Feathers of selection + levels = transparency?

Hello!  I have tried to create a vignette to an image by creating a circular selection, then feather it and reverse. I then use levels to darken a bit, but as long as I have to feather the selection I get a transparent route along the selection, making me see the underlying layer. Is this a bug or I'm doing something wrong. I used this effect in Photoshop regularly and there it works fine.  Thanks in advance, Ronny

Thanks for reporting this. This is a bug and we it connected to our bugs system. To work around the problem, you can try to duplicate your layer first, and then apply the pen + levels to the top.

  • How to remove the selected area with a script that would ignore the fact if the selected area is transparent or the fact that it has no selection?

    Hello

    My friend works on an action, who would edit images by removing the white background color. However, there are a lot of images with transparent background or after some other actions have no selection who had to be removed. And now he is facing simple problem, simple remove this feature brings a lot of table and the error Stops.

    The ideal solution to this problem would be if it would ba a script who could remove the selection and ignore stops as no selection and transparent.

    Can anyone help with this one?

    Settle into the Photoshop scripts forum.

    With a script, you would just put your code in a try/catch block. This intercept errors such as the selection of a transparent area and do not stop your script:

    try{
         //your code here
         }
    catch(e){
         //either no code, or code to do something if you get an error.
    }

  • How to quickly select the pure transparency?

    Can you please help me to answer the question how do I quickly select transparency, excluding all the pixels that are in the picture? If I use ctrl + click on the thumbnail in the layers palette, it selects the transparency but also partially transparent pixels. I don't want that. I want to select the transparent space, excluding all partially transparent pixels. In other words, I have to select all pixels including these partially transparent and leave intact transparency. I know that I can use the magic wand and other tools, but I want to save it as an action...

    One of the possibilities:

    Load the selection as you can switch to the quick mask (Q) Mode, apply Image > adjustments > threshold with the correct value, exit Quick Mask Mode.

  • Select the menu level

    Hey,.

    I'm working on my last game that made me learn a lot about adobe flash.

    But I have a big problem!

    The level select menu...

    I want to do "this" code:

    1. first you select level 1 because this is the only level that is not locked

    2. you made it to level 1 and got 1 x piece that opens the level 2!

    I want my code to be like that, and I want to not be able to give the player a chance to level 1 more time to get more coins.

    1 room, each level.

    This code... I really want to be lazy and I would be delighted if someone could give me the code because I understand the code you give me, but he can not know me much tho.

    In any case if you people want to teach me this instead of just give me the code, I like some links etc about where I could learn it because I had a few problems... What do I need learn to do through, where I can read about it? etc etc.

    Hope for some nice answers and it's a major prodject for me and I'm really stuck atm and after that its pretty easy to do rest is quite well done.

    This should be:

    put the following two lines at the end of each level.

    _root. Counter ++;

    enableButtonsF();

    Place it under function on frame 1 of your fla.  do not change anything except to assign a value to levelNumber (the total number of levels)

    function enableButtonsF (): Void {}

    for (var i: Number = 1; i<>

    _root ["level" + i] true = false;

    _root ["level" + i] ._alpha = 50;

    }

    _root ["Level" + _root. Counter]. Enabled = True;

    _root ["Level" + _root. Counter] ._alpha = 100;

    }

  • Selection of not transparent and this article that makes the Image

    I struggle to find the most basic things. I'm sorry.

    I recalibrated a picture.  I now have a smaller rectangle of image with a transparent area surrounding it.  I want to take the entire (non-transparent) image and make the picture I want to work with.  But how?

    I want to remove the transparent area.  If I save the jpeg format, now I get a white collar.  I think there must be a way to select the resized/upscaled image - without resorting to a Manual Crop, New, copy, paste, etc.  I want just the image.  That is, select the non-transparent section in front of me.

    Any ideas?  THX.

    Note

    I think I can achieve this by using decode on select level, but I don't want to use decode...

    Hello

    You just do cc.description IN ("LTS", "DAN") is part of the outer join condition.  Here's one way:

    SELECT *.

    From case ca

    JOIN Orders oo ON oo.case_id = ca.case_id

    LEFT OUTER JOIN conditions cc ON cc.order_id = oo.order_id

    AND cc.description IN ('LTS', 'DAN')

    ;

    Out, as requested:

    CASE_ID CASE_ID ORDER_ID ORDER_ID DESCRIPTION

    ------- ------- -------- -------- ------------

    100 100 111 111 LTS

    DAN 100 100 111 111

    200 200 112

    What is the problem with DECODE?  As you can see, you need this problem, but if it was the easiest way and the most effective to get the results you want, why not use it?

  • How to fill the text with transparent areas

    I use Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 on Windows 10.  I am trying to create a transparent logo using fonts "Mister Vampire".  The text has some areas transparent I am filling to create a Chrome or gold.

    Here is an example of the police.  Any help is appreciated.

    Text Sample.JPG

    Several ways. You can use the magic wand tool to select the transparent areas in the text: use contiguous, then move click here to make the next letter. You should maybe put a white layer below the sample text and use all layers. Extend selection when done and fill a layer below the text with the desired color.

  • value of the level in hieararchical queries

    I'm trying to accomplish a well-known problem turn the channel with column separators.

    This is the query that I found when studying the field:

       SELECT level, regexp_substr(value, '[^;]+', 1, level) col
                FROM (SELECT 'val1;val2;val3' value FROM dual  )
                CONNECT BY regexp_substr(value, ';', 1,level-1) is not null

    Surprisingly, it works!

    LEVEL COL
    1val1
    2val2
    3val3

    The question is how we can use 'level 1' as a fourth parameter of regexp_substr in connect by if clause level value starts with 1?

    It seems to level 1 is equal to zero then, and the query is to break. In addition the following query

     select regexp_substr('val1;val2;val3', ';', 1,0) from dual

    Indeed falls with the error message

    ORA-01428: argument '0' is out of range

    Finally if I change the level setting, it works as expected assuming that level value starts with 1

       SELECT level, regexp_substr(value, '[^;]+', 1, level) col
                FROM (SELECT 'val1;val2;val3' value FROM dual  )
                CONNECT BY regexp_substr(value, ';', 1,level) is not null

    LEVEL COL
    1val1
    2val2

    Hope someone can explain to me how it works or share a link to the description of this query processing.

    You need to look at the complete picture. Hierarchical queries have 2 START WITH and CONNECT BY clauses. START WITH may be explicit or implicit. Implicit START WITH means build the hierarchy from each line. In any case LEVEL = 1 is to START WITH the line. LEVEL 1 > are generated by CONNECT BY. So LEVEL = 1 is produced independently CONNECT BY conditions. Hope it answers your question.
