FDMEE with LCMS migration on load balancer

Hello

When I click on FDMEE in shared Service, I get "EPMLCM-13000: Service not available"error. "  I don't know if this is the case only because we use a load balancer.

Some that I am not able to run in one of the environments - 11.1.2.4. Features of FDMEE are very good.

Is just me or everyone sailing in the same boat?

Thank you

AA

So if SSL is discharged then communication LWA will be on by default http and not the LB will accept that.

Similar to the Standard deployment topology

See you soon

  • NIC teaming with the IP hash load balancing

    Hi guys

I have a virtual machine with a VMXNET3 10 Gbps. It is usually have a heavy traffic with a special server and saturate one of my two physical NIC of 1 Gbps in its PortGroup. I want to know what's going to happen if I turn on "NIC Teaming for this portgroup with basic IP hash load balancing". In my case the source IP address and destination are not change so the aggregates of traffic between my two physical network adapters?

To avoid saturating completely the two 1GbE NIC, it can also be useful to look in charge based on the grouping and the NIOC. It will ensure that the other streams of traffic VM are not crushed by this machine a virtual when it saturates a network card. The disadvantage is that it requires Enterprise Plus licenses (using a dvSwitch).

  • With forms 10g server load balancing

    Hello

I have a client who is just now dealing with a migration from a platform of client-server 6i (using Terminal servers) to a platform of web forms 10 g with several application 10 g standalone servers.

In the end, customer wants to activate load balancing in order to have some manage to each application server workload.

The idea to accomplish is to have a hardware load balancer. The customer has already a CISCO CSS 11503 SSL.
Is there a documentation where I can check more info on compatibility/configuration for this architecture.

    Thank you for your attention.

  • With view 5.1 load balancer

    Hey all,.

I have a question about to lift our load balancing program and perform in our view environment 5.1.  I followed the article KB 2020913 to get our servers view running with SSL certificates.  I'm doing our load balancer in place and I keep getting errors in SSL certificate.  Here is a brief summary of our facility.  I have two servers to view (VCS1 and VCS2) connection with our internal certificate authority SSL certificates.  There is our program of load balancing.  When you use VMware View Client and go to the view.company.com address of the load balancer, I get "pipe in the certificate name is invalid or does not match.  I click on 'See the certificate' and it is to show the certificate of one of the connection view servers.  A I mess up something with the installation program, or have I missed an obvious solution?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    -Kyle

    Hello

It is the expected behavior. With SSL, the certificate name is checked by report specified by the client host name.

There are two ways to deal with this. If you are using certificates with another subject of your load-balanced alias name, it all will work.

for example if you have some certs on each connection to the server (or the Security Server) with the names cs1.myco.com and cs2.myco.com but customers do you think users will connect using a load-balanced alias view.myco.com, then by ensuring that each cert has another name of subject of view.myco.com then the hostname match control work.

  • Adpaters/active with the vPort ID load balancing

Looking at the following configuration, my understanding is that some virtual machines in this group of ports will use vmnic1 and some will use vmnic6 (based on their ID vport).  Pretty simple.

Assume that the uplink different swithces cards.  This works because there is no tree blocking one of the unplinks.  Question is: what happens to traffic on vmnic6 if the link fails? (failure of the local liaison, NIC failure, etc. - I'm even not consider upstream failure here).  My understanding is that vmnic1 will not resume because the windows are related to the vmnic6.  Only if there is a Standby adapter is there a link to relief for vmnic6 or vmnic1.  In other words, with vPort (no Etherchannel) of load balancing, two active/active adapters are not 'Standby' to each other.  Is that correct, or am I wrong?

I ask because I see this routinely on customer sites.  But what I always have it set up as a channel of port for a single switch, if two switches or was to be used, then I made active/active and then included a Standby adapter for failover should one Fail of active principles.  Or, if all I need is resumed, not load balancing, I just did a single active/passive and alternate ports between them as a form of manual balancing groups.

