• LV2012 and Fieldpoint

  Hello:

  I use LabView 2012 (SP1), 5.5 Max, Windows 7 (64 bit) to update a file that uses a 1000 FieldPoint and 6 modules to get the data. I created a file, I can run in my system of development without problem. I create an exe and run it in my system it wokrs only ok no problems.

  I have create an installetion file to install the new exe in another PC that she'll be runnin on. The system is the same model as my Windows 7 development system, Max 5.5 with all the drivers installed. The the new exe installetion goes without any problems. Restart the new PC and run the new exe file, I get an error cannot read the field point.

  I check MAX, he sees the FP-1000 and all its modules very well, I run a reading in one of the modules it is suscefull reading.

  I found the problem and the solution.

  The problem was related to the port series. The reason for the question of the new exe file does not and the PC locked up do to the the fact that once the new starter program he spoke continuously to the FieldPoint causing a stack over flow wich locked in turn the PC.

  The solution for this was a simple use a USB (TrendNet TU-S9) serial adapter. Now the new program and the PC are working perfectly.

• error on execution of fpclose.vi when you use FP-1000 and two FP-TC-120 module

  I have an error that occur in my LabVIEW program by closing connections Point field.

  I use LV8.5 and im to connect to a FP-1000 (native RS-232 port) controller that connects to two modules FP-TC-120, under XP.

  The error I get is "error 33589' caused by 'FPClose.vi', is actually the second"FPClose.vi"that produced the error, as shown in the picture by the giant arrow. Strangely, there does appear to be an effect of the program and it runs and disconnects as should be, its mostly just bugging me.

  I can't find this error listed anywhere, I can't find a nice long list of errors.

  I have an insidious sense that when I close the FP read labels with the FPClose.VI I am actually closing connection to the PS module and therefore do not close the system as intended.

  I would be grateful is someone would instruct me as to the cause of the error, and what I should do to properly close the FP module.

  Well, I managed to get to the bottom of the problem, it was not caused by FPClose!

  Errors where of course be cascaded through FPClose and then the 'error' said that the source was the second "FP Close.vi" he did the second "PS Read.vi". The fact that the IAK was in a loop was not the cause of my problem, but it's a clear sign of poor programming!

  Error reading FieldPoint 33589 actually is that some channels are determined to be OpenLoop. In my case I had all the channels of the first bank connected to the K-Type thermocouples, but only 2 channels of the second Bank connection and so the error were raised in the second "read FP' and cascading to the second"FP close. " To consider an error is actually a misnomer because it is actually a warning and has no influence on the conduct of the program.

  I think that the original example I posted was written for LV 6.1 and FP 3.x. I updated my own example to update methods used in LV 2011 and FP 6.0.9, they run a lot smoother than the previous method. I hope this might help someone else in the future.

  To use fieldpoint, you need module time real LabVIEW and Filedpoint software driver.

  You said you use Fieldpoint 1000, what version of LV do you use? I ask because 1000 Fieldpoint only work up to LabVIEW 8.5 and earlier versions.

• Replacement of the FP-1000

  I have a module, FieldPoint FP-1000, which is grilled. The other modules connected to the FP-1000 works very well, but now they are useless.

  There are other products OR who can replace the FP-1000 and still can use modules such as FP-QUAD-510 and the like?

  Or I have to buy a new one or a SH one?

  Howdy,

  There are a few modules that can be replaced for the FP-1000 to work with FP-QUAD-510-FP-20xx or FP-1601, but you'll have to leave RS-232 or RS-486. Original FieldPoint is currently not recommended for new designs and we you recommend the upgrade to the cFP-1804 and cFP-1808, but you can still get a FP-1000. Please give your commercial technico a call by going to ni.com/ask so that they can discuss your options in detail.

• Replacement express VI to control FP-1000

  Dear members,

  I have an old field Point 1000 unit I want to continue to use for a simple control valves.  However, I wrote the original program of VI for the unit back in 2009 and the original express VI used to create the program is no longer in the following Lab View 2011.  Since I don't use a lot of Lab view, I need to relearn much of the interface format.

  I've attached a screenshot of the current VI.   Could someone give me a pointer on how to replace the express VI of fieldpoint?

  Yes - you need to install the FieldPoint LabVIEW drivers are supported.  This should be on the disk device drivers provided with LabVIEW 2011, or you can download it from: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2587/lang/en.  I don't know if FieldPoint installs by default when you install device drivers, you may need to select more precisely.

  Thank you for your help. I tried the maintenance of places without success. I have disabled xMarks, but it made no difference, I couldn't save all new bookmarks. I went on the site help above and deleted the "places.sqlite" file and recreates a new file, but it didn't work. I uninstalled Firefox full using IOBit Uninstaller and reinstalled, but I found this program does not delete the profile folder (used to have a checked during uninstall of Firefox, but it seems to have disappeared in the latest versions). The problem persisted.

  Finally, I took a screenshot of all my addons. Then, I uninstalled Firefox again, then delete the entire folder profiles (located very usefully described in the second link above https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Bookmarks+not+saved#w_fix-the-bookmarks-file )
  I reinstalled Firefox, reinstalled xMarks and connected and transferred all my favorites, I reinstalled all my previous addons and ALTO - it now everything works perfectly!

