• JDEVADF - Page and source code model

  Hi all
  
  On the demo of "http://jdevadf.oracle.com" site, I could see that he has links to the source code for Page and template.
  My question is that can I download and use the same source code directly in the Jdev to get the same layout style.
  I tried with the model and was so not sure mistakes.
  
  If possible please let me know the steps to achieve the same.

• JSF - lack of source code using the creation of models and composition

  It's really strange, or maybe I don't understand JSF.
  
  Supposedly to make the long story short, I have the following:
  
  a. masterLayout.xhtml file - primary model
  b. file myPractice.xhtml - compositions that uses templates to file masterLayout.xhtml
  
  masterLayout.xhtml page go to myPractice.xhtml (using ajax). The myPractice.xhtml rendered correctly - shows all components of the model and its own page. But when I check the "see source code page", I see the source code of masterLayout.xhtml.
  
  Here is the part of the source code:
  
  IMPORTANT NOTE: masterLayout.xhtml has a COMMANDBUTTON RICHFACES (a4j:commandButton) WHICH RENDER THE PANEL ID "MyPractice" FOUND IN myPractice.xhtml. Means that this rendering of the page via ajax commandButton control.

  If you look at this "source code" view Page"carefully comparing to masterLayout.xhtml, from the height: 780px, you will notice the name of ui: insert section = 'content' is... empty.

  When you "view source" you made an another GET, that renders the page in its original state. It is not the source as it is currently displayed for example after a button push.

  Not sure if this is the right forum, but someone might suggest the best location for the answer if it's not?

  Briefly, client asked to buy the source code that is used to run my test platforms so they can change it if necessary. They have very limited experience of Labview but suggested that they will get a third party to write code so I will not provide it. Already know this has been rejected by their managers had cost an attempt last year, but maybe things have changed?

  So I am selling the code for platforms of my and future updates of the risk and test specifications new work or try to find some sort of compromise? In truth Labview code gives a better return on profit the electronics/mechanical side of the testbeds that are pretty intense on the cost, more than 2 tons of equipment and with logistical pain to where they end up.

  I am surprised that such an important issue was not madated by your customer from the beginning.

  As you said, this could simply be a threat.  If management has already turned down the cost of rewriting the code, then most likely, it is foolish to pay someone money and a waste of time to rewrite what they already have, risking that they cannot reproduce.

  On the other hand, you may potential new future contracts, because they know that you are not willing to provide the source code and will turn to someone who will.  One of my clients is not yet deal with you if you don't give it to them.  They have had a bad experience on a set of systems where the seller goes bankrupt and have no way to maintain the systems.

  According to my experience, customers want to know that they are covered in case you be unavaiable, or them is more willing to do business with you.  Each customer receives the source code for me unless it's a product that I have developed.  In this case, they can buy the source for their own internal use at a high price.  It makes them really decide if they need source code or not.

  I suggest something similar in your case.  Give them what they ask for, but at a price just for you.  You will realize that giving them this code may mean they will go elsewhere, it should be taken into account.  If this code is used only by them, and you did not pay them for all of your time in development, then you will need to get all the money that you is due.  Otherwise, price it below cost to make from scratch, but high enough so that you can lose a few things and be covered.

  Most of the time, the customer will get back to you.  It will be cheaper and faster to pay you to do since you are experienced with the software already and do not have to come at the speed.  If they are not experienced and DIY stat, they are only of the costs themselves in the long term.

  I have a client who likes to tinker.  He always ends up paying me twice what it takes for this reason.  Usually, he informs me there is a new version and it does not provide (or provide the worng version).  I do the work, and then he complains about something not being good.  Then he gives me the right version and I pay to redo all the work.

  I myself is not entitled, concentrated it as the temporary macro. It seems as if the temporary macro cannot be removed, so that your solution to fill it with harmless instructions is the way to go.

  Given that whenever you record a temporary macro you overwrite the previous content, you can simplify the macro by recording a single statement only.

  I have an application on said device "OldApplication", and it works fine. I've done some chnages in the same source code and also changed the name of the application to different say "NewApplication". Now both applications are present on the device. "OldApplication" works fine but when I try to open ' NewApplication "it hangs on the splash screen. I checked the event logs and got the trace of the exception uncaught,

  How is it a generation of application relates to another application? NewApplications resource files is in conflict with the OldApplication resource files are same in both applications?

  "NewApplication" works fine if I uninstall 'OldApplication '. In fact, I want two applications to work very well.

  Problem solved!

  When I rename all localization resources, java class files resource was not updated bundle id. It was referring old bundle id file.

  So I create new files resource and copied the old content file.

  Now, the two applications work correctly.

• Mysterious &lt; br &gt; tag in live code, and not in the source code

  I have a problem here, as mentioned above, with ma page Web.  When you go to this link:

  you will find a space perfectly size between menu horizontal blue and red background that lines on two images (image of the handshake, 'Welcome to the Master Insurance Agency' image).  When I look at to inspect the Web site in Dreamweaver in live code, I noticed a < br > tag sitting just before the tag of table containing the red background.  However, when I go back to the source code, the < br > tag is not found by the opening table tag.

  How can I change something that is not in the source code?  I want to get rid of this gap! Help, please!

• What should * and * shouldn't go into Source code control?

  I've seen posts with snippets of what should not go into source code control, but I've not seen a comprehensive list of what should and should not go into source control. Anyone know? Here's what I know so far - do not put the following files in the source control: .pss, .cpd, .ldb and .hhp.

  Now I wonder about the XPJ file. If two or more people work on a project, this file should be source controlled?

  Is there a specific list of files that need to be in control of source code in order to maintain the integrity of the project?

  The answer is simple here is that machine specific files may not be archived. It is. PSS and. DPC files. The. HHP and. XPJ files are not specific machine, they are specific project and therefore should be archived. The confusion surrounding the HHP file can go down to find out if output CHM is produced. If you're not, we can say safely that this file may not be source controlled. But it costs nothing to register under source control so why make life more difficult by excluding it.
