  Hello

  System Restore is a very useful tool, but it is not the miracle solution! :-)

  Your "ntoskrnl.exe" file seems to be corrupted and this file is very important as you BONE!
  You can try to start Notepad, and then press the key "F8". This will take you to a menu and you can choose the 'last known good configuration"and the VGA Mode.

  If you are lucky your laptop work after that, otherwise you can only recover the portable whole! But if you have important data on the NB you safe to an external drive!

• Some Vista files missing after the withdrawal of the smart engine, but which?

  My PC has been infected by Virus Smart engine.  The guy from virus removal that came has managed to get rid of it but I now find that when automatic updates has run, that many cannot be installed (KB978207, KB038194, KB959108).  Site Windows says that there must be some missing files on Vista (due to the previous virus) but I don't know which ones or how to remedy the situation.

  No help available guy?  P.s. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to computers.

  Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  , Type sfc/scannow go and let it run.  It will scan and try to the difficulty of some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.  If she has corruption, please put the on-line sfcdetails.txt file in order to download it and look at them details (try Skyline through your Windows Live account).

  While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot.   Answer Yes and restart to run the program.  It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

  I hope this helps or at least helps us identify the problem.  Is this the only problem you are experiencing and it is only a few updates and not all?  When you try to install these updates, what happens?  You get the error messages (if so, what do say Word for Word)?  What site Windows says that there must be some missing files on Vista (Please provide a link to this site, so I can better understand the applicability of this notice)?

  I updated one of the pc to my work and downloaded updates. After restarting the pc installed updates, about 32. After installing many important issues seemed to lack, including the application of drop box.   I offer all my files on an external drive vmware.  Everything worked very well.  Because this external hard drive was also my time machine and fill drive upward, I move again vmware files to another disk external usb.  Whenever I said I copied files.  Everything worked.  To save space in my time machince external hard drive I've trashed the copy of my merge data thought had been safe to move to the new external drive.  In the new disk all data are intact, but startup .vmx file is missing.  Screw up the first set of files moved to destroy this file.  I use fusion 4 and is an operating system Windows xp professional.

  How to restore the vmx file?

• Option to export to QuickTime file missing in CS6

  I use the trial version of Adobe Premiere CS6 and trying to export a movie in quicktime (.mov) format and with the video codec sorenson, both do not appear in the lists of options. According to the site assessment CS5.5 and later Web is all supposed to have the same options for export than the full versions. Any ideas what could be wrong, or have just removed Adobe a lot of options between CS5 and CS6?

• Files missing after moving iMovie events from local disk to external HARD disk. Are they lost?

  Hi all

  Tonight, I tried to clear up little space on my local HARD drive and wanted to spend my events/projects of the iMovie local library to an external HARD disk, which I connected via firewire 800.

  I opened iMovie (v10.1 - current version with all updates installed). I clicked on an event to highlight and then the FILE--> COPY OF LIBRARY of selected EVENTS.

  There, I sailed on the external drive and created an iMovie new library called ReWatch2015. I copied successfully eight different events, including files from my external hard drive.

  The ultimate goal is to get rid of them on the HARD drive internal, I highlighted the 20 remaining events I wanted to move and then used the FILE--> MOVE of EVENTS at the LIBRARY and specified ReGen_2015.

  It seemed at first glance to move. In fact, he seemed to move too darn fast in my opinion. When I looked at home in the library of the external drive, they were nothing more than a string of question marks, with a message telling me that particular item is not found and re-import the original clips. It's impossible because I have not kept the original source material on my internal drive. I had asked before if they are preserved in the library of iMovie and told me Yes, so I that's why I deleted the original source material.

  Don't see no activity on the disks, I did the cmd - Z to go back. Events have now shown upward into the iMovie library internal. HOWEVER, they still have the question mark, with msg on reimport. What is scary, is that if I go to ALL projects of them have visible thumbnails. Yet, when I click on any of these thumbnails to load the project into the editor, I am back to the page of question mark again.

  Are the file on drive HARD internal, and they just disassociated projects, or two-thirds of my library of events of 2015 are now toast? I was not under any type of backup Time Machine to be able to recover them, and frankly, if they left, it is not the end of the world since I was of the .mp4 displayed on Vimeo. But, I would just assume the iMovie library intact if possible.

  Suggestions on how to recover are greatly appreciated!

  Am having exactly the same problem on a new iMac 2016 running El Capitan: when I want to MOVE events such as you describe it, they sometimes get lost in the original library, both in the target library. Like you, I noticed that a such attempt to move just a very short time even if several GB of data play a role. Sometimes however, iMovie is able to move successfully. I my case, I had to re - import events so lost since an additional backup, I got on another external drive that I couldn't find the clips 'lost' on the HARD drive more. Very scary!

