Hello

Many systems have an internal WiFi devices power switch - some do not. You may need to check with
of your system and WiFi, their online documentation and their forums device manufacturer.

To be sure, it's not a part of the problem off the power to your Modem (and router if you use) and wait 3 minutes
then reverse - 1 Modem then router modem once up - computer restart.

Actually, try updating your driver.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • How do I turn on wireless turn off in the BIOS?

    Hello.

I'm totally new to more technical side of computers so please excuse me if I do not have much sense.

I just bought the Satellite P200 especially for an occasion of home business and there are several requirements that I am trying
to answer, but seem to be failing.
I presented a report of the laptop Belarc to society and they advised that in order to use this laptop that I
have my wireless turned off in my BIOS.

I have not the slightest idea what it means and what I have to do? I've read a few other subjects online which have lost some of
light, but I still do not know how to do and, if it is disabled does that mean I can use is any more?

Basically, I work online in my current line of work and use my laptop (with WiFi) for this but this other thing that I'm trying
getting in requires a disabled wireless network but I still want to use the wireless in my own time, is - it possible?

Thanks in advance for any help, that all the world can offer,

    Natalie.

I don't know if this feature can be disabled in the BIOS, in regards to my machine, you can't do that.

OK, understand your problem, or better, your company's security restrictions.
You can check if you can disable this feature by pressing F2 at startup to the top of your laptop. He enters the BIOS. There simply navigate a bit, if you can find something with disabling wlan.

But you could ask them if it would be ok. When you just turn off wlan using the hardware switch in the front of your machine.

To use wlan for private, you must activate it back, of course.

  • Tecra M11 - capacity wireless turns off by itself

I have a Tecra M11 who likes to turn off its wireless capability. It will sometimes go days without doing it, but for example today it did not less than 3 times. He's going to lose contact with my wireless network and when I go to reconnect I see that because the wireless feature is turned off there is no network available. When windows (windows 7 64 bit) allows to solve the problem, he tells me to "turn wireless capability" and if I jump it offers that I plug in an ethernet cable. I checked the physical switch on the front of the computer and also WiFi accessible by the Fn keys toggle switch, the two have no effect on the conviction of my computer that wireless capability is turned off.

My old tecra M9 has also done this, but I didn't expect my other (one month) to do the same thing. I can fix this problem by restarting the computer, but I'm looking for a permanent solution.

    Thanks in advance

    > My old tecra M9 has also done this, but I didn't expect my other (one month) to do the same thing. I can fix this problem by restarting the computer, but I'm looking for a permanent solution.

I think that this is not a problem of WiFi for laptop, but I think that it s related to the WLan router because you had the same problem with Tecra M9.
I recommend updating the firmware on the router first. In addition, you must reconfigure the router again. You will need to play with a different option like the use of different channels of WLan, Wlan encryption, etc.

  • Adapter wireless turned off suddenly on my Satellite A500

I have a laptop Satellite A500, on an old win7, a year and a half. Since the expiration of the warranty all started to go wrong and break spontaneously.

Last night, the battery ended his own life, and it will now work on the sector. As soon as this happened, the wireless adapter also stopped work, behave as if I had flicked the switch at the front. A small red cross is in the lower corner, saying: no connection is available. Troubleshooting the connection says that the wireless card is disabled. If I go into the properties of the adapter, it seems turned on, it says the device is working properly and "allow windows turn off automatically" tab in power options is not checked.

Is there anything else I can try? Buy a new battery would solve this problem?

    See you soon.

    * @ Wifi Kaputt *.
Seems you have corrected this and according to the last assignment, the WiFi network was not enabled correctly because the Fn + F8 didn t work properly so I agree with you: these two tools should reactivate the FN feature.

  • Pavilion dv6 Wireless turn off by itself

Pavilion dv6 1140ew with Windows 7. Each drivers are up-to-date. The system has been reinstalled recently so no virus is present.

And that is the problem. The computer turns off randomly wireless features. The blue light on the Power button tab will become Orange, as it has been disabled manually. I can't turn it on again for a while. Sometiems, it requires a reboot to re - activate. I found no specific reason why it happens. There is no model when it occurs. Sometimes during a movie, when the internet is not used at all. Sometimes during a game, online when it is certeinly. It takes 10 minutes to 2 hours to reactivate itself.

Would appreciate any help, as it is very frustrating.

    Hello Schanez,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that your wireless network is disabled and you want to prevent from happening. I'm you provide a document from HP support:laptops HP - Setup to solve Internet connection problems on a wireless network with Windows 7 and, which contains steps to help you solve this problem. I would focus on turn it off device power management section of the options I have installed wireless on below:

Most wireless devices can be configured to turn off the power to reduce the drain on battery power. This is usually not a problem when the laptop is connected to an AC adapter. However, during battery operation, the adapter can be turned off to save energy. To disable this power setting, follow these steps.