I always just assumed Active would not switch to another asset without a port channel/IP-hash config (where the whole reason for standby in the first place).  I'm quite right or completely wrong?  Later today, I want to test this is a lab while monitoring with top.

    img.jpg

With the default configuration in your example, the virtual machine-> Teddy assignment is when a virtual machine is running. In the case of a Teddy/link failure the VMs will be assigned to other natachasery. A standby NIC cannot be used unless there is a power failure.

  • Network of twinning with Port trunks to support the host ESX VShere 4 with several NIC for load balancing across a HP ProCurve 2810 - 24 G

We are trying to increase production of our ESX host.

How to configure the HP switch to support above connections.

    Pourrait

someone please help with a few examples on how to seup the HP switch.

Help will be greatly appreciated as we continue to lose tru RDP sessions

    disconnects.

    Best regards, Hendrik

Disabling protocols spanning-tree on the Procurve ports connected to the ESX host is going to promote a recovery more rapid port. Similarly, running global spanning tree is not recommended if you mix some VLAN iSCSI and data in the same fabric (i.. e. you do not want a STP process to hang storage IO). Spanning tree on your switches, look PVST (or Procurve BPMH) to isolate the STP VLANs unique events.

In regard to the load balancing is, by default (route based port ID) value algorithm requires less overhead on the ESX hosts.  You may not use LACP on the Provurve the lack of facilities LACP ESX. You must use "route based on the IP hash" sideways ESX and 'static trunks' on the side of Procurve. Unless you have specific reasons why your network need loads this configuration, I'd caution against it for the following reasons:

    (1) IP hash requires thorough inspection of packages by the ESX host, increasing CPU load as load package increases;

    (2) the static configuration puts switch physics rigid and critical ESX host port mapping. Similarly, groups of ports all will fail as the Procurve batteries for management only and won't be on switches 802.3ad circuits Group (i.e. all ports of a group of circuits must be linked to a single switch) - this isn't a limitation of the port ID routing;

    (3) K.I.S.S. love port ID mix of port ID, beacon probe and failover on the port assignments you will get segregation of the raw traffic without sacrificing redundancy - even through switches.

    I hope this helps!

  • Lighthouse of unusable probing with the IP hash load balancing.

I read this in one Web site, but I would like to know the reason for this?

Is it because the IP hash uses IP source and destination to select the path and so for the markup, it can only detect the failure of the link for one of the trajectory of two?

Is there some user guide of VMware or documentation that talks about what I can read on this subject?

Thank you and have a nice week,

  • VPN load balancing

    Hello

for Concentrators VPN load-balancing, a similar configuration must be to both devices. The master of the cluster config VPN concentrator push. for other members of the cluster, or must be manually?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Abu Alqader,

The decision to use load balancing or VRRP is a lot depends on your VPN environment.

Personally, I think that load balancing is good/ideal if you have a lot of clients VPN, for example > 500 users. With 2 VPN3K of load balancing, you can share VPN connectivity between the boxes and will not weigh 1 VPN unit at any time. Also, if one of these boxes is down, affected vpn clients can still connect to the other device. But you must configure the VPN backup server in all the software VPN Client to achieve configuration.

VRRP, however, has its own advantages. If the primary VPN device, all VPN Clients can still connect to a 1 modem router VPN, VRRP, allowing practically to the backup device to inherit/use primary/active VPN public IP (as the gateway). With regard to non max users, VRRP probably appropriate for the low-end model like 3005 (IPsec-200/50 clientless) & 3015 (IPSec 100/75 without client).

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/products/HW/vpndevc/ps2284/products_data_sheet09186a00801d3b56.html

However, the final decision depends on what option you feel better suite your environment. There is no right or wrong.

Pls rate if find you this post will help you.

  • TMS 14.5 and redundancy with F5 load balancing

    Hello

I'm looking in the installation guide for TMS 14.5 to design redundancy TMS with the F5 for one of my clients. I wonder if there is any requirement of specific network for the TMS1, TMS2 and F5 must be in the same VLAN or not. My client have a TMS with TMSPE and deploy the TMS Server 2nd in different data center and will use existing F5 load balancing. They cannot have the same VLAN as a current TMS server in the new data where 2nd MSDS server will be Center. Existing F5 load balancing is also, in the VLAN different already.

y at - there no specific review we need to take care of the redundancy?

