Fax - PC connection

Hello community!

I want to get a fax that will keep the faxes in its memory and will then be able to send them to my PC. Is this possible?

I think some models like the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer - N911a. I tried to find out details, but here http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Printers/HP-Officejet-Pro/CM749A -> form-> connectivity there is none.

Please enlighten me. Thank you all!

EDIT:

Now, I found this HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf multifunction printer range that seems to suit me better.

I would ask as well, is that the machine has to connect to a computer to work, or is it independent? Thank you once again!

Hi QuestionAsker,

The HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a is able to send faxes on your computer.  See Guide the user on page 51.  Digital solutions  Fax Email is supported only by the sign more (N911g) or Premium (N911n) versions of the Officejet Pro 8600.

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf multifunction can receive faxes to a Windows computer, but not a Macintosh computer.  See page 137 of the User Guide.  Receive faxes to a computer

You can make copies or send a fax to the printer without being connected to a computer.

  • HP Send Fax cannot connect

I have a 276 MFP connected via a network and using Windows 7 64 bit.

I can print, remote scan, access to information through the device HP Toolbox and can test the printer. I do not use a firewall on my computer. When I try to use HP Send Fax it tells me that I can't communicate with the printer.

Someone at - it solve this problem?

I can send by fax machine. I can remote scan, I can save a scan to a network folder. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Nothing works.

I emailed HP customer care and they have quickly closed the case without doing anything just to preserve their statistics. So there is no need to contact them directly. Hoping someone has the solution here.

Discovered that IE11 was the problem. Once we removed it that has solved the problem with the fax.

  • can I send a fax without connecting to a phone line

I plan to move to a 'verizon wireless' home phone that does not support faxes... Is there a way I can send a fax from my HP Officejet printer all-in-one without connecting to a phone line?

    Hello
Unfortunately, it is not possible. Need to connect both devices to send a fax.
  • CTCE Officejet 6500 Fax Modem connection has more

    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

HP 6500 Officjet has more.  Time Warner Cable installed a telephone modem TWC eMTA and split the line of incoming telephone into the wall jack, while retaining the original outlet in Officejet 6500 has more connection as indicated in the manual of HP.

However, he then disconnected the connection back to Officejet 6500 has more to the telephone base unit, even if the installation HP statement indicates the connection shall be connected directly to the telephone receiver.

The technician then connected the TWC eMTA modem to the second part of the splitter to the wall outlet.  The phone works perfectly, but in the race a fax test fails a tone detection.

The fax test print States to remove the splitter and connect the fax directly to the wall socket, but remove the separator is not an option, as there is no connection to the eMTA TWC telephony modem.   The manual mentions also using a digital-analog filter or converter, like the Officejet requires an analog connection.

My understanding is that the reason for the direct connection from the HP device to the telephone receiver allows the fax listening to the phone line for a tone and a fax signal and respond to the line after 6 rings and to send a fax.

Don't attempt to send a fax test fax test HP 'No Answer' number statements, which means that the Officejet had no dial tone.

Suggestions for connections that operate, or what analog digital filter or converter to use, would be appreciated, like TWC has no solution.

I thought I had solved this case myself by disconnecting all connections made by this technology TWC and followed the manual of HP.  I started with the newly installed separator and reconnected the separator to the input line of the OfficeJet and connected the output of the OfficeJet directly to the phone base unit.  To get the connection telephony TWC, I connected a second line of the second take of the splitter modem telephony TWC (the latter which is connected to the TWC cable output).  Problem solved: NO - Fax tone, a tone phone and yells, but none of the calls incoming.  To get the incoming phone calls, had to disconnect the line from the phone base unit and reconnect the unit on base of telephone modem telephony TWC by result, incoming and outgoing calls, but not the Officejet, so no fax tone.

I am not employed by H - P & I do not look for congratulations, fair solutions.

Gemini02: Thanks a lot for your attempt to help.  It turns out that he didn't need an analog filter or a converter.

'Knowledge-information technology-better than you' technology contract for Time Warner Cable didn't know what he was doing in a first step in dealing with the HP Officejet, or much else, as his only totally disconnected from the Officejet actions.