    1. Click on start and enter the device in the search box, and then select Device Manager from the list.
    2. Double-click network adapters to lengthen the list, do a right click on the adapter for wireless (WiFi) in the list and select Properties.
    3. In the map properties window, click the power management tab, and then deselect allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option.

Close Device Manager, restart the laptop and trying to reconnect to the wireless network.

Please re-post if you need extra support. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • T60p, T60 card wireless turns off by itself

Hello, any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a T60 and T60p, which have exactly the same problem. When connected wireless after 20-30 minutes the wireless adapter turns off itself. I loaded the drivers updated. I don't use dial-up connections, Windows XP manages the wireless profiles. I made sure that the computer is not stop the wireless card to save energy. I do not supply manager, but I installed the driver of power manager. The map stops and the wireless light turns off but windows will still say that I am connected through wireless. I hit FN + F5 and card status is disabled but I don't have the possibility to change it to on. It will not allow to do me anything. Also, when I close the lid it won't have to stand by mode. I have to do a full reboot to get the wireless operational return. Any help please, it's really annoying. Two laptops using the Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG card.

    Thank you!!

  • Laptop MSi S6000 Windows 7 (64-bit) wireless problem. Wireless turns off after fashion "Eve" and unable to understand how to change the settings.

I own a notebook computer MSi S6000 Windows 7 (64-bit). My problem is that any time that my laptop's sleep mode (when I close the lid or after inactivity) wireless connection is cut off the coast and in some cases the wireless card is cut. I end up turning on the wireless card with the

Function key F8 and then have to reconnect with my wireless network.

After "standby" mode, I have to reconnect to the wireless network (without turning on the map).

    ---

I have tried a number of measures to address this problem including uncheck the button 'turn off this device to save power' in the properties and made sure that my laptop ALWAYS connects to the network by making the #1 on the priority list and checking the connection to this network even when it is not being broadcast.

Yet I still couldn't remedy this solution.

Please help if you can. I appreciate your time in advance... happy new 2011!

  • Wireless turns off automatically when streaming long videos

I just bought my VPCEB23FM week last of Best Buy. I started watching some TV shows on hulu.com and if the tv episode is longer than 30 minutes, my wireless adapter turns off by itself.

I see this pop up on the bottom ball right telling me 'My Intel Pro Wireless' has been disabled and I can't just my wireelss switch works to bring it to the top. There is a large red cross where there is usually signal bars.

I have to restart my laptop or turn on/off the wireless adapter for back there only to make it happen as I resume watching the rest of the video.

It does the same thing for any other long streaming video on other sites.

I have already spent my standard wireless WPA2 to WPA with no improvement.

    Help, please!

Sony has suggested a reinstall driver for the wireless network card intel, but that has not worked. I fixed it myself by uninstalling Kaspersky Anti-virus. It seems to be perform smoothly so far (3 hours of three video streams simultaneously).

I saw some Kaspersky NDIS component installed on my wireless adapter and wanted to see if it was a culprit. Restoration of the system to pre-install point seems to have solved the problem (so far). I'll do more testing, but it looks promising.

I have Kaspersky AV google and found a similar question with at least another person who has received a big red X on his wireless adapter whenever he tried to download something or watch a video.

Anyone know how I can get ConfigFree to recognize my wireless card is turned on? Hello Lenovo Community!

    I'm running a Lenovo W510 4391-A72 Windows 7 Professional (x 86) SP1.

Recently, (thanks to sclexman for helping me) after the installation of System Update 5.05 and update all my Lenovo software, including Power Manager (6.65.2-> 6.66.1), the ability to 'Automatically power down from optical drive' is no longer available! Is there an explanation as to why this feature was removed?

If so, is it possible to restore this functionality?

    Thank you

  • New Toshiba wireless turns off the Internet (by Linksys WRT110)

I "ORDERED" a new Toshiba A660 (custom) yesterday. We have a DSL with Motorola modem and Cisco Linksys WRT110 router with a Cat5 connection.  For a brief period the Toshiba could access the Internet through the radio (I registered the computer and the Norton AntiVirus). Subsequently, I have 'enabled' or authorized the self-install Toshiba Bluetooth (built in, but, it seems, are not not in Device Manager).

Before the afternoon was over, I found that the Toshiba, with WiFi antenna 'on' effectively killed my Internet connection.  My Dell, which has been wired through the Cisco could not access the Internet; my Mac which works wirelessly, could not access the Internet.  When I turn antenna Toshiba wireless Internet access on the other two computers is restored within 45-60 seconds. This situation persisted after a 'Factory restore' procedure this morning, where the Toshiba killed our Internet access during or shortly after the part "desktop configuration" of restoring an hour.

Another call to and recall, Toshiba technical support gave rise to suggestions 1) I want to see if my computer breaks down someone of another Internet connection and 2) it must be Cisco.

The Toshiba behaves itself when it is connected to the Cisco via Cat5 (as long as the wireless antenna is not enabled).

For example, Cisco, do I need an upgrade of the router to prevent the Toshiba to kill my Internet connection?
