  I have a few questions about the FIFO VeriStand in a custom device asyncrounous.

  I saw a post earlier where a - 1 to the function of reading of FIFO of RT for him to wait indefinitely for an item to enter the FIFO.   Hi B,

  If you look at the RT VI pilot generated from custom device model you will see exactly what is happening. If you set the time-out for the reading of FIFO-1 then the botton loop will be essentially suspended unless there are items to read in the FIFO. Meanwhile, the thread will always be active because the RT read that VI is querying data during the time specified in the timeout.  I don't think that there is a way to change the FIFO mode to blocking since the dismissal of the FIFO is spent Veristand engine to the RT VI driver.

  

  The PCL writes and reads data from and to asynchronous custom FIFO device at each step of the execution. In your custom device, you can configure to read and process data of the 1000th step. I don't see any problems with it.

  You can have a FIFO for input channels and a FIFO for the output channels. You can write to an output channel given by writing data in a function index element in the output array that is passed to the function RT FIFO Write.

• Using global variables in a device custom

  I have problems with the passing of data through my device customized using global variables. I want to allow a user to select a RIO device address when you set up the system definition file. This is recorded in a global variable using the hand Page VI. I would later use this RIO device address in RT driver to deploy a bitfile. I can hard-code, but it is much more convenient to use a global.

  When I try to store the address of the global variable, it updates the value temporarily (I confirmed that the structure of the event recognizes the change of value). When I click the node of the tree to define system linked to the Main Page VI and then click on it again, the hand Page VI runs again. I wrote the code to repopulate the address of device of RIO with the last value stored in the global variable, but it is empty. I've included the VI global variables in my build, so I can't imagine why it can reset this value.

  Have you tried to use the custom device properties to store this value instead of GVs?

  Configuration VI, you can set this property, and if I'm not mistaken, you can read these properties on the RT driver.

  I assume you have copied only the model (Graph - Graph.vi 3D) display in folder view models?

  If so, the problem might be related to missing dependencies of your view model. I suggest that you create a distribution source of your view model and try again.

  We are currently implementing a custom for Veristand MODBUS device. We have a .vi work for the modbus data reading.

  What we want to achieve is a request / type of the sequence of stimulus response, read various registers based on their ID to register.

  Based on the record, we don't need to read them all from time to time.

  Based on what I read so far; using channels seems a bit convenient to do so. My new approach is based on the creation of a personalized workspace component where I am able to communicate through the "Send custom device message. This allows me to make the request / response approach type.

  However, the problem seems that connect to the executor of the sequence in real time. Someone at - it a good way to do this? Either by sending the message from device customized directly from a sequence in real-time, using the variables in the workspace?

  The other alternative is to establish a path that tells the engine of Veristand RT when to ask, and if a response is present.

  The problem is that the sequences in real time are run directly on the target, they have no connection with the workspace.

  I would say to that approach custom device string is the only. Your custom device isn't required to read all records periodically, just create channel 2 outputs and 2 inputs,

• Measuring FIFO device

  I have a custom device which initializes without problems, but I can't understand how to use at run time. I used the Inline HW model to create the device. The definition of system deploys on the FPGA target, but I can't read or write to the FIFO. For the purposes of learning, I write just three constants true that activate the three LEDs chassis. When I deploy to the target, the lights are not upward.

  I created a VI using similar code that doesn't use VeriStand. The difference is that I use a while loop to read and write items FIFO in functional VI, while the generated custom device a model pilot VI that uses a case structure and an enum to determine its mode. I have to do something wrong... does anyone have pointers?

  But I am not able to understand the device exactly how custom runs.

  What value should be passed to the ' point device Ref in "initializing VI. ?

  Is there a specific document I can get the exact flow of execution of the custom device?

  I want to create customized by program channels, sections of the device by reading file... This code, I wrote it in the VI initialization. But when I run this VI I get the error message like "item does not exist. Somewhere I am doing wrong as I am not aware of the exact flow!

  Hi all

  I need some advice, my laptop did direct me to this Web site to help. So here's my question.

  I have windows 7 Home Edition (HP pavilion dv5 Notebook PC)

  OK, I know that my computer is working, but I've had my laptop on and my cell phone hooked to "charge only", well the computer is dead, but I forgot to unplug my cell phone (phone is fortunately very well) but I do a lot of sync'n with my USB cable for my cell phone to get on my phone/SD; mainly for music and make mp3 ringtones and sometimes to charge the phone. Well, as I noted above, shut down the computer because the battery is dead. I turned on it, and since I forgot to unplug my phone at least he tried to start but in my terms confused my computer that my phone is a Smartphone device. Okay, well I turned off my PC in now the switch because she says "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key"; Well, I decided to see if I hit any key and it will repeat you above the quote above my laptop friendly said: * sigh *.

So I'm back to the system of diagnosis, but especially in red says: Failed "Test at startup '; "Boot device not found" (03F0).

  Now, I'm a little frustrated!

  I hit the running F3 Test then and the results of that are: (in yellow) passage of Test of memory and hard drive are not. Then I hit new ESC to continue towards the System Diagnostics. Yet once the top red appears indicating the Failed "Test running" and "Boot device not found" (03F0).

  Then, I hit F4 hard drive Test and the results are: (in yellow) hard disk not exist. Yet once I hit ESC to continue towards the System Diagnostics. And at the top in red: Failed 'Test drive' and 'Boot devicd not found' (03F0).

  In general, my memory on this laptop is awesome. With Test at startup and Test running in the System Diagnostics.

  So I hit the F11 Error Log and it displays a newspaper with results and time, but for me I get 03F0 about 14 times, then under that result on 6 times displays - No Data-. Yet once hit ESC to continue. Press ESC to exit the diagnostic system.

  Which brings back me to the screen with: no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.

  Once again, I have to ctrl + alt + del again and press ESC twice. Return to the Start Menu. Press F1 Information System; He traveled. Press ESC to continue to the Start Menu. I hit F9 Boot Device Options. In the Boot Manager screen, it gives me only a single item under Start Menu Option: drive internal DVD ROM (press ENTER to continue. Well, hit enter to which takes back you to the screen with the bootable device No. screen; then ctrl + alt + delete once more and press ESC twice.

  Return to the Start Menu once more. This time I hit F10 BIOS Setup; InsydeH20 Setup utility. Now, it provides information on hand. If anyone needs to know, I would gladly go overboard. Following (left arrow) security - this area is very good; Click Diagnostics - hard primary Office Self Test - enter blue box appeared to remind me of hard drive are not; Click ok. Went ahead and did the memory Test: submenu guest memory Test: Yes - memory... running test: results - test run of memory; Press enter for ok. Press the arrow key to the left above the System Configuration: everything is enabled, but down below > Boot Options: now under Boot Options: some options are disabled and some are activated. The characteristics of disables are HP QuickWeb, diskettes; start, & Internal Network Boot Features enabled are just the boot CD. Then below it is written > Boot Order (left alone because the only option is to Boot CD/DVD in this Menu in the Start Menu.) Press ESC to exit the Configuration of the system. So, I left it alone as I just watched: mainly looks like default settings anyway. So, I left arrow match over output; Scroll to exit discard changes; as I don't change anything. Except run a test. But this test would not give me the ability to run fast or full test on your drive (mine) (call it disappeared). Then I hit enter on ok on the scrapping of output changes. And return to the screen: no boot device.

  I'm not a happy camper; I'm not too good, but I'll let you know what I tried of running things. I know that my hard drive works (a fairly new) and I have not had problems, but my extended warranty is gone? Idk how long these things last, Wal-Mart gave me two years, manufracturer gives you a year, so idk if is only one year in both or if its technically 3; but the extension has been through Wal-Mart plan. I wonder if it is not repairable if this need to come back cause they fixed some time ago and now idk if I'm possibly covered. I mean no, but idk. Anyway, back to my line of what I was doing.

