Firefix does not retain the preferences > privacy > do not forget history

I am running Firefox on Ubuntu LTS 12.04.3 31.0. I chose several times remember history as a Prefence, but the browser forget the choice when I restart. Same behavior with a point of updating Firefox. How can I fix it?

Thank you

I think I can help you here. If you open your [tools] / [Options] / tab, is the drop of water to the bottom of the box for "show my windows and tabs from last time"? Simply reset the option "show my home page".

    Hello

I suggest you to contact the Apple support on this issue, then follow link below:
  • my privacy setting is stuck on do not forget history, won't stay on using the custom settings for history, after I've selected and click ok

When I go to tools, Options, privacy and "Use the custom settings for history" of the value and then click on OK it won't save. It remains on "Remember history", even if she never will save "remember history" as I tested it. It seems if be produced after these recent last Firefox update. Anyone know why I can not choose "Use the custom settings for history", as is the parameter I want to use?

Why aren't satisfied with the history settings by default that you currently have?

Any changes (for example, to disable the cookies third party or form not given memory or keep cookies until you close Firefox and make an exception for the cookies you want to keep) that you will cause "use... custom parameters. "to be selected if you really want to see.

  • Firefox does not remember my cookies, even if I choose history does not forget and remember passwords for sites.

I choose to remember the story in the Privacy tab and remember passwords for sites on the Security tab in the Options, but when I close Firefox, it doesn't remember my cookies and I have to make the connections manually everytime I open Firefox.

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • do not delete 'Cookies' and 'Site preferences.

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

If clearing cookies doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

  • Deactivation of the results "Do not forget history" in the download library malfunction.

I had turned off the historic "Remember" option, and when I download anything it is not get listed in the library "downloads". It is downloaded in the background, but I am not able to see its progress. When I enable the option remember history, get the list of current downloads. I use firefox 26.0

If you don't remember the story, then you enter private browsing mode and you do not keep so download history.

Firefox handles downloads in the downloads folder in the library (history > show history)

    • Downloads are treated as elements of history: compensation removes history included download the elements and vice verse.
    • When the downloads are in progress you see a download button animation on the toolbar for Navigation showing an estimate of the remaining time
    • The download button gets a green highlight all completed once download to make you aware that there are new downloads.
    • Suspend and resume are in the context menu of an item.

Purpose: download page (show all downloads) displays the downloads in private browsing mode, but you can't keep them in the downloads folder in the library.

Are there other methods of troubleshooting? Only like 2-3 sites appear and they never change. Semi-automatic seems to work perfectly, and my story is saved correctly if I hit CTRL-H.

I solved the problem by following these steps:

    (1) uninstall Firefox completely.
    (2) install Chrome.
    (3) forget Firefox exists and move on with your life.

  • Never, do not forget history and clear history do not work. Why?

I have my privacy screw as tight as possible settings. Always use privacy. Don't remember history. But it does! When I try to erase any history, it fails. How can I solve this problem?

Now, I'm suspicious that there may be other serious problems of security/privacy...

You have Firefox configured to use automatic private browsing mode. In this mode, the story is temporarily stored during your session but is disabled when you exit Firefox. You should be able to confirm the start of Firefox that there no history from a previous session, for example, in the library (Ctrl + Shift + h) dialog box.

  • Firefox does not delete browsing history in the address bar

No matter what you with Firefox in clearing the browser history by going to the history-> delete history, recent and all delete or reset FF by accessing information from troubleshooting, Firefox does not browsing history. The Web site you have traveled still appear in the address bar.

Several people have already complained about this (see thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/939028) and the response from the staff of Firefox is that it is be a malware. That's not true, I've seen versions of Firefox in own computers Windows and Mac with Firefox, do the same thing, or rather not do what it is supposed to do: clean browsing history.

How dangerous is that. Where your privacy? Firefox must find a way to fix this glitch. Something tells me they do it on purpose because it has not been fixed after him complains.

  • The 'Awesome Bar' does not work. He does not remember anything of the bookmarks

Just updated again Firefox. In the past, when I'd start typing a site in the firefox address bar it would complete as it was already in my favorites. But now it does nothing. It just sits there waiting for me the full address. I could start typing Netf and it automatically end Netflix.com

Why is happening. Also, for the first days of the new version I had to go back in the tools, Options and reset things at least 3 or 4 times before they finally remained as I wanted.

I would say he never remember history and after while I would look and he said, do not forget history. I wanted a blank start page, and not to change it. It's normal now but the Awesome Bar does not at all.

Your bookmarks are displayed in the drop-down list auto suggestion?

Otherwise: Under Options > confidentiality, in the lower part, does always show that Firefox should suggest bookmarks in the location bar?

If auto-suggest works but the AutoFill does, you may check that it has not been disabled here:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste autofs and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) If browser.urlbar.autoFill preference is "BOLD" and "user" false, double-click it to change its value to the default value true. It should work in new tabs.

It already is the value true, hmm, I wonder if there is a problem of private browsing? (I didn't test with automatic private browsing).

  • Firefox Android on Nexus 7 (2012) does not erase the history/private data on exit even if I put it to do.

I checked the updates for the version of Android, Firefox and I have the latest version. I changed the settings to erase privacy on Quit but it does not work, history still shows when I reopen it Firefox. Any suggestions?

Found the problem. Previous Android version of Firefox did not have an option "Quit" to close the browser. I had an add-on called "quit now" installed. Latest Android now seems to have its own Quit option that appears now. I uninstalled the add-on "Quit Now" and when I close Firefox with its button leave the history is cleared. Others having the same problem should check their modules under tools to see if they have the add-on "Quit Now". I caught only solutions having seen 2 different options of Quit.

  • InDesign CS6 will not retain any preferences

One of my users has been recently updated for CS5 Design and Web Premium CS6.  The first problem is that the InDesign program crashes from time to time for no apparent reason.  Second, the InDesign program will not retain the preferences.  If the program crashes and is restarted, the preferences are lost.  In addition, if the program is normally closed and reopened, preferences are lost.  This started happening about a month ago and before that, there is no problem.

I have searced forums and the internet for a solution and while I could find similar problems with other users, I can not find a solution.  Re-setting the program did not produce a resolution.  If anyone can help with this frustrating problem.

Lisa, all of the experts from Adobe here are useless. They bombard you with questions, and theories.  I am a computer scientist of operations who was responsible for resolving problems and issues of the software. I have do this usually by the process of elimination.  Most of these people is applications users who call the IT operations people to solve their problems, when this stuff happens.

Here's what I did to fix the problem.  I saved all the users of windows profile settings to a different folder.  Then I deleted the windows end-user user profile.  He then recorded in the PC and his profile has been recreated.  He was then able to configure its settings in InDesign.  These preferences and settings are now retained when it disconnects, stops, restarts, etc...

I know this isn't the best solution, but only slightly.  The key is to make sure you have saved/backed up all data users and their user in windows profile settings.

    Good luck!!!
