Features of Windows is empty

I used the system with the CD restart tool, but not agree, I don't want to make another repair of format, I've done enough of them with Vista already in the year I've owned it.  There must be another way, and command promt with several selections of controls did not work, either.  WHO HAS ANY IDEAS.

The "Windows features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, or you receive an error message that includes the following code when you try to use Windows Update: "0 x 80073712".

Is Vista SP1 or SP2 installed?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • The "Windows features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7

When I click on turn on or off Windows features in the programs and features Control Panel, the Windows features dialog box is empty, no functionality is displayed. What should I do?

Thank you buddy, but sfc.exe/scannow not worked and I faced another error! (windows resource protection could not start the repair service).

    Finally, I found the solution:
    (1) If you receive the error "Registry space" low, set the size limit of the registry to "unlimited":
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
    Key: RegistrySizeLimit
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 0xffffff (4294967295)
    (2) restart
    (3) as administrator, open a command prompt and run "SFC/scannow". The command should complete successfully and when errors have been detected, they should be corrected.
Follow the steps and good luck!
  • Telnet is missing from the Windows features in Windows 7

I wanted to use telnet.  I went to the command prompt and enter the name of the telnet server.  He received a message indicating that it does not recognize the telnet command.  I thought that it had to be turned on in Windows (features) components.  I went to the Control Panel, get the programs, and then turn on or off Windows features enable.  Completely empty the box that opens.   There is no options to check or uncheck.  It is completely empty.  How can I get the Windows features in there?

  • Some features of Windows are not available.

I have an IdeaPad p580 and I noticed that a few basic functionality of windows are not available. I use Windows 7 Home premium SP1 and everything else is usually straight out of the box. I guess these are the basic features of windows because I learn about them in an intro to the class of Windows operating system.

When I try to use secpol.msc in the start menu, windows cannot find it, and also when I try to encrypt a file or a file this option is grayed out. I think Veriface is the encrypt function creep, or another software that is preinstalled is to play with things.

No idea as to what could be the cause? Is my book misleading me, I may get to such a different way?

  • How can I use the additional features of windows 8.1 license key

I bought acer E5 - 573 G-34QR (Aspire e 15) provided with windows preinstalled 8.1, I activated windows 8.1 but when I try to use additional features of windows 8.1 it ask for the product key.

It depends on what kind of functionality you are looking for.

Moreover, the license key is on your BIOS, so you don't need to activate windows.

here some difference on windows 8 versions, it's the same for 8.1:

All mentioned editions have the ability to use the language packs, which allows multiple user interface languages. However, in China and other emerging markets, a variation of Windows 8 without this feature, called Windows 8 unique language, is sold. This edition can be upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. [14]

  • I want to install the backup feature in Windows XP. The instructions say to put the Windows XP CD in the computer. I can only find the reinstallation CD "for XP Home Edition, including Service Pack 1" which is the correct CD or is there another?

This CD is the 'Windows XP' CD?  What he should say about it?  How CD supplied with Windows XP (my computer is probably 4 years old).  I need to install the backup feature in Windows XP.  I cannot find a single CD only and not know if it is right - it's the reinstallation CD.  I don't want to reinstall windows XP. I want to just install the backup feature.

    Hi AlexandraCALIF,

Thanks for posting. The XP CD that the system is referring to is your XP (maybe not the reinstallation CD) installation CD.  I would test of the first reinstallation CD to see if it has components which seeks the system. If it isn't you need to contact your manufacturer and get a CD of the OS on their part.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hello

    1. what exactly is the problem with Windows media player?

    2. do you get an error message?

You can not uninstall and reinstall Windows media player to turn Windows features on or turned off in Windows Vista, this option is available only in Windows 7.

  • Prefetch is just a feature for Windows programs, or work for 3rd party too?

My understanding of Prefetch is that it monitors the use of programs and try to anticipate when they could be used and so loaded them in memory, ready to go.

It is just a feature for Windows programs, or work for 3rd party too?

For example, I use OpenOffice and the first time I open it, it takes several seconds to open. If I close and open the program via a session then always opens almost instantly (about two or three seconds) so it must be in RAM somewhere. Yet every day the initial aperture is slow.

Is - not what Prefetch is supposed to address?

    Hi Mooly,

You can read the following article and check:

    What is the prefetch folder?