    Thank you

    Chris

As the TMS 14.4, TMS no longer an active/active load-balanced mode and now works as active/passive.

You can find the details in the "Configure a redundant deployment" section of the Installation of TMS and Upgrade Guide (latest version 14.6 related).

As long as both devices are accessible (and your F5 can route traffic to each of them according to the needs), it does not matter what VLAN, subnet or a location that each MSDS server resides on.  Information of VLAN in the guide are just one example of how it can be configured in a simple load balancing scenario.

  • vRA 7 load balancing with embedded active / standby vRO

I have a vRA environment 7 with vRA HA devices that have integrated the vRO. I want vRO to an Active/Passive configuration, but when I do the load balancer declares the node with the vRO vRA Eve out of service.

It seems that between 6.2 and 7 that VMware has changed the vRA health check to watch/vcac/service/api/health instead of/vcac/services/api/status. This new target now fail because it shows a service as in offline mode. While it is fairly clean and is probably better than the old health check, it kills the idea of an active configuration / standby vRO.

Any ideas on how I can get around this? Thank you!!

The problem that you are facing is that devices of internal load balancing is managed by HAProxy. I don't have * think * that it promotes health checks, this is why active/active approach for vRO. I suspect that if you want to use Active/passive, you will need to switch to external devices.

  • Can we do vmotion between hosts with load balancing in network cards grouping different strategy.

    Hello

We are implementin new host in our Infra and do some vmotions between different groups. A group a host with balancing 'route based on IP hash. " Can we do Vmotion to another cluster where the hosts have different load balancing policies. In addition, if we change the policy on new hosts in furture of load balancing is loss of downtime or a package?

    Kind regards

    Vikram Kumar

First of all, no problem from VMs one ESX to another, they use different political Multipathing.

Second, if you use IP hash, it means you are using etherchannel (or LACP) on the physical layer - configuration/cancellation of the configuration that almost always require that the uplinks are not used by any VMs, so you have time to synchronize the physical and virtual configuration. It is not a time out, but you need to plan accordingly - all depends on your physical network capacity.

  • With OAM10g WebGate load balancer

    Hi all

I have two protected apache http server with 10g oam webgate, they work fine if I have access to the resource protected from the IP two webgate separately.

However, if I have access to the protected front load balancer IP address resource, the resource is not protected and no challenge/SSO authentication happens.

the load balancer will be distruibute request to the Apache server two webgate protected, and the end user can know only the dns name/IP address of the load balancer.

Should any configuration be done on the side of the OAM?

I tried to add the LB IP of the host identifier, but even he can't get works.

    Thank you.

Yes. the identifier for the host includes the webgate and LB hostname/IP.

The problem is solved, the cause is the LB before the application for application port 7003 directly rather than port 80 http.

  • Problem with load balancing

    Hello

I have a model SAN SUN 7117 and ESXi server in a HP DL120G6. The SAN has 4 of the NIC for iSCSI traffic and the ESX has 4 NIC, but only 2 NIC's for iSCSI. In the SAN, I configured an LACP aggregation with 4 NIC problem is that, in the ESXi, I see that only one NETWORK adapter works.

    What is the problem?

There are some screenshots of setting anchors.

If you need any screenshoot credit information ask for me.

How can I test and check that the load balancing is working correctly?

    Thank you!

As previous authors have written, so that the load with a vSwitch policies balancing offers you need more targets and virtual machines more (which is not the case that you use iSCSI).

Hash IP needs more targets to spread the load.

Check KB 1011340 and this article: http://vmetc.com/2009/08/12/vswitch-with-multiple-vkernel-portgroups-for-vsphere-iscsi-round-robin-mpio/

You will find a section he describe different storage vendors have different configurations on the LB on iSCSI, but it's the same with all providers:
