File Browser dialog box

What is the entry type to use if you want a file browser dialog box?  There are a lot of default workflow that requires you to type in the exact file path so that it would be easier to navigate to it.

I have tried many of them, but nothing seems to work.  Please help.  Appreciate your help.

Entry type MimeAttachment will open a file browser window. Note that it is oriented on the content focus on place. in other words, you'll be able to get the contents of the selected file, but not the directory where it was loaded from.

There is also a type of file , but it is used in the scripts, not as input type.

  • Can not enter wildcard (*) in the file selection dialog box when opening a file

    It's something I've not seen before. I posted this question in the forum Autodesk AutoCad LT five days ago, but I got no answer at all. Because I'm not sure whether it is a Windows or a problem with Autocad, I thought I'll try to post here, too.

    On one of our AutoCad workstations, when you open a drawing, we cannot enter a wildcard character (*) in the file selection dialog box to help unravel the drawings.

    In other words, say there are 10 versions of a drawing with the number 5008. I should be able to enter the 5008 * and just see these ten designs. On this computer, when I try to type an asterisk (*), I get this error message: invalid character. The following characters are not allowed in file names: \ /: *? "<>

    Now, I know that they are not allowed... but I don't mean to create a file name. I'm just trying to classify them. On our other RTE Autocad workstations, the wildcard character works fine.  What's up with this one? Y at - it a setting or a variable that controls this?

    Thanks - Kevin

    Hello

    ·         The problem occurs with any other application?

    It may be some setting in Auto CAD, which raises the question, and its best you seek help from experts in DAO automatic.

  • My 'File Info' dialog box is somewhere lost in the space of display-MAC... Help, please

    Hello

    I tried to open my 'File Info' dialog box and it opens, because I can't click or do anything else, but he is nowhere to be seen. I googled this and found that I could remove "DVADialogPrefs.xml" to help solve this problem, but it did not work for me. I also found this re - configure my screen arrangement might help, but that did not help.

    I know that I can add it in the PDF file after export, but its an extra step.

    Can someone out there help me out?

    Much appreciated!

    Hi Andre,

    Please try uninstalling InDesign with preferences app delete and install again.

  • File navigation dialog box always returns the application folder, not the one I selected

    My script uses a hardcoded destination path to save files. I want to make it more flexible with a file navigation dialog box.

    The function of file selectDlg seems obvious, but it always returns the location of the folder of Photoshop, not the folder I chose in the dialog box.

    For example:

    var outputFolder = Folder();

    outputFolder.selectDlg ("output :"); folder

    $.write (outputfolder);

    Expected:

    My JavaScript console must declare the file I selected in the system dialog box.

    Actual results:

    Regardless of the folder in which I select in the dialog box, it returns always like:

    /c/program%20Files/Adobe/Adobe%20Photoshop%20CC%202014/tmp00000001

    The directory path is where Photoshop is installed on my computer. The tmp00000001 file seems to come.

    Am I missing something obvious?

    var f = Folder();
    var outputFolder = f.selectDlg("Output folder:");
    $.write(outputFolder);

  • How do you remove the watermark preset in the file &gt; export dialog box?

    I'm new to Lightroom, but so far I like it. However, I'm trying to figure out how to remove the watermark preset in the file > export dialog box. I have some that are duplicates.

    Open the Preferences of Lightroom window and select the Presets tab click the button labeled "Show Lightroom Presets folder...". It will open a window of type OS containing folders. Find the folder named Lightroom and it contains, you should also find a subfolder named 'Watermarks'. Your presets watermark must be in this folder.

  • How can open 3GP video, I remove Open or save for a device browser dialog box?

    How can I design the following?

    A user clicks on a link video 3GP appearing open using the browser on the device:

    private void launchBrowser(int browserType, String url) {
      BrowserSession browserSession = createBrowserSession(browserType);
      browserSession.displayPage(url);
      browserSession.showBrowser();
    }

    The browser opens, but the user sees a dialog box with the instruction 'do you want to open or save the item?' more open, save and Cancel button.

    If the user selects open, the 3GP file plays without problem.

    I would rather 3GP just play the video to the user.

  • DIAdem - import programmatically .csv files with. STP file without dialog box

    Does anyone know how to import programmatically with a .csv files. STP file without opening the import box dialog box every time?

    I've been through the forum and seen for .xls files and solutions through the help file which is recommended to use the ExcelImport command, but these do not seem to work for .csv file types.  I am currently using the DataFileLoad command to import the files, which works very well to load the .csv files, but it forces me to go to the. STP file for each file.

    Does anyone know a better way to import a file .csv programmatically?

  • File Express dialog box won't let me enter the new file name

    I try to use the writing of XML file.vi to write a file which may be an existing file, but it may be new.  I would like to than the default to provide so that the user can simply click OK.  I would also like to provide my own text to the top of the window.

    Writing to an XML file is not enough entries to do so I thought I'd use the Express VI from file dialog box to do this.  I provide the startup path and the default name etc.  But when I run my VI and type a new file name a window pops up saying: (new name of file) file not found.  Please check that the correct file name was given.  Ok.

    I don't see any way around that.

    Any help much appreciated.

    You must configure the express vi to allow selection of new files

    Hello Arun,

    Thanks for posting back.

    If you have successfully transferred your files and they are stored in a location on the hard disk, that is, in a folder or drive on your computer, they will remain on your computer, regardless of any number of reboots.

    Hope this information is useful. If the problem persists, please post back for assistance.

  • caviggia files and dialog boxes (the role of Qt, Flex, etc) post-ADM

    After a few years of having to put my development efforts well enough hold him, I'm now back in the thick of it and work to get my CS3 (and so - CS5) plugins updated to CS6 and beyond. With the disappearance of the ADM, it seems to be quite a wild west as far as UI goes. First (if I remember), we were encouraged to use Flash, Flex, and now HTML5. What most developers using, especially smaller developers?

    Make a palette (now called a sign?) seems simple enough using native Xcode and Visual Studio, although there is a lot of extra coding for each platform. I see that the swirl sample plugin uses a file of .zxp in addition to the file of Betty. A caviggia file does not contain enough information for these controls, although it is apparently enough for the EmptyPanel project? I am not happy to find plenty of platform-specific reminders, etc., but do not want to submit my clients to an awkward two-step setup with the Extensions Manager process, either. Nor do I really had the time to become competent in several new programming languages.

    My plugins often use modal dialog boxes, but I can't find an example of how to apply them without an Interface separate editor. I already has many palettes/panels that you almost an extra monitor just for all, so I'd rather not have to go Park that route - but if I have to. Am I correct in guessing this is better done in Xcode (somehow) with a view with a window in Interface Builder? I'm sure that Visual Studio is not easy or intuitive.

    Golly, developing a plugin would be so MUCH easier if it was somehow possible using XOJO, which is simpler that C++ and completely cross-platform, including a great WYSIWYG editor, or even better if ADM dialog/control have been revised to work with the new user interface.

    I would greatly appreciate comments and recommendations for porting to CS6 and beyond, keeping in mind I'm an illustrator of trade and a self-taught programmer who writes plugins in my "spare" time

    TIA - Rick

    I think that a lot of small developers simply abandoned, and which perhaps explains why this forum is so quiet now. Personally, I use Flex. When Adobe has HTML5, they said that they would have begun to remove flash products support Creative Cloud in the middle of 2014. There are also rumours that they would stop Extension Manager. I don't think they did either again.

    The zxp file is an Extension Manager installer for the installation of the part of the user interface of the plugin, which is built from other files. Betty files are only used to set the entry point and name of plugin. All the stuff of the user interface are now in mxml flex for files and html html5 files, or native code, as in EmptyPanel.

    I am not happy to find plenty of platform-specific reminders, etc., but do not want to submit my clients to an awkward two-step setup with the Extensions Manager process, either. Nor do I really had the time to become competent in several new programming languages.

    You can include the zxp UI file in another zxp file that also contains the plugin by creating a hybrid extension, so that it looks like the user that they install only one thing.

    The suite of AIUser has functions for the display of message boxes (* alert functions) and also has functions to display the file picker and color picker dialog boxes. There is also one to get a string of the user (GetInputFromUser), but if you need anything with more controls, you have to build your own dialog boxes. I would recommend this doing flex/HTML5 rather than as a native window to maintain the look and feel of the Illustrator.

    Yes, Adobe could simply write a conversion layer to convert WMD in which that is the language of the INTERFACE now takes their fancy, but instead, they decided it would be best to plugin developers to rewrite their code whenever they decide to change the user interface.

  • excerpt from script to open the file info dialog box?

    is it possible to have a script, open the dialog "file info" and then just end (leave the dialog box open) so that the user can enter any information of metatag?

    This appears to do:

    app.menuActions.itemByID (75265) .invoke)

    But this seems to do too:

    app.menuActions.itemByID (89092) .invoke)

    Not really sure what is the difference, but it is without a doubt one

    difference, so check it out carefully. If you find something, after return!

  • A better file select dialog box.

    Folder.selectDialog ("select the folder to import '");

    So what I use when I need a user to select a folder.  The code still works fine, but I hate a little actual dialog box.  I wish I could select folders with the Save as dialog.

    saveAs.JPG

    It has more options, I use shortcuts, it records at your place.

    Anyone know how I can set up a select folder dialog box that works similar to the Save as dialog box?

    No knowledge would be helpful.

    Thanks for the research.

    So what I got.

    var dskTop = Folder.desktop;

    var dskPth = String (dskTop);

    newSpot var = new File (dskPth + "/poop");

    var selectedFolder = newSpot.saveDlg ('Select Destination Folder');

    var illFilePath = selectedFolder.path;

    Alert (illFilePath);

    This opens the dialog box at the level of the office.  Then put 'crap' or whatever you want in the text field.  There the user can access where ever.  When they except illFilePath will be the path to the folder.  Not perfect but its fine enough for me now.
