• Expression box to control opacity other layers

  I do a model with several color schemes, and I would like to work back a little:

  Generally when I make a model, I have a demo with multiple background layers in it and I'm going to use a Null value in my main computer with an appropriate amount of control of Expression boxes to control the opacity of the respective layers BG - pretty normal stuff.

  The downside is that if I want to reuse this background layer in different compositions I have to duplicate and change the expression to match the location of the null whenever it moves.

  I would like to work backwards (if possible) and apply an expression to the box itself which refers to a single BG precomp. This way I can copy the null value to my 20 different model comps, while expressions always reference a single demo, allowing just copy me the value null of one model to another without ever having to change expressions.

  Is this possible?

  If I understand what you're asking, I don't think it will work because an expression affect anything except the property hosting the expression (the box itself, in your case).

• Replacement of motherboard of HP DV5-1000

  I accidentally spilled a drink on my laptop (DV5) - 1000 Intel.  I immediately turned it upside down, to let the liquid flow and close.  After cleaning, I restarted the laptop and everything was fine.  I thought I had all of the fluid out of there, but apparently not.  After about an hour of use, the laptop suddenly stopped as if the battery had been removed while running alternative.

  The power button on the laptop would not... no light, no action.  I disassembled the laptop (I did this several times before, to replace the broken keys - they wear out prematurely; now mostly use an external mouse) and discovered traces of juice dried on a small area of the motherboard.  With the help of buffers and rubbing alcohol, I carefully cleaned all messes, let it dry overnight, then reassembled.  Unfortunately, this failed.

  So, I have to assume that a component of the motherboard was short-circuited and is now non-fonctionnel, preventing the working laptop.  Frustrating to think it may be a single transistor that is the culprit, and I don't have the skills to troubleshoot it.  Therefore, the only hope is a new motherboard.  While I replaced front CPU and apply the thermal paste, I am a bit perplexed about how to deal with the GPU.

  Which brings me to my question...

  There are many slight variations with the cell phones of Pavilion DV5 series.  While many parts is compatible, I'm not sure about the motherboard once the appropriate processor is selected (AMD vs Intel).  He needs to be a very specific model?  There are several DV5 motherboard replacement parts available through various sources, but I'm not sure how small it is, once the CPU is put in correspondence. I have the impression that some may designed for specific GPU.  Mine has a 512 MB GPU nVidia.  But I do not know if it is possible to remove it and install on the new Board of Directors... They all come with a pre-installed GPU?

• Problems with the help of control Edit Expression with tab control

  Hi all

  I am facing a strange problem when using Expression Edit Control with a tab control.

  When I put the Expression of the RichEdit controls on several tabs in a tab control, and when I run the application, the Expression Edit controls in a single tab are visible, others get invisible! I do NOTHING with them, but they do not simply show upward!

  I first faced this problem using Expr editing controls in Visual Studio c#. NET - with tab controls. For verification, I created a simple VI is LabVIEW to see if the problem is with my request / problem with Expression Edit controls in c#, etc. But voila!  A similar behavior in LabVIEW too! 

  I'm doing something wrong? OR do not do something right? Ask someone for help please ASAP!

• hard drive failure and replacement of the laptop pavilion dv6-1000

  It seems that the hard drive has failed in the laptop.  When I run a test gives me a message 3f0 and hard drive does not exist.  Tried to start the repair system and the operating system not found.  Would fix with the image of the system.  No found boot device.  Conclusion: new hard drive required.  The laptop drive is a seagate momentus 320 GB 5400,6.    Do I have to replace it with a new seagate or can I use a Western Digital with the same 320 GB, 5400 rpm?  Thank you in advance.

  WD should be fine and if you want to use a disc 7 200 RPM faster seek time (at a small cost of battery life between charges) you can go with this too.

  You are most likely out of luck. No matter when you're writing a long message, once you start it and type a few words, you must file. Save as to save what you have started. After that, the file | Save or Ctrl + S each paragraph or so update the recorded message. If you do not do this, nothing is saved when something like that happens.
   
  It's the same with many e-mail clients. Thunderbird has an automatic backup every X minutes option. OE has never had such an option.

