Favorites in windows Explorer. Windows 7

My links in my bookmarks disappeared.  I get a red bar circle when I try to add something to the folder.  I checked the registry and done just about everything that is publicly displayed.  The question applies to all users of the machine.  Including administrator.

What browser do you use?

    Hello

Right click the Skydrive shortcut that you created, and select copy.

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Users\your name\Links folder.
(Where 'your name' is the name of your user account)

Right click on the links folder and select Paste.

This will place the Skydrive folder in the Favorites list in the file Explorer.

  • My list of "Favorite" of Internet Explorer bookmarks disappeared; I can not find them - 'import of IE' that appear an out-of-date list of favorites... How to find

I tried all the options under all items 'Help' to find my missing Favorites ("Favorites") from IE, and nothing has worked. When I tried 'Import of IE', he loaded a list of Favorites at least a year. I can't find the current bookmarks that are stored in the folder "From Internet Explorer". When I click on the Favorites (Star) icon in the upper right corner, the menu no longer displays the option to select "from Internet Explorer". The only thing I have not tried is the "Restore" option available in the "library" under "Import and backup" window: I don't know which of the files listed is correct, and the instructions careful that whatever files are chosen now will replace the previous file. I don't want to accidentally erase all my stored Favorites (hundreds of them) and end up with only the bookmarks I saved just recently - I don't want to end up with a set of (old) Favorites obsolete.

You can find the entry menu import into the Manager of bookmarks (library)

If you can't find the IE Favorites in the folder ("Internet Explorer") or have problems with import favorites IE in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

This way also preserve you a sort that you did with the Favorites in Internet Explorer and the Favorites don't end up in a folder "from Internet Explorer", but will be added at the end of the file Menu bookmarks.

  • The equivalent of "Favorites" in Internet Explorer contains bookmarks?

Where are my registered sites registered? Also, am I able to 'share' the file on my local network? I have a desktop PC and a laptop connected to my network. I want to do is make sure I have save (or favorite?) a site on the laptop or desktop, it is available on both. Does make sense? If I need to do a better job explaining let me know. Currently, I share with success the IE folder 'Favorites' so links are always in sync and the same links are available on both of my machines.

Hello soundprodj, yes what is called favorites in Internet Explorer contains bookmarks in firefox - but other than IE, firefox does not store individual files in the file system, but in an internal database.
You can use firefox sync to share your bookmarks firefox/history etc. between different devices:

Windows Explorer is not able to read the file of database places.sqlite that Firefox uses to store bookmarks.

If you want to share bookmarks online, the best thing to do is to export your bookmarks in bookmarks.html format and view this file online for your friends see.