  Then ctrl + alt + delete again hit ESC twice more, back to the Start Menu. F11 Recovery System - results from a click on F11 took back me to the no bootable devices screen, argh!

  When I restart my computer laptop ctrl + alt + delete: appears the HP logo (which when I hit ESC, the 2nd time cause it goes pretty quickly and automatically take me to page of bootable device No.)

  Back to ctrl + alt + delete and click F9 Boot Manager and insert the Windows® system recovery DVD 7 Recovery Media for Windows 7 products disc 1 of 2 in my disc drive, or I can insert the disc and reboot in this way. So yes, I have both recovery disks 1 and 2 and an Application and a recovery of the drivers CD.

  So after I insert the disc I hit enter on the CD/DVD-ROM drive internal and click on enter once it is in place.

  This is the beginning to the disc; Windows is loading files... (white bar) as when he is finished he will set out starting Windows with the logo; Press on a white background with BACK flashing in the background because it seems that its loading, my caps lock flashes on and off during this process. On oh less then 20 seconds and box appears: title: reducer the yellow triangle with '! ' which, in the center of it on the left. on the right, he said: narrow Application [Info] No. HDD. And so I click ok and it turn my laptop OFF completely. At this point, I turn it back on and let the disc again, but I get the same results. The mouse pointer is displayed and is usable as well.

  I even tried the Application and Driver recovery CD and it wouldn't even read restart my PC while the CD, but it does not work! Back me to the terrible no boot device; even using F9 when you restart with ctrl + alt + del I get the same results.

  Well, now, back in the day if that were to happen or something easily fixable, I hit F8 SEVERAL times before start up, but has no effect. I think perhaps, safe mode delete virus or something, I don't remember which OS, but honestly I think F8 was one who responded after u turn it on.

  Here's my problem! I have the right and any recovery disks, just do not know what on the HARD drive, floppy, etc... I know that is when the laptop battery is dead and I shot it accidentally while this was connected.

  Advise is NECESSARY, I can't fix my PC, and usually I can and fix it. But I am concerned by this error 03F0. So I apologize for the long post and I was wondering one of computer experts you could lend me a helping hand, I got the recovery directly from them discs.

  Thanks for the detailed report.

  The key is that the hard disk of your laptop probably doesn't and should be replaced.

  Whether or not it is under warranty will be to you and HP/Wal-Mart to sort.

  I would start by Wal-Mart if they gave you an extended warranty.

  It is difficult to say what caused the problem with the hard drive. The most likely cause is the heat.

  It is also difficult to say how long a laptop hard drive should last, because it depends on how much you use the laptop, how long you use it at the time, and the amount of heat is generated.

  It is not unusual for a hard drive on the laptop to fail after a year or two if under heavy use and high calorific power.

• Cannot start device - ASDM question Manager

  I have recently updated our router to spare ASA 5510 to version 9.1 (3) with image ASDM Version 7.1 (5) 100.

  The customer I try to run the ASDM launcher on Windows 7 x 64 is the latest version of Java (updated 7-5).

  I am able to do at the hand of the screen when I have https to the device.  I can install the ASDM launcher, but as soon as I get the host name and the password I have the following error "could not launch 192.168.X.XXX Device Manager."

  I went through a checklist and I can confirm the following:

  -3des-sha1 license is activated

  -Http server is enabled for my customer subnet

  -ssl encryption is enabled

  -Tried Firefox and IE10

  When I try to run the ASDM via the browser I go as far as to ask for the password, and although the initial prompt seems to accept it, an another authentication box will appear asking you to do this over and over again in an infinite loop.

  I have lived through many forum posts and checklists, but I can't seem to identify this problem.

  If it helps, the box was already flashed back to factory default before I then applied the configuration from scratch (depending on the configuration of our live cam ASA 5510).

  Can anyone help please?

  Alongside this, there should be a user name and password in the local data base of the SAA. Then try to configure command, then check:

  After this attempt to access two cisco ASDM with username and password and check if it works or not.

• Cisco ACS 5.2 with NX - OS (Nexus) devices user - questions

  Hey, I have a really strange problem with Cisco ACS 5.2 and Nexus NX - OS devices.

