. To be honest, it sounds like there is a conflict between your computer and the HP Smart Install feature. Smart Install is a feature that has been programmed into the new models of Laserjet. It allows you to simply plug a USB cable and the installation files will load on your computer for you for faster and easier installation. However, on some computers systems rather find recognizing printers printers rather than software CDs. • Can I disable wi - fi on a HP LaserJet Pro 100 MFP M177fw color. My place of work does not.

    Hi ltyarr,

I understand what you want to do but you can just turn off the wireless radio, or you can install a password for the network, and then disable the wireless radio.

I have provided the manual for the Laserjet Pro 100 color MFP M177fw. The specialized section

Safety features of the product to the 56 page allows you to configure the wireless and password protect the network. You can disable the wireless radio and no one could access or set up a network without password.

  • HP 401n false paper jam error

I have a HP Laserjet M401N printer that displays the error "Paper jam" on my default printer but the paper path is clear and verified with multiple eyes, the printer LCD is 'ready' and I can print the pages from the printer config and the printer web interface, but not through the properties of printer or any test page box I have send.

On our print server, the printer is also referred to as "paper jam", and I don't see a way to clear the error message.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks Dave,.

We could always connect to the printers web interface and even print pages of config here and in the reports menu on the printer itself.  Yesterday afternoon, after I posted I have updated the firmware of printers that does not seem to help, and then after I did a factory reset which does not solve the problem BUT, five minutes later, the error of jam allowed in the queue of the network printers and it has been fine since.  You wonder now if a dns flush and register on our print server would have also worked.

    But I'm ready, thank you!

  • False paper jams Officejet K550

I have an Officejet K550 inkjet printer interface (physical Exchange cable with 2 separate PC, a running Windows XP) and the other Win NT respectively.

the printer will print diagnostics, the quality of printing & pages alignment with no problems at all but all print job from an external source (screen printing, text Notepad or any other software) will show the first 1 "on the paper, then stop feeding & resume light flashing indicating a paper jam.  A full inspection of the paper path landed No jams or obstructions anywhere.  I get the same results with no operating system.

Open the Toolbox & reprint diagnostics works great, external source causes the same error of false .

Troubleshooting Guide at this point says to contact support...

much later (network here was slow) I ran across a related post and found a solution.

I don't remember the poster, but already answered here with congratulations.

the miracle which cures the problem of phantom paper jam was:

hold down the "Power" button while pressing 'Summary' 3 x button then release both keys.  problem was cured in a few seconds and did not return.  replace this newer model printer was not an option due to a limitation of the specific system, so this was a great help.