  OK, that all of these are specific to the series of VCS, while the freeway series does not have the provisioning and FindMe, it also has a system of license different call where it is a type of single license unlike licenses non-parcours course you have with VCS.  The

  I have a Toshiba Satellite m115-s3094 notebook. It came with the express media player feature. It worked when I ordered my playlist in windows media player 11.

  Today, the controls do not work at all.
  The two buttons above the controls (Internet and Media player) are fine, but I can't control the media player with the express media player controls.

  I've switched back to wmp 10, but I can't control it yet. I don't know if the express media player controls can control Media Center or not because I never tried to use it in media center, but the controls don't work not in media center either.

  I use a lot of these controls, if anyone can tell me how I can solve this problem.

  Have you received a recovery CD? This CD contains the operating system image that contains all the drivers, tools and additional software. Just starting this announcement from CD, you will get full functional OS.

  I'm really appreciate the inclusion of regular Expressions in the search and replace functionality. One thing miss me that East of backreferences in the replacement expression. For example, in unix tools vi or sed, I could do something like this:
  

   s/\(firstPart\) \(secondPart\) \(oldThirdPart\)/\2 \1 newThirdPart/g 

  that allow me to switch the places of first and secondPart and substitute totally thirdPart. If grouping and backreferences are already present in the window replace text, how do you properly call them?

• express problem airport works as a wired wifi Extender

  I have TW cable for internet in bridge mode and not as a DHCP server.  This is directly related to the port WAN to a time capsule extreme Airport (1-2 years).  The time capsule has a link to 16 port 10/100 netgear switch to one of the LAN ports.  About 3 weeks ago, I added 2 new Airport Express to expand the wifi of my very large House.  I ran the hard lines to the Airport Express as well.  Each express is set to bridge mode and just to extend the wifi network.  The extreme time capsule is the DHCP server.  Everything works fine as long as the couple declares itself to the extreme to the wifi, but this does not solve my problems of scope and speed on the other side of the House that expresses it is installed to cover.

  Problem: When it expresses the airport is not connected I get a ping void 5ms from a computer on the local network to express it and extreme.  Once I Plug one of them in the cable system my time to ping for all devices are very erratic.  From time to time they are in the range 1-10ms, but more often they are in the range of 1-2 seconds and exhale.  Once, I disconnect or hard of the line time to ping back to normal within 5 seconds.

  Troubleshooting attempted so far: even once, I connected one or the other of expresses it to the hard line the problem occurs.  Disconnect it and connect the other the same thing.  Connect them directly to the Airport extreme still same thing.  Connect the express directly to a PC and run ping test, void 1ms response times and no change for the rest of the devices.  Ethernet connected to the WAN port of expresses it instead of the LAN port same question.  Repunched and re made the end of the cable used to one of them, same problem.  Called Apple and they told me it should work, and provided with additional troubleshooting.

  Firmware on all the devices have been updated about 3 weeks after I got them stable on wifi.  Unfortunately I do not have the written down version, but they are all on the same version now.  All devices have a green light on them when just using wifi to talk to the extreme.  When wired in airport utility devices drop the GUI are available intermittently and back.

  Whats to test I can think of to the left: replace the extreme airport time capsule.  Replace expresses it.  Wipe off the network completely and start over from scratch with a factory reset complete.

  Any help would be appreciated, I am amazed as to why it does not work.

  Each express is set to bridge mode and just to extend the wifi network.

  And this... extend the WiFi network... is the problem.  When the Express is configured to "extend a wireless network", it waits a connection without wire of the main router. When an Ethernet signal is applied, this translates a huge feedback loop blocking, network.

  Start over and do a hard reset on each of the AirPort Express devices

  Then for the Setup, use a short piece of spare Ethernet cable... any length will do... and plug it between a LAN port <>- on AirPort Extreme on the "O" WAN port on the AirPort Express Terminal

  Don't forget to make the Ethernet connection before you try to implement the Express. In this way, the "Wizard" will pick up the Ethernet connection and apply the correct settings for the Express installation.

  Use "Wizard" Apple's Installation in AirPort Utility to configure things. When you do so, you will notice that the final configuration screen will indicate that the AirPort Express is set up to "extend with Ethernet', who must confirm that the correct settings apply to the Express.

