Family Vista premium missing windows media player 64-bit

Hello.. .fondamentalement the title says it all.   I'm in Europe and bought the English version of vista HP 64-bit. (integrated home system)

I want to install what my favorite site who subscribe to allows me to listen to live games and then what highlights.

But in IE 8 32-bit I get an error (works on IE8 64-bit for any reason and on firefox)... and on 64-bit windows system 7.

the error code is:

An error occurred trying to read this content.

Error code: C00D1197 OR 0xC00D1197
Error number:-1072885353
Error description: Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you try to read, burn or sync an item that is in your library, the element can point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted.

For more information, see Microsoft troubleshooting Page.

Thanks for the links to d/l the WMP 64 bit (I sen a player 64 bit but it was for XP)

other than this WMP 11 works very well... just thought I would try the 64 bit version and see if that makes a difference.

Hello GrimREMA,

This means a file has been moved, renamed, or deleted.  The file is possibly corrupted.

In Windows Media Player 11, you can choose 'options' on the 'Library' tab then
Select the network? This tab is opened?

    Hi Trish,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum!

Based on the information you gave it seems you found the error code 0x80004005 and 0x8007047F during the installation of Windows Media player.

If you have windows 7 installed, it is not possible to uninstall Windows Media Player 12. Windows Media Player 12 comes preinstalled with the operating system. You can not downgrade to Windows Media Player 11 in Windows 7.

I suggest you to follow the link and check if it is enabled or disabled, and then restart the computer to start windows media player 12.

By default, Windows Vista comes with Windows Media Player 11

Version 11.6001 indicates that Windows Vista Service pack 1 is present on the computer, and the version 11.6002 indicates that Windows Vista Service pack 2 is present on the computer.

For player to automatically download usage rights , download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file option must be turned on (by default, it is enabled). To check that it is enabled, follow these steps:

    In Windows Media Player

    1. click on the arrow on the reading tab, click Other Options, and then click the Privacy tab.

    2. check that the box download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file is selected.

There is no showing WMPlayer.exe is good. You must run SFC and CheckDisk and make the
other procedures to make it work.

After ALL the above if necessary to reregister the Jscript.dll and Vbscript.dll files.

Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

    type or copy and paste-> regsvr32 jscript.dll
    Press enter

    type or copy and paste-> regsvr32 vbscript.dll
    Press enter

Restart and if all goes well, it will run now.

  • How to reinstall windows media player in Vista?

I had Media Player on my computer at the same time but was not using it so uninstalled, I need now, but when I try to download it, I get a message that I already have a version of media player on my computer. I looked in my control panel and all I can think of and can't find it. I need to know how to get rid of the message saying: I have a version of it, so I can download it again or how can I find it and put an icon on my desktop

If you have Windows Vista, you have Windows Media Player INCLUDED. , It is part of the system. It cannot be uninstalled.
This is why you get this message.
You do NOT uninstalled. You could have 'removed' in the start menu, but the program is still in the system.

    Try the easiest way...
Start button > in the search box, type windows media player > do you see Windows Media High Playerat left? If so, click it. Now that you have Windows Media Player.

If for some reason, that the method above does not work...
Start button > computer > right click on the C: drive > Open > highlightthe program files, make a right click, clickOpen > scroll to findWindows Media Pla..., right-click, click Open > scroll to find wmplayer.exe, click it. Now you should have Windows Media Player on screen.
