  • Family Safety prevents the installation of the desktop app from SkyDrive

I try to install the SkyDrive desktop application, to synchronize the files of my daughter to SkyDrive. His account is a child account on Windows 8 and therefore subject to parental control restrictions. When I log on her account and try to install the SkyDrive soft I usually 'blocked by Family Safety' pop-up, followed by an error from the installer to SkyDrive, SkyDrive could not be installed and the error code is 0x800704c7. I clicked on the 'blocked by Family Safety' pop up more than once and expressed my permission to use the application by typing my password, but nothing helped. The same thing happens again.

Does anyone have an idea on what could be going on here?

    Hi, I did as requested.

I should mention that there is a possible workaround for this problem solution, i.e.
    1. Disable security for the family
    2. Install SkyDrive
    3. Enable security for the family
    4. Give permission to use SkyDrive, when he complains
I just performed these steps and SkyDrive seems to work very well.

  • Family Safety Windows blocking is not enough

I have activated Windows parental controls for a child account on Windows 8.1 and disabled all applications that are registered except Chrome.

I tested and it blocks a lot of things, but allows much more than just Chrome.

I disabled the downloads in the center of the family, but downloading files via Chrome still works.

Once connected was - this child account, I opened regedit and was able to tinker around in the registry and change everything that can create or modify a standard user account.

Notepad works.  I created a .bat with some commands file and saved to the desktop.  Then, I clicked on it and run the script without any problems.

Turn off all the sliders to block applications seems to give a false impression that the user is locked a lot more than they really are.

Are there other applications and executable blocking settings that can be activated in the parental control?

How can I set this up so that the child's account runs, which is expressly authorized in the white list and no other programs such as regedit, notebook, random scripts, etc.. ?

I want this Windows system either as malware as possible evidence all being usable for surfing the web like a Chromebook, but this does not do.

If the download blocking only works for IE, I couldn't remove Chrome in the list allow applications, but this still does not resolve the other issues listed.

  • Family safety is unable to connect to the service, WMI/COM questions

So, to start with the necessary technical information.  I'm having the problem on new systems within one of these configurations:

    Windows 8

    Windows 8 Pro

    Windows 8 improved to 8.1

Windows Pro upgraded to 8.1 8.1

After I installed the operating system and all the available patches, I can add an account and (to Win 8) Note that accounts for the child.  If I try to point 8.1, I get error dreaded "we can communicate with the service right now, please try again later".

In Control Panel, when I click on 'Manage settings on the Security site family' I pause then the error "sorry, the service is not available.

Search in the event logs, in the Microsoft-Windows-WMI-activity/Operational log I get an error, 5858 EventID:

The GUID changes from attempt to attempt, and I can't find the GUID in the registry.

Race to the resolution of security issues family continues to tell me that I have corrupted files (and it has fixed their), reboot, and the problem persists.  If I could find on what files have been corrupted as the fixed store who could help, but I'm not sure.

    SFC/scannow does detect no error

There is no installed applications outside that comes with windows (new installation).

I configured 2 child accounts.  Family safety works on a laptop computer Windows 8.1.

I can connect (browser) on the family safety website.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi MarKenin,

I am a developer in the parental control team.  I'm sorry that you have had this problem with our product.  I don't want to thank you for providing an impressive amount of detail in your message.

The WMI event, you found is indeed notable--it was our attempt to contact our service to add your machine to the parental control service.  The error code was an HRESULT value of 0x803D0013, which indicates that the web service returned an error.  There is no way to pick which was exactly the mistake, but we do actively monitor and review the errors that occur on our service to identify and solve problems that arise.

We found a question that might have prevented Microsoft specific accounts to set up parental controls on all devices, the period you were trying to bring to the top of your devices.  The problem has been resolved, and we continue to monitor our service as well as these forums to identify new issues.

    Thank you

    Daniel

  • The family safety activity log shows no data for Facebook

Parental controls will not register the Chrome Facebook activity.
I see in the activity that children use, for example, 0.5 hours of chrome, but there is no granular information.
My daughter spent 2 hours on Facebook and the Family Safety activity log shows no data to Facebook.
The computer is a new installation of Windows 7
Live essentials have been installed yesterday.
All web links for accounts for children have been created yesterday
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to see real activity?
Also, before someone suggests using another browser, is not an option, IE is uninstalled.
Chrome is the only browser used because of all the android devices, we have.
    Thank you

Client Windows Live Family Safety currently not reported HTTPS traffic unless the web of the child, filtering mode is set to "notify on the adult.  Facebook who worked in HTTP mode has recently moved that the HTTPS site and that's the reason to not see, Facebook or any other site that is HTTPS in the progress report on Windows 7 machines.

It is resolved in Windows 8 and activity reports should show HTTPS traffic.

Current work around that for Windows 7 client

-Set the mode of web filtering to ' warn on adult "- child will receive a warning message if they go to all the adult sites and the parents will be informed in the annual report if the child decides to go to the site.