  

  The first Express is now properly configured. It turned off and move it to the remote location where it is needed. If your Ethernet cables and the Ethernet switch works correctly, so too the Express will work properly.

  Implement the second Express exactly the same way as the first, except him give a different device... as Express2 name, for example... to keep things straight.

• 3 MainStage mapping expression midi pedal

  MainStage 3 question. I recently redesigned my guitar rig to include some pedals in a rack drawer that I can control via my midi controller (Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro). I decided to add my M-Audio M-Track to the rack so I can use virtual effects and plugins with MainStage. Everything works so far impressive and I get some really great sounds without my pedalboard full so it will make for a small backup/repetition plus platform.

  One of the patches that I'm working on now is going to be big ambient swells. I use the plugin Shimverb of Valhalla (awesome plugin, especially at this price!) and I'll probably add some digital delay him as well.

  I want to use my expression pedal (Ernie Ball Volume Pedal Jr.) via the sockets of the expression on the ground control to control the volume for this patch. I got this to work with a little trial and error. The problem is that when I use the expression pedal to control the overall volume of the patch is. I want to control my entry level so that when I lower the volume with the exp pedal the reverb and delay continue to ring. I see a parameter in the assignments and Mapping tab labeled 'entry level '. I think this would be the parameter I want to exp pedal control. The small icon next to him has a lock on it and I can't adjust the settings. I think this one is set up for more like a toggle switch rather than a signal that sweeps a range.

  So, basically, I want to control the volume of my patch before it hits the plugins/effects. Is this possible? It seems that it shouldn't be that hard to make it work. When I select "input volume" I don't have any options to change anything.

  I found a way to make it work. I will post it here in case someone else has a similar problem. I added a plugin to 'gain' on the front of the signal chain for the patch then assigned the expression pedal to adjust the level of the plugin. Min value to something like 96 db and max has the value 0. Works perfectly for what I needed.

• Upgrading vs replacing p6310y

  I have a p6310y with AMD Athlon II X 4 630 Quad Core processor, 6 GB of DDR3 RAM, disk of 1 TB, NVIDIA GeForce 9100 integrated, Win7 Home Premium 64 - bit.  All the standard stuff that accompanies it basically.

  When I run the Windows partitions, everything is higher than a 7 with the exception of the hard drive, which is to a 5.9.  In addition, it's the model based on many other forum posts (and apparently those who have discovered fortunately still under warranty got replacements) where the speed control has this issue reports defective or actually causing bad blocks.

  We've had the machine for a while now, but I wonder if the perfect fifth replace the hard drive, or maybe switch to a faster drive mounted would somehow worth the money, or if it is better to simply record a little longer and replace the entire unit.

This is exactly how many people do.  The diskette of starting with the operating system and programs will stimulate your WEI above a 7. My 256 GB drive is the boot drive and there are two disks of spinner inside your box.

• mxi express boot

  I have a system with a PXI 1085 and a NI SMU-PCIe8371, NI SMU-PCIe8372 PCI Express control of PXI Express, which was controlled by a Dell Precision T5600 with Windows 7 and a NVIDIA Quadro 2000 graphics card.  I had installed the software compatibility MXI and things worked very well.  I could see in MAX and use the cards in the chassis.  I decided to upgrade the 8371 to the 8381 (SMU-PCIe8381 NI, NI SMU-8384 PCI Express (x 8 Gen 2) control of PXI Express).

  I put 8381 in x 16 slots empty (there are no x 8 slots on the motherboard).  When I turn on the computer, if I have the chassis connected monitor does not display anything and that even if the computer gets power, he does not seem to start, if I unplug the chassis, then the computer starts very well.

  In a similar thread user deleted all cards except the MXI Express card and it worked, I tried to remove all of the cards in my chassis, with the exception of the SMU-8384 (of course) and I still have the same problem.

  This gives a test:

  #2 case, install the latest version of the software compatibility MXI, reboot and try again.  The thought here is that it is possible that if you have installed this software there are long enough (several months) that you are on a version of the software which does not support the 8381.  The latest version should work fine.
