  I am trying to load my favorites sidebar FF on my old drive to my new computer.
  Personally, I did not backup any kind of FF, but I guess that FF automatically as a result, it can load bookmarks in the sidebar on reboot.
  I tell myself that these bookmarks sidebar must be stored somewhere which can be accessed and loaded on the new drive.
  I can find previous sessions, but they don't have that some bookmarks saved, I have had hundreds before the computer goes dead.
  I run windows 7 on the old drive to the new computer has windows 8, do not know if that makes a difference.

  OK, thanks for all the help, I have all sussed.
  I looked at my other computers and you see that the 8 .json files & 9 KB have been saved on my drive are very small and have only 10 or so brand book, they should be about 200KB.
  I have no idea why they saved so small, but something did not work.
  The data have been there all the time (even when he was little) but I was not aware of the size, that they should have been.

  On a Mac, it is not [Ctrl + B], try out different options, I found that it is however [command + B] to open the Bookmarks Sidebar which allows use and rename bookmarks.

  I do a lot of photo editing and saving the photos, etc. And I noticed that yesterday trying to save a picture and the pop than the 'Favorites' part Finder Windows is gone.

  Bookmarks can be hidden or shown.

  Launch the Finder in the Dock.

  Move the mouse pointer the very right of the 'favourites' and hover.

  The option 'Show' should appear.

  

  Finder > Preferences > sidebar

  Make sure that the items under Favorites are enabled.

• Hide the Finder sidebar permanently

  How do permanently hide you the sidebar Finder so that it does not appear in any Finder window? I'd be happy to be able to show when I want it, but not every time I opened a window.

  Like many Mac users (and pros in particular) I constantly work with several windows open simultaneously and having several identical side bars, taking up real estate is certainly not desirable. Frankly, have to hit command-option-s, everytime I open a window is a hack.

  When I press Command + Option + S to hide the sidebar, and I open a new Finder window, the sidebar is always hidden.  He returned in a new window until I chose to display it.  As far as I know however, there is no way to remove it permanently.  You can hide only, just like you can hide the sidebar in Safari.

  Hey all, I've just updated my firefox and there is one thing that is bugging me. I have the bookmark sidebar button on my bookmark menu. Previously I click the button and the sidebar introduced themselves and then once I removed my sidebar the sidebar slider would leave.

  Once I have updated the sidebar remains unless I click the x, press ctrl + b or click the button. Overall it's pretty boring and I appreciated that once I was no wriggling on the sidebar, it would automatically close the sidebar.

  Maybe that's the problem of two-very-similar-buttons? In the Customize dialog box, you cannot tell which is the Favorites sidebar button and drop-down list of bookmarks button. However, when you drag to a toolbar, the menu button drop-down has bookmarks in Word beside him. So you may need to drag one or both to find the one you want.

  Notice that the drop-down list of bookmarks button appears only when you use the Compact (orange Firefox button) menu. If the menu bar is displayed, this button is hidden (since you have a menu equivalent of bookmarks in the menu bar).

  I have an iMac plus old (2007) and since I upgraded to El Capitan, a number of strange things have occurred, probably due to the age of my Mac.  One of these things is that my iCloud drive has disappeared from my sidebar.  There may be no correlation because it is recent and I upgraded to OS X a couple of months.  I first it disassembled in preferences and then mount it again.  No luck.  I disconnected iCloud and then reconnected.  Once again, no luck.  Anyone have any other ideas what I might try?