  I think it's an iMovie/El Capitan question which could be corrected with future updates. The only solution I've found is to the events of the FIRST COPY, and then check if the target is really OK and only then select the MOVE option, which will remove the original library to free up space. In addition, I plan to copy on a regular basis my library full iMovie on an extra disk to backup using the finder.

• VMX file missing after moving the hard drive

  I have a problem with my VM Windows 8, it has stopped working when I moved the physical SSD in a different SATA port on the motherboard. I moved because he was running on the SATA2 instead of the SATA3 and its an SSD.

  Really starting to panic now, I have loads of work on this virtual machine. I created snapshots, but they do not display inside VMWare, the files are still there.

  Can you confirm that you have changed the hard with VMware Workstation closed? And you fixed the problem on the disk that appeared when you ran chkdsk?

  What you can try is to see if it works to clone the virtual disk manually by running

  VMware - vdiskmanager.exe, t 0 - r 'Windows 8.1 - 000001.vmdk' 'Windows 8.1 - Clone.vmdk.

  (you may need to provide the full path to the executable file)

  If it doesn't work, that shows the same error message: the GUI?

  I've recently updated as a result of Creative Cloud 2015 and now I get an error message with Muse on my site:

  I suspect a problem in the scripts folder, but I deleted all folders on the server and re-downloaded from 2015 muse and I still get the same error message.
  

  Error message appears in the two latest version of Chrome and Internet Explorer on the laptop on broadband home ADSL.

  Their two error messages that you can display when you try to access the site. When I saw the site in the browser everything appears as it should.

  I tried to delete the files in the site then re-exporters and re download through third-party ftp program and also download FTP in the Muse. The error message appears the same in both cases. This suggests a bug in the exported code (file scripts?)

  I would be grateful if you could look in to this as soon as possible because it is a breach of next years race marketing.

  Glad to know that the problem is solved! As you can see above, delete the manifest file was in one of my initial suggestions, so I'll repeat it here, for anyone who tries to solve this problem, as well as an additional step to reset the browsers chrome:

  (1) for the publication, select "Select All Files" and download all the files on the server, or

  (2) delete the file manifest and try again or

  (3) reset the preferences of google chrome

  • Exit google chrome
  • restart chromium and go to Preferences > settings
  • Scroll down and click on "Advanced settings".
  • Scroll down to the bottom again, and then click "reset settings".
  • Re - open the page and check if the error has disappeared

  I'm having a problem with a particular .dll file disappear after a reboot.

  The problem occurs on 2 PC - one running Win7 Home Pro 64-bit, the other Vista Home Basic 32 bit.

  Problem started on 21 September after Superantispyware (SAS) has identified two Google Earth files as being infected by a Trojan and deleted files. After a lot of checking, it seems that it was a false positive.  After controls substanitial for infections (I run Norton 360) I rebooted Google Earth (GE) on both PC and the program worked fine, however after I restarted the PC, GE could not run and an error message indicating that the files were missing. I went through several cycles of reloading GE; GE works well; restart; GE fails with the same missing .dll files.

  Missing files on Win 7 PC are:-
  c:/Program Files (X 86) / Google/Google Earth/client/igexportcommon.dll
  c:/Program Files (X 86) / Google/Google Earth/plugin/igexportcommon.dll

  I got a work around that I saved the file (IGEXPORTCOMMON. (DLL) to a different folder and can get GE working by manually copying the file in its working files, but would like to get GW working properly again.

  I have scan system - but it is "no breach of integrity".

  Have these files become somehow marked to not recharge after a reboot?

• QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-242 won't read DVD or BURN a CD (music CD will PLAY) [AFTER the HD FORMAT and re - install}

  Dell Inspiron5100 WinXP SP3.

  Due to malware, I had to FORMAT my HD and re-install Windows XP OEM disc.  I also reinstalled WIN DVD4 from the OEM disc that came with the laptop.

  Check SYSTEM/DeviceMGR/material indicates a problem with the drive, but: it won't READ a DVD or burn a CD (which she has done before)

  Can't update anything of QSI as they were absorbed by COREL years.  No support available for WINDVD4

  When you try to run WINDVD4 with a DVD in the drive, I get a Popup of WINDVD screen that says:

  After following all the steps (including the update of the MP9 for Media Player [MP] 11) below

  I can get the drive to DISPLAY all the data from the DVD (Master & Commander 'movie)

  Did yesterday.  It installed/ran "MR. Microsoft Fixit' with the result:

  "Question: media in the CD-RW/DVD drive is not readable" CLICKED top DIFFICULTY... and after computer "worked" on this subject awhile, he says STATUS: fixed.  St ill did not.   MP9 introduced the format of the DVD player but don't seem to read anything other then showing a list:

  So far it's PROGRESS.  We are at a point where it SEEMS at least that we are ready to PLAY and MP can SEE all the info on the DVD.