I watched videos on the web and read documents on how to put in place, but when I log on the Family Safety website I introduced to all categories of web filtering, lists of filtering web, followed by activity, deadlines, restrictions of game, etc but no contact management.

    Any help is appreciated...

    Hi RLD_WI,

Family safety has made recent changes to its functions and functionlity. The latest version of the parental control now uses the standard user accounts (logon Windows) as a child in the safety of the family. To learn more about the changes in the management of Contact, please see the link below:

Where is the function of the safety Contact family management?

If you need to know about adding a user to the Windows login with standard privileges, please see this link.

If you have already created a standard user and you want to manage under parental control, then follow these steps:

    1. run the parental control on a Windows account with administrator privileges. If this is your first time running the parental control, you need to sign in using your Microsoft Account.

    2. after login, select the standard Windows account that you want to monitor as a child by checking the box to the right of the name of the account, and then click Next after.

3 on the right, you will see members parental control with a list of drop down option. Click the menu drop-down, and then select Add standard account name.

    4. click on record. Wait until the installation is done.

    5. Once done, you should see the name of the account under Windows monitored accounts.

  • Why can't I delete Windows Live Family Safety?

I used Windows Live Essentials 2011 Setup to remove Windows Live Family Safety, since it doesn't seem to work in Win8. However, if I type 'Family' on the start screen, it appears here. If I choose that, I get a dialog box indicating that there are compatibility problems. If I right-click and choose uninstall, need me "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and features" and it is not listed there. If I open the parental controls control panel, it still appears as one of the suppliers.

What should I do to get rid of him?

    Hi Rick,

Since you have problems uninstalling Windows Live Family Safety using the Control Panel, I suggest you uninstall the Windows Live Essentials together via the CMD line parameter and reinstall only applications required, please follow the steps in the link below:

        • I uninstalled parental controls on both computers and reinstalled with the web installer Live Essentials.  The real account seems to authenticate correctly the first time, he asks the account to use when opening of parental control for the first time.  After that, "the Windows Live ID or the password is incorrect.  Please try again ".

The team of the said values and recognizes the suggestions and feedback from users of the Windows Live products. You can also submit this page http://feedback.live.com/ and select "Windows Live Family Safety".

When you go to fss.live.com and it redirects you to the website "Live Essentials", this indicates that the account has not yet been defined in the client Windows Live Family Safety. You must connect to the customer first before you can access fss.live.com.

On the prompt "only an adult can connect as a Parent Family Safety. Ask an adult to log in.' it is possible that you tried to open a session with a Windows Live account does not have the required age of the customer sign of family security.

Hi team security for the family support...

I sent an email earlier - did not answer... not sure if your system does not...
I have a question that is quite unique and it can help you find some problems with the security of family product...

I installed the parental control on a PC in Karachi Pakistan......
It generated reports of activity as it supposed to...
After seeing the family members using computers hurt... I have limited Sites for only a few sites in two or three additions to a restriction of programs etc...
January 15, 2011, I installed another Monitring Eblaster software / software Spector... I stopped doing this PC activity reports
Then 12, 13, 17, Jan Feb 1, 2, 3, 4 (2012) I started getting emails from your email server * address email is removed from the privacy * see the content of the emails below...

But when I go online on the default page... He reported no activity since January 15, 2012 (when I installed Eblaster)...

Since this PC and with a lot of other things (app $10,000 value) is reported STOLEN... so I have to report it to local authorities.

Given that the user access to all, but few sites has been blocked by Fsafety... so these emails which have been generated by a USER ACCOUNT

has these emails generated by your system, AFTER that the user logs on to the system OR by default, it generates the emails... but the
question, is that these emails are 1) when your page by default says there is no activity. The requested site that sends this e-mail request is spectorsoft... site...
Given that people (username below) has been responsible for this PC and SHE IS the ONE REPORT FLIES on January 30, 2012 m, but I get these emails generated by Fsafety of his user ID. I had other user on this computer IDs... The ID of ADMIN I ordered has been configured as a PARENT and is not blocked... (this is why he contacted the Spector server..)

Since the system has been installed and guarded, she probably reinstalled windows and removed the FamilySaftey...

If please, check the logs and let me know what these emails were generated by the IP address and if you have more information about this PC, please write to me...
This PC is located at Karachi in Pakistan and I followed from a distance it
I can't send emails using your system support with the pictures... Please provide another email address.

I need the original support person to answer... What was the point of asking me to send you copies of the emails sent by system fs also I don't need to know what I have to you have to follow his hotmail email, I would be as you can see she's using the hotmail account you need to ANSWER the original question, on the default fs reports page no activity , but then these emails were generated by having access to a Web site? As I have indicated I consider 'flight reported' this computer as well as other valuables, when the ID of the person who reported the theft is currently connected and I had the installer of security strict password by creating different thank you user accounts