  I create an account on ACS, let's call him User1 and give privilege 15. With User1, I am able to access on all our IOS, IOS - XE, ASA and PIX devices with privilege 15.

  When I use the User1 account in our NEXUS devices, I do NOT receive the access privilege 15. As you probably know, the NEXUS devices have roles: predefined or custom roles. So I assumed I would get the role of "network-admin" (15 private read/write) User1 when you connect, but instead I got the role of 'vdc-operator' (private 1 read-only).

  Then I tried to twist User1 and give network-admin under profile Shell > Custom Attributes. I logged in the NEXUS and of course I was able to get a network-admin access. However, my access to ALL other devices (IOS, ASA, PIX, etc.) does NOT work! I am not even able to connect with my login and my password for these devices.

  Has anyone ever experience this problem? Help, please!

  This is a common problem when you mix with RBAC and IOS devices authorization policies, the pair av that you created must be set 'optional' instead of 'compulsory', please make this change and you will be able to access all your devices.

• Cisco NAC device filtering question

  Cisco NAC provides support for devices such as printers, IP phones, UPS failure, etc. by adding them to a list of filters.

  This allows these devices to bypass basically the NAC system and is only available on the network.

  My question is this. If exempt us these devices of the NAC evaluation, where is the security? What prevents a person to set the MAC address of the printer using a laptop?

  Well Yes, it was a big critical with the NAC device out of the box. There is no way to prevent the usurpation of MAC. Cisco has another device called parser SNAC, that solves this problem, but it costs extra.

• "Other devices" yellow question marks

  In my quest to have sound on my computer, I noticed that everything on my "Other devices" tab in "Device Manager" has the yellow question mark next to them. I have a "Biometric coprocessor" "Network controller" "Controller of Bus SM" and a "Unknown device" tab listed here. Should I be concerned by these? And, if so, is this another driver issue, as if the sound was? Thank you for your time and this is my specifics.

• Keyboard shortcut for an Export Preset Custom question

  Here's my question that I can't find an answer in the forum.

  I'm in grid mode, I use the painter to the gun to paint on the presets.  Now I have a single predefined custom export image I would like to use to export the images I added a custom wait - all by keyboard shortcut.

  Is it possible to use a keyboard shortcut to apply to a custom preset?

  I do not see that you can use the keyboard shortcut for 'export' previous and I see that I can right click and down to my presets, but I would like to be able to select my specific predefined export and apply a keyboard shortcut to this one in particular.   Is there a way?

  (When I try to use export with previous for some reason, it seems by default not preset I wish.)

  I use Lightroom 5; on a mac.

  I really like the features of Premiere Pro or Photoshop where you can shortcuts for custom game, can this feature please be brought to Lightroom?  Or maybe there is already and I'm missing?  Thanks for the help

  There is no provision to customize keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom.  The option "export with previous" refers to the previous export Setup, not the last develop used preset.

  Hi gurus of Labview:

  It could be a very simple question for you guys, please provide some tips.

  Here's my scenario measure: I need monitor output of the sensor which is a signal voltage (to AI0), I just need to get the voltage reading when I get a trigger signal to axis to another (PFI0). I would like to save to a file .txt with the news. on the value of the voltage and the time stamp of each measure. With a simple while loop and the DAQ assistant, I can get the measure to start when a trigger is detected on the PFI0, however, the measure will now continue to operate after that. Instead, I want the system to measure a voltage value, then wait for the next trigger signal. I'm pretty new to labview, so it will be very appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction.

  OK, after reading this link given above about 1 sample (timed HW) I think that what you really want is continuous samples with the sample on your external clock clock.

  Apparently there is no buffer with the 1SHWT (I'm short hand here).  If you miss one, you get the overflow error.  That tells me your loop is medium to slow or your pendulum goes faster than you think.  By going with continuous samples, you will not have to worry about this.  You can simply take as much data as you want and save the heap in the file.  This will make things work a little easier.