First of all, to the phone outlet, where the incoming landline connected initially to the Officejet, he installed a useless Dispatcher and reconnected the Officejet to it (a line now dead).  The connection to the Officejet was to be performed to a modem (direct line), Time Warner phone instead.  All of the remaining connections should have been left as they were.  Instead, this tech then connected the telephone base unit Panasonic TWC telephony modem (where a live telephone connection) and the outgoing line of Officejet to the second connection on the split bar newly installed (a deadline) and therefore no dial don't tone for the Officejet.

As I had no idea about the operation of the outlet now amended, there had me time again unplug everything and realize that the incoming connection was not this splitter connected outlet and , but in fact the modem telephony. TWC

Connected the Officejet directly to the modem telephony TWC, culminating in the Officejet tone.   The outgoing line the Officjet directly linking to the Panasonic phone plant, leading to the tone at the telephone base unit.  Sent a fax requesting a return fax, resulting in 4 traffic lights and answering machine pickup, and after 6 rings, received a fax.  The splitter is unplugged from the wall dead and thrown in the trash.  The problem is finally solved.

Thanks again for all the responses.

  • Photosmart 7520 - unable to receive faxes

New photosmart 7520, (Window XP) reception of fax problems. Test Fax - spent, several times report. When first installed and then received fax he stopped receiving.  Uninstalled and reinstalled, I wasn't able to scan either. Scan fine at the moment, but still not able to receive faxes. I have an answering machine on the same line, with the cord from the phone connected to the back of the printer, ext 2, and the fax cord connected to the wall outlet.

    Hi TaTToo214,

    You can send a fax?

How many rings before answer on the printer?

How does that compare on the answering machine?

For a better fit, the printer must be on 6 rings and the answering machine set to 4.

    Please consult this document:

It's for a different model, but it has good troubleshooting procedures.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot receive faxes

I am able to send faxes but not receive them. I turned off in error correction, changed the fax speed to slow and auto answer enabled. None of this has worked.

I think the problem might be the way that the printer and fax are connected. I have a cable modem and the telephone line goes directly from the modem jack. My phone service is through Comcast cable, then nothing is plugged directly into the wall jack to the phone.

I have a phone on the same phone number, which is plugged into the upper Jack on the printer. The (phone) cord frrom the modem cable to the printer is plugged directly underneath.

    Hello @foxtail09,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you Officejet Pro 8610 is unresponsive to faxes.

    I would like to help.

    Everything seems correct.

Your phone line has a service of voice mail on this subject?

Voicemail could be intercepted the fax before that the printer gets it.

Run a test fax report to determine the status of fax on the printer and whether or not it is properly configured to send and receive faxes.
  • My windows fax tone stops shortly after the recipient fax tone is heard

I send a fax with the fax from windows, I hear my tone waiting for a response. Within 5 seconds the tone that responded to the questionnaire, my cut fax tone and nothing gets by fax. Why?

Windows XP fax is notoriously fragile.  It was poorly supported by Microsoft and is now essentially not supported.

Did you ever send a fax using Windows XP Fax?  If so, what has changed?

This happens with all fax numbers?  You can try fax HP testing service: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00259105&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

What is the brand and model of your fax modem?  (Check the device in case of doubt Manager; Start > run > devmemg.msc > OK)

  • Cannot send faxes from Fax Console

I have a problem with my fax services.  I went and updated windows for my windows xp.  I downloaded the fax software, but it does not allow me to install it.  Then, I went to the control panel and clicked on Add/Remove programs and then I checked the fax services on windows components area and he told me that I have a service pack 3 and insert the cd. My computer came with any cd or boot disk.  There is not that it is installed on my computer that I bought at Best Buy.  They said that computers are like that. I find that hard to believe, at this time, it's true. However I need help to get Fax installed.  I have a modem with the cable operator and told me that I could run fax over there.  I am naïve when it comes to all these stuff Setup. Please help because I need to fax to work.

In order to send and receive faxes, you need a conventional fax modem
with a direct phone line attached.  You can use the broadband unless you
use a web-based service like eFax fax:
    http://www2.eFax.com/eFax/TWA/page/homepage

Or consider buying a regular fax and connect it to your phone
    line.
