Finding no updates of Windows available since August, 2012.

Since August, 2012 I seem not to be find available updates Windows. I have the security settings the same as during the last three years. I have the settings so that I have to manually search for updates I've done religiously and I ALWAYS found at least 1 Update critical or optional... until August. Now when I search it says "no update is available.  I find that hard to believe. I wouldn't be able to get them? I get no error message or anything whatsoever in making me think that something is wrong.  My last update (8/12) has been for Adobe Reader x help, please! I'm afraid I'm unknowingly in danger!

  • Vista SP2 enterprise. Updates to Windows from 11 August caused the system hang after starting.

Œuvres of mouse pointer, but the catch systems when I click on any element of the bar of tasks or office. OK works in safe mode. System Restore to a date before the updates does not help. I've eliminated all unnecessary programs in menu start, including NVIDIA drivers, but the problem persists.  Any suggestions?  Thank you!

    Hi Mathew and Imran;

Thank you.  After several reboots, add and remove services, I believe a solution to the problem.   It seems that McAfee Total Protection disliked among updates August 11... or the update did not like 'total Protection '.

After much frustration, I removed any trace of McAfee, first using windows uninstaller, then running the downloaded program to uninstall McAfee. I then installed Microsoft Security Essentials and downloaded and re-installed McAfee Site Advisor.

I don't think I have the same level of protection as I had before, but the system is faster and I think that I have an adequate level of security.  I'll leave it as it is for now.

I don't want this post as a blow against McAfee, they are an industry leader in computer security and 'Total Protection' provided exactly that.  We have a second PC in our House... material of identical office however, but under Vista Home Premium, whereas this one is running Vista Business.  Home Premium system runs 'Total Protection' and has not experienced the same problem, as the system of the company.  What's up mind dat?  It runs more slowly, probably because of McAfee files analysis procedures.

If Security Essentials works well in the coming months on this system, I can install it on the other system, as well as on my laptop.  In more than 10 years (from Windows 98 to Vista), we always used McAfee products and have NEVER had a viral infection.  Is it because of MCafee or our own due diligence?  Assume that this is not serious.

Thanks again for your help.  You got me on the right track!  Best regards... TeeDubTW

  • Is firefox are affected by the last update of windows 10 - since update firefox slow/no answering and asking to be closed - ARRGH microsoft

Why is it every time there is an upgrade microsift everything seems to get mucked up - you could almost imagine it is programmed in so regular is the problem - because the free upgrade windows 10 seems to be problems... Guard clamp upwards mozilla responds don't not etc - someone at - it ideas?

Support for Windows 10 of Firefox will be more fully realized version 40 this is the 39 version.

40 Firefox will not be finalised for a few weeks, but if you are already running Windows 10 maybe you're an 'early adopter' and he won't mind using a beta-test version.

First of all, I suggest you a backup of your file of main parameters (profile). This article has tips on it: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Then the beta version is available on the next page (scroll down to your preferred language): https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/all/

In case you're wondering, the traditional criterion of the 32-bit version will take care of all of your regular plugins; the version 64-bit test barely has plug-ins available and perhaps a few other work through compatibility issues.

    Hi emiquestion:

Long 'check for updates...' crashes and slow window updates are a currently a problem common to many users of Vista SP2 - please see the workaround suggested, I posted yesterday over BluesBlaster WINDOWS VISTA 32-BIT updates.

Note that it is a temporary workaround and updates slow Windows will probably return each Patch Tuesday (the second Tuesday of the month) after Microsoft also releases a new batch of updates to security for Vista SP2 and IE9.  Since September 2016 Patch Tuesday updates are published tomorrow (13-Sep-2016), it would be wise to wait a day or two to execute step-by-step instructions posted on June 16, 2016, in m #l's thread of updates does not, he has been looking for updates for hours and save yourself a bit of extra work this month.  Dalai normally updates its list of Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) implemented to date required the same evening that the Patch Tuesday, updates are published by Microsoftto the http://wu.krelay.de/en/ .

  • I was not able to download the updates of Windows XP

I have a dell machine running xp / sp3 who has started having failures to download or install updates may 9.  Since then he has not installed updates even if it is set to do so all night at 04:00.  It is also doing the same thing on the other computer desk in the small office LAN we have running off a verizon for DSL router.  Chess began the same night, May 9.  Here to install updates from the windows update page also failed.  I ran the utility 'Difficulty now' from microsoft, and it has not fixed the problem.

Thanks in advance for your help to solve this problem.

Original title: I was not able to download the updates of Windows XP since May 9. Downloads keep failing.

If you have been playing around with the settings, you'd be wise to resinstall.  All that are "machine accounts" which are automatically defined by the system to the evolution of random passwords.  If you have accounts of changes of ntauthority to other accounts, you perhaps weakened the security level of the operating system.

No it's not a portal, that even Microsoft doesn't know what are these passwords.