  I installed itunes on my Windows 7 laptop that I wanted to use some of my vast library (currently in Media Player wma format) on my iphone. Whenever I try to add a file (or folder) to the library, I get a message saying that itunes will convert to AAC, then a 1000 error message. When I click on the + sign, it displays a list of error - 54.

  What I have to uninstall itunes, or is there something blocking the conversion? Please help, I have worked on this for 2 days now!

• zero byte jpg 1000 files?

  I recently discovered 1000 of grayed out of jpg files in our user folder that tell all zero bytes and the claim was created in 1970 (not born then) and amended in 1984 (was in elementary school playing with Dataman.) Looking at the file name looks like that they are derived from our Photo/iPhoto library, although the file names one slightly modified. When I tried to put one in the bin I get this message

  "Some of the elements that you are moving are in use by another application. Move the items can cause problems with the application using them. Are you sure you want to move these items? ', although nothing seemed to happen when I did this and could then empty the trash.

  They don't seem to be causing no problem other than cluttering the folder of the user who is a pain.

  I wonder if it is safe to remove them and they came from?

  Try this:

  Quit all applications (not the Finder), even those in the menu bar if there are.

  Then sort the column 'genre', in list view Finder so that all .jpg files are together, select them all, move it to the trash.

  Restart the mac and empty the trash.

  There is a problem with the 64-bit, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers which causes the spooler crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:

  DeskJet 722

  DeskJet 810

  DeskJet 812

  Deskjet 820

  DeskJet 822

  DeskJet 1000

  The attachment contains a fix for this problem for Vista and Windows 7.

  [The patch does not work for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 x 64 systems.  There are efforts to this address, if a solution is developed it will be shown here.  [{Edit - I did not progress by getting the patch to run in Windows 8 x 64.}]

  First of all make sure that the driver for the installed printer.  If the driver has not been installed go to start devices and printers, add printer, the local printer, choose the appropriate port (for the converters, USB-parallel, the port likely USB001: or maybe USB002 :), then click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.)

  Apply the patch as follows: log in to the computer with an administrator account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the trombone at the end of this post.  Save the hotfix on your computer, then unzip it.  Then, copy the three DLL files in the following directory: %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3

  Note that %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems it will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, computer, and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it is in the right place.

  This can be done from a DOS command prompt if BACK is opened with the "run as Administrator" command or to explore with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings, you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow existing files to be replaced if you are prompted.

  This patch is not necessary and should not be applied to a 32-bit version of Vista or Windows 7.

  Update - here is that of the more detailed installation instructions:

  Download the patch on the DJ_Patch.zip at the bottom of the page and save it on your computer.  Now click on the file and open it, and then extract the fix in a directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative BACK prompts by clicking Start, all programs, accessories, and then right-click on CMD. EXE and select run as administrator. Click in the DOS window, and then type the following command:

  MD c:\temp

  CD \temp

  Now extract the patch files in the c:\temp directory (all, extract c:\temp chose as a destination).

  [Update - Windows security settings can prevent these files from being used, please open computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.]  If there is a message indicating the properties file has been downloaded from the internet and can be blocked and then unlock the file before continuing.]

  Then, click back to the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (the green stuff are comments, do not type them...)

  *. DLL DIR (just to check that the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others).

  Net stop spooler (ensures that the files are not in use.)

  Copy hpvdb720.dll C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)

  Copy hpvdb820.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)

  Hpwm5db1.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000 copy)

  NET Start Spooler

  [Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it's OK to replace the files, say "Yes".]

  At this point, the patch is installed and ready to print.

  Note that here printers do not support USB connections, they have only the parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer has a parallel port to use, it will be probably much less problematic than the use of a converter USB / parallel].   If you use a make you converter USB / parallel it is supported in your operating system.  The following messages are reported by cables USB-parallel that are supposed to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the converter USB / parallel besides the driver of the printer.  For converters supported, it is usually provided automatically in Windows 7.  Note: the appropriate to select for USB-parallel converter port is often USB001:.  I've heard of cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using is unable (after applying the fix) try to change the port by going to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties, then click the Ports tab.

  If you use Windows 7 do the following: log in as a user with the administrater properties.  [The following assumes that you are using IE as your browser] Click on the here link and select "Save".   Once the download is complete, select "Open folder", then right-click on the DJ_patch.zip file and select extract all.   If extract all is not an option, then click on "Open with" and select Windows Explorer.

  

  Leave the default directory and check the box "Show extracted files when you are finished", excerpt.   Click Start, computer, and type % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3.  Arrange the windows so that you can access the two parts of the window.  Go in the first pane and select the three files dll, hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll.  Now drag and drop them to the % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 window, select copy and answer to 'replace' in the dialog box.

  Note: %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the Windows directory.  For most systems it will be C:\Windows, but it can vary depending on the configuration of NDO of hardware configuration of the computer.  If you type %windir%\SysWoW64\cmd.exe in the address bar in Explorer or in start, search programs and files, it will find the right directory.
